Story
Name: Graham Breed: Domestic Long Hair Sex: Neutered Male Age: 6 years Weight: 13 lbs Has Medical Needs Good with dogs? Yes, with a slow and proper introduction. Good with cats? He previously lived with other cats and enjoyed their companionship. He’d be thrilled to have a friend who is also FeLV-positive! Good with kids? Not Tested but may do well with kids that respect his boundaries. Energy level: Low, he loves to nap and cuddle. Medical needs: Graham is a special kitty because he is living with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). While this means he requires some extra care, he is still capable of leading a happy and full life. FeLV can affect a cat's immune system, so it's essential that he live indoors and receive regular veterinary check-ups to monitor his health. Please contact adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions about his medical needs. Animal Characteristics: Graham is a big, beautiful, sweet boy who deserves a loving, peaceful home where he can be pampered. He was abandoned and put outside to fend for himself when his prior owner became ill. Graham may be shy at first and seek out cozy boxes to snuggle into, then he is quite affectionate as he warms up to new humans. He will wind around your legs as you walk and rub against you! He is gentle, enjoys being petted and snuggling, and purrs with happiness. He’s also very talkative and will meow adorably for attention and company! Why should you consider adopting an FELV cat? Adopting a FeLV (feline leukemia virus) cat is an act of pure love and compassion that can bring immense joy to your life! These special kitties, despite their unique challenges, are just as playful, loving, and deserving of a forever home as any other cat. Here's why you should consider welcoming one into your heart and home: 🌟 A Unique Bond: FeLV cats often form incredibly close bonds with their humans, cherishing every moment of love and attention you give them. 💖 They Deserve a Second Chance: FeLV-positive cats are sometimes overlooked in shelters, but they have so much life and love to share! By adopting one, you're giving them the chance to thrive in a safe and caring environment. 😻 Loving Companions: FeLV-positive cats are just as affectionate and full of personality as other cats. They’ll fill your days with purrs, cuddles, and endless cuteness. ✨ Quality of Life Matters: These cats might have a shorter lifespan, but what truly matters is the quality of the time you spend together. Your home can be their sanctuary, where they can live happily and comfortably. 🏡 A Special Kind of Heroism: Adopting a FeLV-positive cat means becoming a champion for the underdog (or undercat!) and showing the world that every life, no matter the challenges, is worth celebrating. By choosing to adopt an FeLV cat, you’re not just rescuing them—you’re making your life brighter and more meaningful. They’ll teach you lessons in resilience, gratitude, and unconditional love. 💕 Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Story
Name: Mr. Crinkles Breed: Domestic Short Hair Sex: Neutered Male Age: 8.5 years Weight: 15 lbs Good with dogs? Not Tested Good with cats? Not Tested Good with kids? Not Tested Energy level: Low; he plays with some toys and enjoys looking out the window or keeping his humans company. Medical/Behavioral needs: Mr. Crinkles has cute, curly ears, but no known ear trouble. He is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. He is currently asymptomatic and in good health. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite. Animal Characteristics: Mr. Crinkles is a big, sweet, cuddly love bug who adores attention. He will rub against you, nose boop and roll over on his back to have his belly rubbed. His dream is to spend his days sitting beside his human and his nights snuggled up sleeping with you. He is shy at first and appreciates a peaceful environment, but once he is cozy in his forever home, he will enjoy being picked up, hugged and snuggled.
