Story
Atticus is a friendly 7 month old puppy described as a “sweet big baby who loves to give kisses”. He weighs 58 pounds and probably still has some growing left to do. Atticus will be a super addition to an active family where he can be included in daily activities. He loves being with people, going on walks and frolicking in water. He would make a great hiking buddy. His foster mom says “Atticus is a good boy who loves life inside and outside! He plays hard and loves big. He adores my husband. He does great in his crate..sleeps all night. He walks well on the leash. He loves to play with other dogs and does best with bigger dogs because he is just a puppy and doesn’t appreciate his own size. He is patient and calm when I give him a bath.” Atticus is crate trained and nearly housebroken. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventives. If you think Atticus is the perfect boy to join your family, please email bigyellowdog.wendy@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Sweet little Phoebe is a 3 month old mixed puppy and she is ready for her forever home. This Very Good Girl has been a model houseguest in her foster home, getting along great with the adult dogs & her litter mates, and playing with young children. She is smart, well socialized, and eager to please. She is going to make a welcome addition to her new home! Phoebe Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. Story
What we know about Gus: Great with dogs Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) Awesome temperament Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus is located in East, TN. But if you are seeing this on adopt-a-pet, transport fees are included in the adoption fee. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Transport is available to your area in the NorthEast or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road (Rescue Riders Transport)! What we know about Gus: Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Has lived with kids and another dog previously Awesome temperament NO cats Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus came to us extremely underweight, nearly bald, with open wounds all over his body due to Demodex mange. He has since recovered fully and is ready to find his forever family! Gus was far too interested in the cats when we cat tested him as his herding instincts are present with these types of animals. However, he is great with other dogs and we use him to help introduce new dogs to the rescue. He also does fantastic with the 3 year old human on the rescue property! Gus has gone out on multiple Doggie Day Outs and did so well each time! He was his happiest self at the dog park with his rescue buddy (Folly) who has since been adopted. He likes to meet new people and go for car rides! We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 Note: Since Gus has a history of Demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to this condition if he does not take flea/tick prevention regularly. He is currently on Simparica Trio and doing so well. Please let us know if you have any questions about this condition!

Story
Available for adoption! Clyde has boundless energy, extraordinary stamina and a rich imagination. Here he is adopting his Navy Seal persona ready to take on his current nemesis, falling leaves. He can't wait to join you in heading to the woods.  Greetings, Clyde here! You should know I am all puppy and full of puppy energy and I am not a fan of the word "off", I need you to know I need your attention. But if you can help me understand that I can count on you I will be better. I have learned that I do not have too bark "me first" when meals are served as I know my bowl is coming if I just wait. I would love to have a fenced in yard (not electric) to run & play in with my furever family, kids, but not too small, would be a plus as we could wear each other out. So if you can open your heart & home I will promise you unconditional love! Please send an email to the Rescue (WOW.Rescue@yahoo.com) for information & an application for my adoption. Whitey's Only Wish is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue. Donations are deductible as permitted by law.
