You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Casper (GA) is a male Pit Bull Terrier/Boston/Chihuahua mix (maybe!) estimated to be 5-6 months old at the time of intake in late September 2024. Casper is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped. He will be neutered prior to joining his forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Casper is good with people, other dogs and even cats. This cute little guy was abandoned at a vet's office and fortunately made his way into our rescue and into our hearts! Casper is friendly and super sweet. If you have room in your heart and home for this beautiful boy, please apply online to adopt Casper (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Given technical restrictions on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
Frankie - 5.5 years old, Mixed Breed - Boston Terrier Mix, 30.1lbs, (needs to lose 3lbs), Spayed  Our Team Says: "Frankie needs to be in a grownup only home. Not a good fit for young kids - okay in a home with respectful older teenagers".  Her Foster Parents Say: "Frankie is an incredibly smart, sweet, and loyal dog. She is happiest curled up by your side while you're watching tv or by your feet when you are working. She wants to be with her people at all times. She is ok staying back at home if you need to leave her for 3-4 hours once in a while, but she'd be happiest with a work from home parent or someone that can bring her to work. She finds various ways to communicate, for example she'll tap her water or food bowl when she wants more food or water. She's potty trained and she will let you know when she has to go out by gently pawing at you. Her other favorite activity is playing catch with a ball or chewing on her nylabone. I always feel safe with Frankie by my side at night as she loves to protect her people. She's not a dog that will bark at any random noise, she's incredibly smart, she knows when something is "off" from a normal routine, she'll low growl or bark to let me know when there's a stranger in the stairwell in the middle of the night when they shouldn't be there, for example. Frankie does not like toddlers or young kids. She's stayed with someone who owned a cat and a parrot and got along great with them, so she's ok with other animals. However if there's another dog in the house she may not get along with them unless it's a very laid back dog." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy Level: MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Cuddle Bug Level Higher -- Loves to be near a lap or at your feet  Potty TrainedYes -- Few or no accidents  Comfy with strangers?  Yep -- Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello.  Comfortable with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision) Not a great match for a home with kids -- calm teenagers and up is okay, this pup is either mouthy and rambunctious or sensitive and requires either a low key, quiet home or a grownup only home willing do training  Social with Other Dogs? Mostly -- Generally good with other dogs but may be picky (scared of big dogs or plays too rough for small dogs, for example)  Respectful of Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.)  Yes -- Seems to get along with other animals, either tries to play with them or is mostly uninterested  Mouthy Behavior? Low – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff -- only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones.  Leash Manners? Old Pro – Seems like a dog that has been on leash before. Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction.  Okay in the city? Yes -- Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here. Jumping on People to Say Hi? Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction.  Separation Anxiety? Nope – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty when you leave the apartment or house.  Crate training? Not at all – Don’t even have one, I’ve puppy proofed and we free range.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. She did have a knee surgery to correct her minor patella luxation last year to prevent any future problems down the line. She has no health issues now and her knees are now great: super important for her to not be overweight.  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Berry Kiss is a loving and sweet little girl who has recently been spayed. Her surgery went well, and she is home with me recovering. This is the reason for the cone in some of her photos. For a Boston Terrier, she is on the lower energy side; I would say a 3 on a scale of 1-10. Berry Kiss gets short bursts of energy where she plays with her foster sister, who is another female Boston Terrier. Berry Kiss is 95% house trained. She has only had a few accidents, which I would account for just being in new surroundings. She is excellent on a leash and enjoys walks. On her walk, she loves to greet everyone we pass. She is not very interested in toys but will play a game of chase with her foster sister. She has a good appetite and eats all her breakfast and dinner. She is polite when her foster sister is eating and not territorial at all around her food. Berry Kiss would be great as an only pet or in a home with another dog.  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2335972##

