Story
Meet Skipper! Her finder had her for a month and fully house trained her, and she knows her manners. Skipper is about 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds. She looks like a Black Mouth Cur mix, but she has a fluffy tail and some interesting coloring on her legs. She walks well on a leash, and is learning that the world is a fun place to explore when you have a safe, warm home and regular food every day! She’s good with other dogs and people, and would love to keep building her confidence.Skipper is doing amazing in her foster home, she's mellow and has been learning new commands quickly. She knows how to sit and give paw, and has gradually been doing amazing with her crate training.Skipper is house trained, and does well with new people once she's introduced. She's such a. Story
Meet May! She's mastered all basic obedience training thanks to classes with Swift K9 Training. She LOVES people and kids, but would do best in a home with children over 8. She does not mind cats at all and completely ignores them. She loves her crate--it's her safe space. She is great on leash and loves walks. May is about 4.5 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She would do best in a home as an only dog, and needs a quiet, calm environment willing to take things slow to help her adjust to home life. She has a lot of love to give to someone who can give her a chance.May came into rescue during COVID with her puppies almost 4 years ago. She has seen so many foster puppies come and go through our barn and continues to patiently wait for her turn for a family of her very own. She is happy here, we walk and explore daily and she is very loved. But y’all she deserves so much more than we can offer her. Her adoption fee is fully sponsored! She just needs the perfect home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Sable is an energetic, smart, and loving dog with a big heart. She’s a fast learner, especially when treats are involved, and has already mastered commands like “wait,” “stop,” and even using a bell to let her foster know when she needs to go outside. Sable loves her humans and is always ready for a cuddle session on the couch or a snuggle in bed. While she has a strong prey drive and gets excited on walks, she’s improving with training and loves to please. Sable enjoys playing with other dogs, especially those who share her playful nature. She’s a little too excited around cats and is looking for a forever home without them. Sable is looking for a patient family to continue her training and offer her the love and attention she craves.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. Story
Hi there! My name is Poppy! I was surrendered to RASKC when my previous owner could no longer care for me. Now I`m on the search for a new home! I`m a very sweet and outgoing dog! My previous owner said that I lived with cats and am house trained. Here in the shelter I keep a nice, tidy kennel! In my prior home, I was not a fan of small children so I would do best if my new home has older, dog savvy kids or is an adult only home. I`m still working on my basic manners and should be consider somewhat a puppy. I have a lot of learning left to do! I weigh 55lbs and am considered a medium size dog. I will not get any bigger. I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other similar sized dogs. When meeting dogs in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction.
