Story
Meet Rocket, the handsome floofy boy with the big personality, who is ready to find his fur-ever home! This very friendly feline is eager to shower his new family with affection and entertain with his energetic antics. Rocket's outgoing and playful spirit make him the perfect companion for anyone seeking a fluffy friend. He loves attention, cuddles, and being brushed, but also zooming around his room playing with his toys. If you're ready to open your heart to a sweet and sociable cat, Rocket is the one for you. Adopt Rocket today and let the love and cuddles begin! We don't know much about this man of mystery's history as he came in to the SPCA as a stray. We know he has been around other cats but we don't know how he would feel about sharing his home with a dog, small animal, or children. With proper slow introductions we think Rocket could probably be fine with animals and kids as he seems to get along with most anyone, though he may be a bit too rambunctious for really small children. When Rocket came to the SPCA he was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection which was quite persistent. After treatment he's feeling like a new cat and so happy. Adopters will need to be prepared, however, for the small possibility that he may be prone to URI as he could now be a carrier for Calicivirus (a virus causing URI and contagious to other cats). We recommend Rocket either be the only cat in the home or make sure that other cats are either already exposed to calici or kept up to date on vaccines. Rocket needs to be an indoor only cat as well. *Rocket isn't quite ready to be adopted but hopefully will be soon. Local adopters may have the option to foster to adopt. Ask staff for more info.An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.Do you think you could be Rocket's person? Here are some ways to find out:1. Story
Kiki, a resilient feline with a heart of gold, is on the lookout for her forever home. Despite facing mobility challenges, she exudes an undeniable spirit and zest for life. This courageous cat navigates her surroundings with determination and grace, never letting her limitations or age dampen her playful personality. Kiki's gentle demeanor and affectionate nature make her the perfect companion for someone who understands the beauty of unconditional love. With proper care and a supportive environment, Kiki will undoubtedly thrive, bringing joy and warmth to any household lucky enough to welcome her into their hearts. She will likely need injections or medication for arthritis going forward as well as a special diet to help her maintain a healthy weight to reduce the load on her joints as well as to avoid allergic reactions that she has shown likely from a sensitivity to certain foods. Inquire with Kamloops branch staff for more information. If you are interested in adopting sweet Kiki and giving the love she so craves, please fill out an adoption application and submit it online at https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ or visit the animal center during our viewing hours of 1pm-4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Story
Binky is a sweet senior miss who sadly came to the SPCA when her elderly guardian went into the hospital. She is a friendly and affectionate lady who now finds herself looking for a new person to share her abundant love with in her golden years. Binky enjoys the finer things in life like cuddles, yummy treats, and long naps on cozy blankets. She would probably be happiest in a bit of a quieter home without children. We're not sure if she's ever lived with other animals before and may be used to being the only pet in the home. Binky is a loving girl who will make a wonderful companion. Being a senior cat it is particularly important to keep up with regular vet check ups to keep her happy and healthy. Binky is a little bit chubby around her mid section so a proper diet is important as well to help her trim down. Will you be the one to give Binky the love she is so missing and spoil her? She will make a wonderful companion.*BINKY JUST HAD DENTAL SURGERY AND IS NOT READY TO GO HOME JUST YET BUT SOON WILL BE. Story
Meet Frank! Frank is your typical tuxedo kitten, full of charm, love and sillies. he loves playing with his siblings, or curling up for some good old fashioned kitten cuddles. Kittens are a big responsibility, but patience and dedicated hard work, they can be such an incredible addition to anyone's life. Frank came to the SPCA from a rural property with an enormous amount of cats & kittens (300+). Because of this rough start to his life, he has been exposed to various parasites and viruses that can affect cats. he has undergone treatments for all the parasites, been vaccinated, and is now healthy. However, because of his exposure to Calicivirus and other things, there is a small possibility of him now being a carrier and because of this he needs to be an indoor cat and either be the only feline in his home or with a cat who has had the same exposure (there are lots of cats from the same property looking for homes) and up to date on vaccinations. Ask SPCA staff for more information regarding his history. An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.Do you think you could be Frank's person?