Story
Tia – Snuggle enthusiastQuote from foster home: Tia is a snuggle enthusiast who believes personal space is overrated. This little lady loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, being right by your side, and giving sweet kisses. She has a long tail, and when she gets excited or happy to see you, she gives full body wiggles while her tail zig zags in happiness! Once she trusts you, she will fall deeply in love and become completely devoted. Given the isolated lifestyle she came from, in a short time, she has made great progress. With time and patience, she’ll continue to blossom into the most precious flower.Forever home recommendations: Tia is looking for a patient, caring and loving home and would thrive with an experienced owner who can help her continue to build confidence. She did not have much exposure to the outside world in her previous home and has been learning to navigate new people and things. Tia will thrive in a quieter home environment that does not have a lot of people coming and going, since it takes her some time to warm up. Her ideal family will need to provide consistency and structure for her, and preferably, not be out of the house for long hours each day. Someone who works from home would be a bonus since Tia loves to be with her “person”. The human(s) in her forever home will also need to continue to help Tia feel more comfortable outside of the home, while understanding that she may need slower introductions to new people and things. Once Tia adjusts to her home environment and trusts her people, she is the sweetest, most cuddly couch-potato and companion. A fenced yard is preferred.Tia’s Woof-FactsName: TiaBreed: Boston Terrier Beagle mixWeight: 27 lbs.Age: 3 yearsGender: FemaleHealth: Spayed and up to date on vaccinationsMore InfoPersonality: Tia is a quick learner, having already mastered the stairs, collar wearing, the sit and down command, go to crate/time for bed (treats help too, of course). She is showing great signs that she can follow basic obedience and is eager to please the person she bonds with. She will follow your lead once she trusts you. Tia has a nice balance of energy and doesn’t need endless hours of exercise or demand constant playtime. She can be goofy at times and will get the zoomies. She also likes puzzle toys where she can use her nose to sniff out tasty treats. While she is well-mannered in the house, she should be supervised or crated when left alone until she gains more confidence and acclimates to her new environment. She is the perfect coworking companion, calmly laying in her dog bed while her foster mom works, so bonus points if you have a work-from-home situation. Tia needs time to adjust to new people and situations, but if you go slowly and let her warm-up on her own time, she’ll be your best friend. And, if you like to cook, she’ll be right by your side and will often lay at your feet (waiting for some scraps to fall to the ground – woof!). Kids: Adult home preferred, home with teenage children may be considered since Tia is a bit timid and fearfulDogs: Got along fine with the multiple dogs while living in her former home. However, she’s more of a people person. She’s completely uninterested in her foster home’s parrot and cockatiel—she prefers to be cuddling with her humans! A home with another dog who is calm and confident may be beneficial, so that dog can help to show Tia the ropes, yet she has been doing fine in her foster home as the only dog. This will be discussed on case-by-case basis.Cats: Unknown?Crate trained: Work in progress. She sleeps soundly in the crate overnight and will go to her crate willingly when her foster mom says “time for bed”. She is also crated several times throughout the day so she can build confidence in being crated for longer periods of time. She currently can be left home alone for a few hours at a time and is feeling more comfortable as we make progress on that.House trained: Working on house training. With supervision, consistency, and frequent potty breaks, she is doing her business outside. She was previously paper trained but has learned to potty outside in about a weeks time..  Leash manners: Currently leash training and her progress is impressive! She’s only just learned how to walk on a leash and with some guidance, she’s polite with her skills and doesn’t pull.    How did Tia find herself at Rescue Haven Foundation: RHF rescued Tia through a collaboration with a NYC shelter and a family-in-need. Tia previously lived in an apartment with multiple other dogs. The dogs were cared for by their humans, however, they never experienced the outside world. RHF rescued 5 of the dogs, and they are all in separate foster homes learning how to live their best life. We’re looking for a forever home who will give Tia her very best forever lifeInterested in Tia? Fill out an application at rescuehaven.orgMarch 26, 2025, 12:02 pm

Story
Meet Brown🧡 Brown was rescued from a slaughterhouse at a young age, together with his 4 siblings, including Tom and Kleon. * With People: Interacts well with people! Sniffs when a stranger approaches but feels awkward with touch and tends to move away. If there are treats, he will stay close, but without them, he still finds touch a bit strange. * With Dogs: Is not interested in other dogs and enjoys his alone time. 🐶 * With Cats: He gets overly excited when seeing cats, so it’s best to avoid encounters. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as he resides with other dogs at the center. * Potty Training: Currently does only outdoor potty breaks at the center. * Hygiene: Is calm during baths. Though nervous and stiff during drying, he handles it well. Shows mild dislike during nail trimming but is never aggressive. Tolerates short brushing sessions. * Walks: Enjoys walking without any leash-pulling, keeping pace comfortably! 🐕 * Car sickness: He rests comfortably in the car without any signs of motion sickness. 💟Special Notes💟 * Feels more comfortable with a collar than a harness. * Is very independent. Loves his alone time and enjoys lying down to rest. ❗Health Condition ❗ * Neutered. * Microchipped. * His ear was bitten and torn by another dog at our center, and is now being treated.

Story
Meet Klein💚 Klein was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Jeongeup as a young puppy, along with her four siblings. The group was placed in Jeongeup Shelter, where they lived for about a year before being put on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, ADogs stepped in and rescued Klein and her siblings just in time. • With People: Klein is a gentle and sweet-natured dog, but she is a bit shy around new people. She doesn’t immediately approach strangers but wears an adorable smile and warms up over time. If you offer her a treat, she will quickly gain confidence and even show her affectionate side! • With Dogs: She gets along well with other dogs and had a great relationship with her siblings. At the shelter, she socializes easily and does well in group settings. • With Cats: She has never been introduced to cats, so her reaction is unknown. • Separation Anxiety: Since she currently lives in a shelter, it’s unclear if she experiences separation anxiety. She may need some training and adjustment when transitioning to a home. • Potty Training: She is used to outdoor potty training at the shelter and may need guidance when transitioning to an indoor environment. • Grooming & Handling: Klein is very easygoing and allows bathing, drying, and nail trimming without fuss! • Walking & Socialization: She loves going on walks and has been trained well at school, so she doesn’t pull on the leash. She enjoys exploring and is a polite walking companion. • Car Rides: She does not experience motion sickness and rests calmly in the car during travel.
