Story
Zeus is a10 year-old Brindle Boston mix, 33 pounds of muscle, with a gentle mouth; he's a very loving guy who loves to play with dogs his size.  He's a bit energetic for smaller dogs, but played with our 10# puppy every day. Zeus would love to have a 6 foot fenced yard with room to run and play; he used to jump our 4 foot fence.  He doesn't like cats and doesn't like having his nails cut. Up to date on shots, heartworm negative, crate and house trained.  He's a great dog. Please send your phone number to learn more about Zeus. Story
Well first let’s just say that Pepper is NOT a fru-fru girl that needs to be “pretty in pink”.  This girl is a Boston Terrier/Pit mix puppy who was in a very tough and isolated shelter in West Tennessee and she was the one in a million girl that made it OUT!  She is a lover girl but boy can she keep up with the older and bigger boy dogs in the foster home.  She is a great player all day long and she is tough like a “tomboy”.  She is learning the leash, crate trained and she is working on the housebreaking.  She will forever be your girl that tries the hardest to do everything right.  She is weighing in at 27 pounds and 7 months old and will one day be a 35 pound adult beauty.  We love these Pepper ears and her strong personal determination to hang with the BIG BOYS!  She is the survivor that we saw at the top of the steps in the movie “Rocky”. She has beat some unbelievable odds Some true hurdles that only Pepper and Critter Cavalry Rescue knows about.  If you want to be her Champion Adopter please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com We are happy to show you what a special girl she is. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 12, 2025, 8:03 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Casper (GA) is a male Pit Bull Terrier/Boston/Chihuahua mix (maybe!) estimated to be 5-6 months old at the time of intake in late September 2024. Casper is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped. He will be neutered prior to joining his forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Casper is good with people, other dogs and even cats. This cute little guy was abandoned at a vet's office and fortunately made his way into our rescue and into our hearts! Casper is friendly and super sweet. If you have room in your heart and home for this beautiful boy, please apply online to adopt Casper (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Given technical restrictions on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
Tia – Snuggle enthusiastQuote from foster family: Tia is a snuggle enthusiast who believes personal space is overrated. This little lady loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, being right by your side, and giving sweet kisses. She has a long tail, and when she gets excited or happy to see you, she gives full body wiggles while her tail zig zags in happiness! Once she trusts you, she will fall deeply in love and become completely devoted to her human(s). Given the isolated lifestyle she came from, in a short time, she has made great progress -- learning to navigate a world that she has never known. With time and patience, she’ll continue to blossom into the most precious flower. Tia’s Woof-Facts Name: Tia Breed: Boston Terrier Beagle mix Weight: 27 lbs. Age: 3 years Gender: Female Health: Spayed and up to date on vaccinationsMore InfoForever home recommendations: Tia is looking for a patient, caring and loving home and would thrive with an experienced owner who can help her continue to build confidence. She did not have much exposure to the outside world in her previous home and has been learning to navigate new people and things and is making good progress. Tia will thrive in a quieter home environment that does not have a lot of people coming and going, since it takes her some time to warm up. Her ideal family will need to provide consistency and structure for her, and preferably, not be out of the house for long hours each day. Someone who works from home would be a bonus since Tia loves to be with her “person”. The human(s) in her forever home will also need to continue to help Tia feel more comfortable outside of the home, while understanding that she may need slower introductions to new people and things. Once Tia adjusts to her home environment and trusts her people, she is the sweetest, most cuddly couch-potato and companion. A fenced yard is preferred.   