Story
Chico young, energetic and full of enthusiasm. He loves to run around and play. Needs a home that will keep up with his high energy. Preferably an owner that is also high energy and will go on long walks or park visits to allow Chico to release his energy. He is very smart, answers to his name and follows commands, sit, laydown, come and leave it. Is initially shy around humans but once he gets acquainted he is extremely friendly and playful. When shy or timid he shows no aggression. Age: 2.5 years Weight: 54 lbs Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative. Temperament: Good with dogs and probably older sturdy kids because of his energy level. Training: House-trained For questions about Chico, please email dtv.diyora@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.

Story
Meet Cooper, a young, exuberant dog, who is ever so sweet. He has two paw print markings on his side to show just how special he is. His tail wags the moment you talk to him. Cooper was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears, Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition. He is working on gaining weight. Despite his ravenous appetite, he'd rather stop mid bite to get pets and check in with his foster parents. It also seems that he has never had a bed before, but he's really enjoying sinking down in the comfort of a soft bed for a good snooze. He has done well with other resident dogs of all sizes, even a small reactive terrier. Cooper is learning to walk on a leash and to sit and wait (rather than jump) for attention. He’s been a quick learner! He's also been willing to sit calmly in the back seat during car rides. While he is still fairly new to his foster family, thus far he has proven to be non-destructive and able to be on his own, although he would much rather be right by your side. Cooper loves people and is ready to follow you anywhere or run after a kicked soccer ball. Despite his past, he is still a happy boy exuding an infectious energy that brightens the day. He would make a delightful addition to any family. Story
Lucy is a beautiful little Boxer mix girl, about 10 years old and 40 lbs, who loves going for walks and playing outdoors.  She’s had a fair amount of training and knows her basic commands, but as with any dog, she could use an owner who will keep up her training. Lucy is cautious upon meeting new people but once she trusts you, her loving side shines through.  She has a strong personality that requires an experienced dog owner. Lucy loves to go for rides in the car, walks at the park, swimming, playing with her toys, and spending time with her favorite volunteers. She has spent far too long waiting for her forever family to come along (almost 7 years in the shelter...). Adopters are often turned off by the fact that she will require multiple meets to learn its ok to trust you. Will anybody take the time to love Lucy..? If you’d be interested in meeting Lucy, please fill out an application and be sure to mention her name!August 19, 2024, 7:22 am

Story
Meet Violet Beauregarde Lonestar, a 6.5-year-old, 60-pound bundle of energy! Saved from a Texas shelter with minutes to spare, this beautiful girl is eager to find her forever home. She would thrive with active owners who can match her energy level, and although she's good with dogs, she appreciates canine friends who mind their manners. Violet loves a good game of fetch and will spend hours in our kiddie pools if we let her.  Violet is excellent in the car and a superb walking companion; she even enjoys a good run with her volunteer friends. She is sweet and cuddly but sometimes prone to over-excitement, so she would do best in a home with older children, if any. An owner with some dog experience, who can provide structure, rules, and a quiet home will be her perfect match. Since she can become protective of her people and space, she may need to be put away when guests come over, but she's perfectly fine with that! Ready to give Violet Beauregarde Lonestar the loving environment she deserves? Fill out a canine application and mention her name!August 19, 2024, 7:22 am

Story
SeaBiscuit here, looking to sail away to a good home! I narrowly escaped being euthanized for space at an overcrowded shelter but a kind family saw my photo and decided to foster me. Sea is 2-3 years old and 62lbs. My fosters say I just melt into them and can’t get enough cuddling and snuggling. I am good with their teenage daughter and love her so much. I am friendly, playful, fun, know sit, give kisses, affectionate. I am house trained and crate trained. I know sit, lay down commands and I am working on touch, focus, turn, and stay commands. What else do you need to know? I was going to put this message in a bottle but people tell me the internet is faster. So, please consider me, SeaBiscuit and allow me to sail into your home and heart!
