Story
There are special dogs in this world. You know them when you meet them. Just like people,Kaye they are all special for their own reasons.  Our blue eyed Kaye is a former mama dog that had several litters before she was two years old.  Down in a very rural area of Tennessee, we had apparently helped an earlier litter get adopted out after they were found on an isolated country highway. They looked exactly like her, but yet we did not know who or where she was yet. Six months later, Kaye was discovered by an older couple that had found the previous puppies, and she was very pregnant again.  We are adopting those puppies out now and they are precious like their mom.   Blue Eyed Kaye probably had never had fun in her life until she came in to our foster care. Now she's having the time of her life.  She's able to play and be loved and have fun.  Being a stray for most of your life and having litter after litter of puppies with nowhere to go, is pretty sobering.  Her beautiful blue eyes now dance with joy and delight as she plays with the resident foster dog who is half her size.  Kaye is a Border Collie, Aussie and Pointer mix.  She is around two years old and 47 pounds.  This girl learned the doggy door within hours of arrival and she definitely hates crates. GOOD NEWS IS.... when left out during the day, she does not destroy a thing. She is very respectful. This girl has just the right energy for playfulness, and then chill time.  She loves all creatures and would be a great family companion who would be wonderful with children.  She can live with other dogs or cats. Or she could be a single family pet.  All Kaye  wants is love.  If you have all the special ingredients for making her life the most fairy tale ending ever, please write to Critter Cavalry  Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   She is ready for her Prince Charming family to come along and sweep her off her feet. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 19, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie, and she is from what we can tell,  a border collie mix that defies definition in character and charm and intelligence. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her adult weight should be about 45 pounds. Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect.  She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness.   We expected a very emotionally damaged girl as well as physically harmed, but that was not the case.   Our girl Kinsey is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Full of life and resilience and confidence.  She adores other dogs young children comma is fine with cats.If that is what she needs to live with.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold happy and full of smiles an energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good and good will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at critter cavalry rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. And our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a home with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. Kinsey is a dog that will make you live with a big soul and a ready expectation to good things to happen in your life.  She brings great karma to all who meet her.  She has the softest silkiest fur ever.  If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 27, 2025, 6:55 pm

Story
This handsome scruffy black and white darling boy is called Ross and we have determined that he is a Border Collie/Border Terrier mix that is estimated to be 5 months old and weighs 14 pounds and destined to be around 35 pounds as an adult.  This boy and his sister, Rachel, were abandoned in a small rural area of Tennessee at a cabin that was a parttime retreat for a family that lived 200 miles away.  Fortunately ,the cabin’s doorbell camera  caught these puppies being abandoned and alerted the property owner that these poor puppies were in trouble with no food or water anywhere around.  To make matters worse, impending frigid weather was on its way to their area.  The doors opened and rescue forces got to work quickly to go and pick up the puppies and carry them to a Critter Cavalry Rescue foster home.   This puppy and his sister are both smart and anxious to please.  Ross wants to be someone's special Valentine. He is crate trained and learning what it's like to be in a warm and loving home.  It's hard to imagine that only 2 weeks ago some cold-hearted person dumped him and his sister Rachel to possibly die from lack of care or food.  God was with them in finding immediate help and they have been worth every effort.  So sweet and loving and innocent.  Beautiful pups with wiry faces and sleek Terrier bodies that bring a smile when you meet them.  Ross is being neutered on Feb. 4th and will be ready for a forever home on Valentine’s Day.  We estimate that he will grow to be a 40 pound handsome boy that will bring so much fun, love and adventure to the person or persons who adopt him.  If you are wanting a wonderful rescue puppy to raise and love then please consider Ross.   Critter Cavalry Rescue transports from Nashville, Tn to the northeast and of course local Tennessee adoptions are welcome, too.  Please email asking for an application to ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2025, 9:45 pm

Story
This handsome 4.5 month old puppster is called Boy George and he is what you would call….a character.  A Border Collie mix puppy who is smart and mischievous and a leader in life.  He was born in a litter of 8 puppies around the middle of October and he was the biggest kid in the bunch. He is laidback yet very much an involved pup when it comes to creating dog events that are fun and inquisitive.  He is one that doesn’t back down because he knows that he can win the challenge with his tenacity.  Boy George has conquered all the obligations in his life to learn about housebreaking, crate time and how to walk on a leash with at least a B- rating.  Practice will make perfect when in a family that has more one on one time for him.  He is going to be a 55 pound boy once he is grown.  His Mom is Blue Eyed Kaye and she is a wonderful girl with a happy demeanor and has certainly passed it along to all her sweet offspring.  Boy George is a good pup but he is looking for an even smarter owner that will figure him out before he slips one in on you. He is loving and can be an attention grabber because when you are raised in a pack of 8 siblings, you kind of crave some private time for yourself.  Boy George will be a fun pup to raise and one that will excel at puppy training classes.  At 18 weeks of age and 32 pounds, he is a great size to take on car rides, walks on a trail or  your local neighborhood.  He will welcome new dogs and people to meet and did we mention that he LOVES CATS!   To our Boy George they are just another friend in life!   We will require a home with a securely fenced yard so that this boy can explore and hang out in the great outdoors/backyard.  He is not a digger and he is not a fence climber.  But he is a dog that requires the stimulation both physically and mentally every day.  Teach him things and he will make you a proud dog owner. Someone is looking for a dog like this.  Maybe an only dog in the home or just a great addition because he will be play buddies with anyone.  But always know that you must be the leader of your pack and Boy George.  He craves the boundaries and rules.  He thrives best not having his way and is so moldable.  If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live, city and state.  Transport is available to the northeast outside of Tennessee where he is being fostered PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 2, 2025, 10:06 pm

