Story
~Foster to Adopt~Hi friends, my name is Beau—the most handsome, dashing, and charming 15-year-old black cat you will ever meet.I have been to MaxFund twice. The first time was because my previous owner was moving into a memory care facility. I eventually found my new owner and thought things were going well, until one day I ended up here again. But, after several months I was lucky enough to find a loving foster home! Sadly, my fosters were unable to care for me long term so I am back at the shelter. Though, I am shy at first, I eventually warm up to people. I am very playful (for an old guy) and I never met a wand toy or laser that didn’t instantly get my attention. My most recent foster mom carried me around like a clutch, which is funny because I didn’t like to be picked up at the shelter. In fact, I really started to come out of my shell in my foster home. I even got along with the family dog!Every cat’s wish is for a forever home with a forever family. Would you consider taking in a sweet old guy?

Story
Who’s the new love of your life? Me that`s who. Yep, my name is Who. I am a beautiful, sweet, 14 years young lady who will warm your heart as soon as you meet me. I came to MaxFund with a cat brother who I lived with for most of my life. Our human needed to relinquish us because she moved in with people who were allergic to cats. It was especially hard on me as my brother looked out for me and was really outgoing so he was quickly adopted once we got here, leaving me all alone. The good thing is that there are other nice cats here even if I am really shy and don’t get out much. I guess I am a bit of an introvert now that I have experienced this heartbreak. Here at the shelter, I have a great domed bed that allows me to hide out when I want and watch all the action in my room from safety and warmth. I do get along with children and other calm cats who respect my space. I have a nice toy mouse that I like, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle. Boy, can I cuddle better than most. Especially if you walk up to my second story apartment, I will rub up against you, give you kisses, and rest my head on your shoulder.Who has been in foster for the past year. She continues to do well in foster. She is on thyroid medication, gets monthly solensia injections for arthritis, and has recently been diagnosed with HCM, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This is a serious heart condition and our medical team is treating it. We just added a heart medication to her daily regimen. As HCM progresses in her heart, it is likely additionally medications will be necessary. If you are interested in adopting Who or have further questions about her, please email fostercats@maxfund.org and our Cat Foster Coordinator will contact you.

Story
Hi friends! My name is Otter and I am as cute as my name implies. (Otters are sooo cute!). Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a very social 12-year old boy who loves to be near people. I will most certainly be in your lap within minutes of meeting you. I can be a real talker, but I won’t keep you up at night, promise! Playing with wand toys and a laser pointer are some of my favorite hobbies. I don’t like to brag, but I’ve been told that if joyfully watching birds and squirrels out of my window was an Olympic sport, I would win the gold medal. Not much fazes me. I am fine around kids and other cats as I previously lived with both. Thanks to the volunteers, I have recently started enjoying walks around the shelter in a harness safely attached to a leash. I get to explore all the nooks and crannies while being my adorable panther self. I had my right eye removed due to a chronic disease that was negatively affecting me. I am doing so much better since the enucleation! And let’s be honest, I look pretty darn cute as a one-eyed panther kitty. I was brought to MaxFund almost 2 years ago because my guardian was working long hours and felt he no longer had time for me. I was extremely sad to lose my home. I’ve been here too long and would love to be chosen to be part of a forever family again. Naturally, MaxFund’s wonderful staff and volunteers make me feel loved, however there’s nothing quite like a forever home with a forever family. I am diabetic but please don`t let that deter you! I need twice daily insulin shots and I eat special food. I take my insulin like a champ and I love food so I’m a very good eater. MaxFund staff will show you how to administer my insulin, super easy. I`d love for you to come meet me! I’m quite easy to fall in love with, I really am. If you`d like more info about me you can email our Cat Foster Coordinator at fostercats@maxfund.org

Story
Hello friends! My name is Jackson, I am a 14 year old, neutered male, medium-haired cat. I was relinquished to MaxFund October 2023 by no fault of my own, and now I am looking for my fur-ever home!I`m a beautiful orange and white short-haired guy with adorably long hears and mesmerizing green eyes. One of the staff members says I have eyes like beautiful sea glass. Don`t you think I kind of look like an orange Creamsicle??I am a sugary sweet, easy-going boy who loves to be brushed and picked up. Also, I like tummy rubs .I`m a purring machine - I purr like a motorboat. I lived very successfully with an energetic, talkative small dog. At the shelter, I have spent time around my cat buddies, Otter and Basil, and we all get along just fine!If you want a gentle, easy-going boy, that`s me!One important thing about me is that I am diabetic. I require twice daily insulin injections and must eat special food. Sadly for me, I cannot have any table food but that`s ok, just give me extra snuggles and we`ll call it even. I am available as Short-Term Foster with intent to adopt. Please reach out to fostercats@maxfund.org if you want more information about me!If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me! The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 - 4:30, Closed 12:00 - 1:00 for lunch.

Story
Hello Lovely Hoomans, I`m Basil, a beautiful 12 year old grey and white short-haired guy with an adorable pink nose and matching nose freckles!I love to be brushed and give gentle head butts. Cat research shows that both of these traits reveal I am a trusting, loving soul who wants to be near humans! So, if you want a gentle, easy-going boy, that`s me! I`m just 12 years old – plenty of healthy years left as you can see by my mesmerizing green eyes and alert ears! I do need to be in a home where I can give and receive lots of affection, so a single person working away from home all the time would be hard on me. On the other hand, folks working from home who can give me time, and anyone who has kids, would be great. Better yet- also adopt one of my cat buddies, such as Otter or Jackson, who are also at the shelter. I get along great with both of them. I am diabetic but please don`t let that deter you! I need twice/ daily insulin shots with a very small needle. This does not hurt me (easily goes into my scruff) and is either given immediately after I eat or while I`m eating. I make it easy because I`m very food motivated! Our vet staff will show you how to give insulin. In fact, one of my human friends, who is 76 years old, easily gives insulin to her cat. Won`t you please visit me... and maybe even brush me, tee-hee. I`ll be waiting for you! One more thing - check out the picture of me IN A HARNESS! The volunteers are letting me walk around the shelter safely in a harness and I love it! They say I`m harness trained but really, I trained them to walk me!If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me! The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 - 4:30, Closed 12:00 - 1:00 for lunch.
