Story
Winston was discovered in Port Jervis, tied to a guardrail, emaciated and filthy. Upon arrival, he exhibited no manners and was smeared with his own feces, likely having spent his entire life in a crate. Through diligent work and positive reinforcement, he has made remarkable progress. He's learning to give and receive love, enjoys playing with tennis balls, but can become overexcited with toys, so he requires slow and consistent training. With the right home, Winston has the potential to be an extraordinary companion. Consider applying to meet Winston today and provide him with the loving life he has always deserved but never experienced.

Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 4, 2025, 12:35 pm

Story
Hero came to PCHS as a local stray unclaimed. He was traveling with another dog, that was hit and killed by a car. Hero is a very active dog, adjusting well to having daily care and TLC. He is housebroken, but will need additional leash walking training. Hero is food motivated. He would benefit with an active home and lifestyle with reassurance. Hero loves to splash around in water! If you have another dog, meet and greet is required. We believe Hero will be a loyal companion.

Story
Petey is a gigantic goof who does not know he's almost 90 pounds! This handsome hunk is as silly as they come and has plenty of energy for any outdoor activity. But of course, Petey contains multitudes... at home, he's a total couch potato and loves the calm and quiet pace that only a home can provide. Petey loves to play fetch and willingly shares his toys during playtime! He takes treats very softly and enjoys belly rubs. Petey loves every adult he meets when he's out and about but needs to live in an adult-only home! According to Petey, cats make great toys... so for the sake of cats everywhere, we're putting a stop to that, too. To recap: Tons (90 pounds) of fun? CHECK Goof with no idea he's 90 pounds? CHECK Rude around kids? CHECK Kind of a jerk to cats? CHECK Not interested in sharing a home with other dogs? CHECK Missed the puppy school class titled "Sharing Is Caring"? CHECK Great couch warmer? ALSO CHECK If Petey checks all the right boxes for you, fill out an application at the link below! Story
Clovis arrived from ACO, frail and extremely thin, unable to even stand. Terrified and defensive, we conducted bloodwork and began feeding him small meals several times a day. Gradually, he gained weight and started feeling better. Now nearly 60 pounds, he has returned to his true self. He's affectionate, eager to please, and yearns for companionship. We've all grown to love him here. Could you be the one to offer Clovis the forever home he needs? All he requires is nourishment, a soft bed, and abundant love. Let's provide this deserving soul with the home he's always needed but never had. Clovis would do best as the only pet in the home, he needs all the attention

Story
Clark is a 1 year old male Pit Bull mix weighing 54 pounds. He is affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is playful, enjoys his chew toys and absolutely adores water. Clark would do best with a female dog in the home. We don’t know this poor baby’s history but we do know he experienced a botched attempt at clipping his ears. They may not be pretty but he makes up for it in personality. Clark is neutered, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped.
