Story
10 Years old Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Pooper is a shy girl who needs a minute to warm up to her new person, but when she does, she will be on your lap expecting cuddles and scritches! She is missing her elderly mom who has dementia and had to move into a long term care home where pets are not allowed. She loves her comfy plush bed pushed up next to the warm radiator where she can take long naps with her favourite carrot toy. She would do best in a quiet home with no other pets or young children. She would love to be the focus of your attention after she's had some time to settle in. She LOVES her treats and Churu tubes are a favourite, so keep those on hand for bribes! As you can see from her photo, she's excellent at Zoom calls! Grey Poupon is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service. If you need more info or would like to adopt please contact Suzanne at ahomeforpooper@gmail.com or 416-738-7543. Thank you!

Story
Microchipped, DOB October 18, 2017 FIV Positive Franklin is a shy cat. He needs time to open up and come out of his shell. Franklin loves cats and birds and he will spend time with other pets but he is still shy around people. Franklin was rescued from a hoarding situation and he seems to have to a hard time trusting people. Franklin is well suited for someone who would keep Franklin as the only pet in the house or with one other pet. Franklin requires love and time to shine so a busy house with many cats will be difficult. Franklin has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test!

Story
DOB: November 20, 2018 Hi there. I'm Mystique! I am an adult tortoiseshell. Contrary to my name, I cannot shapeshift, nor do I have mutant powers. I would like to start off by saying that I am an extra-sweet cat. That's right, I'm diabetic! However, I do not let this get in the way of living my best life. I enjoy playing with all sorts of toys, my favourite being feathered toys on a wire stick. I also prefer to sit and nap close to my human, but I do enjoy my own personal space too from time-to-time. While I haven't yet shown any signs of being a lap cat with my foster dad, I do enjoy sitting close and sleeping in my cat bed next to my foster's bed and offering many slow blinks! I have lots of love to give. The rumours of 'tortietude' are really just that; rumours! I enjoy being brushed, however when I get into a sideways laying position, it is my way of saying that I am done for now. I am tolerable to being held, but not for too long. I have very good litter habits and eat and drink just fine. I can be very stressed at first when adjusting to a new environment, and just need a few days to decompress. I used to be skittish around new visitors coming into my home, but now I approach them with curiosity, and sometimes I give them kisses! I have been doing much better with visitors in my home. Mystique is a sweet, beautiful girl who has come a long way. She is currently diabetic and while in foster, she has yet to achieve remission. However, her glucose can managed well with two shots of insulin a day, every 12 hours. While in foster, Mystique's foster dad and TCR's health team have been able to determine how much insulin to administer depending on her current BG level. Mystique is strictly on wet food due to her diabetes, and she has no issues with eating. She has lost some weight while in foster care (possibly due to wet food diet but also a result of being diabetic), though fortunately her weight loss has begun to level off. Her weight should continue to be monitored often, along with her blood glucose levels. Mystique would do well in a quiet, single-pet home, as it is currently unknown whether she can do well with other cats or other pets in general. In any case, Mystique is best suited for anyone with experience in caring for diabetic cats, or anyone willing to learn. If there is one thing Mystique has taught her foster dad, it is that caring for and managing the blood sugar of an extra-sweet kitty is not as daunting as it seems! Are you the right home for the lovely Mystique?

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Microchipped, DOB March 23, 2023 Baked Bean is a very sweet, friendly and playful cat. He still has kitten energy and loves exploring the house and playing with his cat toys. He loves people and is always by your side as you go about your day. His favourite napping spot is on your lap and his favourite thing is getting attention from his favourite humans. Baked Bean can sometime nip during play when he gets overexcited but he is already learning to have more control and has made incredible progress. He is a wonderful ball of energy and a great, friendly presence to have around the house and anyone would be lucky make him the latest addition to their family! Baked Bean has a genetic skin condition called Ehlers Danlos syndrome. This conditions causes his skin to be extra stretchy and sensitive to bites, licks and scratches. Because of this, Baked Bean has to be dressed in a onesie and fitted with a cone at all times - without these, he is in danger of hurting himself by breaking open his skin and creating wounds. There is unfortunately no cure but the condition can be managed with vigilance and the clothes/cone. It is also recommended that he live in a single pet household as another pet can accidentally hurt him during play and that any cat play dates be supervised closely. He is still extremely playful and does not mind wearing the cone and onesie! Thank you for welcoming a special needs cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $225.

Story
Microchipped, DOB: Dec 28, 2017 Mookie embodies the essence of a true gentleman who prefers subtle interactions and peaceful coexistence with his humans. He exudes a calm and sophisticated vibe, making him an excellent companion for those who appreciate a laid-back pet. Mookie’s refined exterior hides a few delightfully quirky traits that make him all the more charming. When he’s lounging on the couch next to you, he’ll subtly rest his paw on your leg, as if to say, "I'm here, but I'm also low-key claiming this spot as mine." It's a gesture that speaks volumes about his understated confidence and his knack for making his presence known without being pushy. Mookie has been in foster care for a year and is ready to settle into a place to call his own. Although he hasn't found his perfect match yet, one thing is certain, his resilience and enduring spirit ALWAYS shine through. Mookie does require some special care due to skin issues. He has a hypoallergenic prescription diet as well as medication. While this could seem overwhelming, Mookie's easygoing nature makes the process completely manageable. His medication is given to him directly into his mouth and he’s very calm about it, making the process less stressful for both him and his humans. Mookie is truly a loving and affectionate companion who can’t wait to bring joy and companionship to his forever home.