Tia previously lived in an apartment with multiple other dogs. The dogs were cared for by their humans, however, they never experienced the outside world. RHF rescued 5 of the dogs, and they are all in separate foster homes learning how to live their best life. We’re looking for a forever home who will give Tia her very best forever lifeKids: Adult home preferred, home with teenage children may be considered since Tia is a bit timid and fearfulDogs: Got along fine with the multiple dogs while living in her former home. However, she’s more of a people person. She’s completely uninterested in her foster home’s parrot and cockatiel—she prefers to be cuddling with her humans! A home with another dog who is calm and confident may be beneficial, so that dog can help to show Tia the ropes, yet she has been doing fine in her foster home as the only dog. This will be discussed on case-by-case basis.Cats: Unknown?Crate trained: Work in progress. She sleeps soundly in the crate overnight and willingly go right to her crate when her foster mom says “time for bed”. She is also crated several times throughout the day so she can build confidence in being crated for longer periods of time. She currently can be left home alone for a few hours at a time and is feeling more comfortable as we make progress on that.House trained: Working on house training. With supervision, consistency, and frequent potty breaks, she is doing her business outside. She was previously paper-trained but has learned to potty outside in about a week.Leash manners: Currently leash training and her progress is impressive! She’s only just learned how to walk on a leash and with some guidance, she’s polite with her skills and doesn’t pull.    Personality: Tia is a quick learner, having already mastered the stairs, collar wearing, the sit and down command, go to crate/time for bed (treats help too, of course). She is showing great signs that she can follow basic obedience and is eager to please the person she bonds with. She will follow your lead once she trusts you. Tia has a nice balance of energy and doesn’t need endless hours of exercise or demand constant playtime. She can be goofy at times and will get the zoomies. She also likes puzzle toys where she can use her nose to sniff out tasty treats. While she is well-mannered in the house, she should be supervised or crated when left alone until she gains more confidence and acclimates to her new environment. She is the perfect coworking companion, calmly laying in her dog bed while her foster mom works, so bonus points if you have a work-from-home situation. Tia needs time to adjust to new people and situations, but if you go slowly and let her warm-up on her own time, she’ll be your best friend. And, if you like to cook, she’ll be right by your side and will often lay at your feet (waiting for some scraps to fall to the ground – woof!).  How did Tia find herself at Rescue Haven Foundation: RHF rescued Tia through a collaboration with a NYC shelter and a family-in-need. Interested in Tia? Story
Susie – Your shadowQuote from foster family: Susie is the most lovable little dog. Receiving belly rubs and giving kisses are some of her specialties! Whether she’s cuddling with you on the couch or in the bed, following you around the house, going on walks or playing in the yard, she feels best when being by the side of her human.Woof-Facts Name: Susie Breed: Boston Terrier Beagle mix Weight: 25 lbs. Age: 2 years Gender: Female Health: Spayed and up to date on vaccinationsMore InfoForever home recommendations: Susie’s is looking for a home with a patient, caring and loving forever person(s) who is home often. One ideal situation is for her to be with someone who works from home, as Susie would be an excellent coworker, and would sleep nicely in her bed while her human is working close by. She is also OK being home on her own and/or with a canine companion.Susie can be a bit nervous at times, yet this has gotten much better as the days progress since she’s been in her foster home. Therefore, her forever human will need to be patient and help guide Susie along the way as she continues to acclimate to her newly rescued life and into her forever home.Susie previously lived in an apartment with multiple other dogs. The dogs were cared for by their humans, however, they never experienced the outside world. RHF rescued 5 of the dogs, and they are all in separate foster homes learning how to live their best life. Gets along with the other dog in her current foster home–they’re able to sleep together, walk together, and play in the yard together with no issues. Cats: Unknown?Crate trained: Doesn’t love the crate but does OK for short stays. Prefers to sleep either on the couch or in the bedHouse trained: Working on house training, making good progressLeash manners: Currently leash training and doing greatPersonality: Susie is such a sweetie pie, and a dog who truly loves human companionship. Sometimes she’ll follow the other dog around the house and mimic what he’s doing, but most often, she likes to shadow her human. She’s a great listener and attentively responds to the commands that’s she’s already learned. She enjoys various sorts of playtime—whether it’s catch, playing with toys with her human or canine companion, running in the yard or walking in the park.  How did Susie find herself at Rescue Haven Foundation: RHF rescued Susia through a collaboration with a NYC shelter and a family-in-need. Interested in Susie?