Story
This handsome Red Merle Border Collie is called Red Joe.  A handsome and petite guy that is strangely found himself lost and wondering up to a home in the countryside of Middle Tennessee.  To say he is stunning is an understatement.  He is a young boy that is about 1 year of age and weighing around 40 pounds.  He is inside living a nice warm and cozy foster life with the senior couple who discovered him in their yard.  After weeks of trying to see where he longed, they soon assumed that he was a lost little guy.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him underwing and helping to find the perfect home that understands the intelligence and activity needed to raise a Border Collie.  Training is easy with such a bright and observant dog.  He is ready to watch and learn with a good teacher.  He is housebroken and  pretty good on a leash for having not been training for long.  He is going to be someone’s wonderful prize as a dog companion.  A fenced yard is a must and we are looking for someone that is not gone 9 hours a day.  But of course if needed to be gone continually perhaps a good Doggie Daycare could be used to keep him busy and socially in tune with other dogs.  He is good with dogs now but needs to continually find group time with them during the week if he is the only dog.  Read about the breed if you are not familiar.  They are not couch potatoes although this boy is good with chilling after he has had some activity outside.  Red Joe is soft and sweet and looking for the right owner who is spunky and active themselves!  If you are interested, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  Do mention where you live: city and state.  We transport from Nashville, TN up the northeastern coast.  Out of state adoptions are welcomed. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 12, 2025, 11:16 pm

Story
This boy named Comet has had a story to his life that has not always been comfortable to know about.  He has survived a hip injury that was given an expensive surgery to correct and through all his early two years of owner neglect this boy has nothing but passionate love and sweetness for the people that are in his life.  Our videos are vast and say it all as you observe his desire to kind of absorb himself into his person’s body.  He is pure LOVE and softness as a soul that wants to be with you every minute of the day that you can allow him to be.  He is 2 years old and 47 pounds and a softly furred Border Collie mix boy that adores people and is good with all other animals that he encounters.  Comet is special.  We just cannot describe how special he truly is.  It is something we cannot explain. He is housebroken, crate trained (spent too much time in a crate from a  neglectful home) and he is good on a leash and loves to ride shotgun on car rides with you.  He is truly a dog with a human personality and movements and attitude that go far beyond dog behavior.  We can provide some of the best videos that would give you an open and transparent idea of just how special he is.  If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  He is in Nashville, Tn and can travel northward if you are out of Tennessee. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2025, 2:04 pm

Story
Fiona is a sweet, loving, and rambunctious 1 year old Border Collie whom we purchased from a breeder in early 2024. She is loving, playful and house trained, however my wife who used to work at home had to go back to work into the office and although she is used to being in a crate to sleep she is not getting enough exercise or play time during the day. Ideally she would be happiest in a loving home with a great yard she can play in and a family who has the availability to give her the attention Border Collies need.

Hi, my name is Claire and I am a senior Border Collie. I used to live on a farm with other dogs and animals but my owner passed away. I am now in foster care with S.A.F.E. Animal Haven. I met my BFF here at my foster home and would really like a forever home for the 2 of us! My BFF is Pointer and he is on this website too! I am housebroken, leash trained and generally a good girl. I like to do my own thing and I enjoy playing with Pointer. If you have room for 2, please consider giving Pointer and myself a forever home. You can find an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Pointer is the little one in the picture with me - he has spots.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Ruby is a sweet, fun loving, young female Border Collie mix that is looking for her forever home. She is 2 yrs. old and weighs 26 lbs. Ruby is a very high energy youngster that is enthusiastic about everything! She loves to play fetch with her foster family, along with rough and tumble races with her Border Collie and Aussie foster home buddies. Ruby loves to go for hikes in the woods and for walks in the neighborhood. She loves to stay close with her people, share lap time, snuggles and belly rubs! She walks well on a leash and rides well in a crate in the car. Ruby loves to explore new adventures but is sometimes insecure when meeting new people or dogs. She has shown some fear and reactivity toward young men and small children by barking and will need slow introductions. She has lived with other dogs and got along well with them, and currently gets along well with her foster family’s two dogs. Ruby has not been tested around cats. She has a high prey drive around squirrels and rabbits, so will probably not be a good fit with cats or other small animals. Any children in the home should be at least 12 yrs. old and understand how to interact with a herding breed dog. Ruby sleeps in a crate overnight and while she’s home alone up to four hours. She has shown some separation anxiety from time to time while home alone. Ruby was new to being an indoor dog and has learned most house manners since being in her foster home for the past several months, but will need continued supervision and training. Ruby is eager to learn and is easily corrected with gentle, clear, communication and positive training methods. The best home for Ruby will be with calm owners that are home a lot, have a fenced yard, have time, patience and knowledge of herding breeds and know how to accommodate their high energy. She will also do well with a well-balanced dog playmate with a similar play style, high energy level, and size. A good introduction to the adopter’s dog(s) and family members is required before adoption. Ruby has been fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and current on heartworm and flea & tick prevention. Ruby is being fostered in Fort Mill, SC, in the Charlotte, NC metro area. If you think Ruby will be a good fit for your home and family, please fill out an application with Australian Shepherds Furever. If Ruby sounds perfect for you , please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.

Dash is a sweet 1 1/2 year old boy rescued from a shelter. He is a cuddle bug that loves to receive and give affection. He is house trained and knows basic commands like sit, down, and leave. We would love to keep him, however he does not get along well with our other dog. He would do best in a home without other dogs. We are unsure of how he would do with small children. Dash tested heartworm positive and is currently on medication. He will need additional veterinary care for this very treatable condition. He is has a huge heart and is wonderful with humans, he just needs the right pet-free loving home where he can thrive and give LOTS of cuddles. Please contact if interested!
