Story
Brody is still all puppy. Sweet, silly, rambunctious! He’s a very lovable guy who’s silly , fun and playful. This guy is the shelter favorite. Everyone at the shelter loves him! He will need some training due to his puppiness. The aco (animal control officer) tells a story of how Brody likes to ambush him out in the yard when he wants to play. He’s a silly goober. But he’s leash trained. Vaccinated, neutered, hw-. Ready to join his new family or his new significant other. Be it!! BE HIS HERO!!

Story
This adorable boy is Glenn. He is one-year-old and weighs 36 lb. We think Glenn is a boxer mix. Glenn arrived at DAWS when he was just 5 months old. Within a week, he became very sick and was diagnosed with inflammatory meningitis. Glenn showed us what a fighter he is and was able to overcome the acute illness. He is now ready to find his forever home! This champion pup is incredibly sweet and calm. He walks nicely on a leash and just wants to be with his people and chill out. He likes other dogs and would be fine with children. Glenn is on medication that will be provided at cost through our Angel Pet program. We have every expectation that he will live a long, full life like every dog deserves. Glenn has won all of our hearts at DAWS and our hope is to find him a family that will love him just as much as we do. Glenn is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Glenn, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Story
Lucy had a hard life, and has the scars to show it. She was picked up from animal control and spent some time in doggie jail. She was lucky to cross the path of a kind person to get her out and got her vetting done. Heart worm treatment was done so she came into foster care. She is now looking for the perfect home to call her very own. Lucy is a bundle of energy. So a fenced yard would be great for her. A family that can take her on outdoor adventures would make this girl happy. She will need some training in manners, she likes to jump up & doesn't realize how big she is. She loves her stuffies and has not torn a one up. She gets along very well with all the dogs in foster care, little ones & big ones. She takes cues from them very well and doesn't push her luck when they say nope don't want to play. A buddy would be great for her that has the play power as her. She would love to find her forever home and putting her old life behind her. Lucy is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested posfor heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! Story
Miranda is a very sweet young girl who is living life as a queen now. She hadn't been able to live that life before rescue stepped in. She has learned to trust her human and gets along great with all the other foster dogs/pups. She is completely housetrained and will sit for treats. She loves to give kisses and loves to receive them as well. Watch her video on youtube - https://youtu.be/TvQD6IpMO8Y You can tell by watching the video, she is a people-pleaser and loves to listen to her human and receive the love and affection she can get! Miranda is crate and house-trained and has learned how to use a doggie door. She is very smart and is a fast learner. She is shy at first and is learning that she can trust humans again. Once she gets familiar with her surroundings, she does well. She would make a great addition to any family. She would love to stretch her legs by going on a walk, jog, or hike with her human. Miranda does enjoy being a couch potato and enjoys snuggling with her human but is just as pleased to snuggle up on her doggie bed for a good nap. If you are looking for a great companion that is already housetrained, then look no further than Miranda! Miranda is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has been treated for heartworms, and is ready to be adopted. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. Story
Meet Lottie - an adorable female dog with a heart of gold and an abundance of love to give. This gentle and friendly pup is full of affection, and she's sure to win over your heart with her playful antics and goofy personality. Athletic and full of energy, Lottie loves spending time outdoors and is always up for a game of fetch or an adventure in the park. She is particularly fond of water and will eagerly splash around in any nearby pond or pool. One of the sweetest traits about Lottie is her calm and gentle nature, making her an ideal companion for those seeking a peaceful and low-maintenance furry friend. Lottie does not care for her chicken friends, unfortunately. Lottie is crate-trained and housebroken. If you are looking for a four-legged friend who will bring laughter and joy to your life, Lottie is the perfect match for you. Don't let this special girl pass you by - apply to adopt Lottie today and open your heart to unconditional love and endless cuddles! During Lottie's spay appointment, the vet noticed a slight limp in her front right leg. An X-ray revealed a bullet causing secondary arthritis. The vet advised against removing the bullet and also said that Lottie would need a daily anti-inflammatory for the rest of her life. Lottie doesn't let her arthritis stop her. She loves to run and play. We think it might be one of the reasons she loves the water. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested positive for heartworms and has been treated in our care.
