We encourage all prospective adopters to do their own evaluation. From her current family: "Choco is one unique tuxedo feline-super social, always wanting to be the center of attention, but these attributes also require an experienced cat/kitten parent. She loves to play more than anything else, so will need more attention than the average cat. H absolutely love her, but our resident cat (11-year-old male) has had a tough time sharing his space. Being stressed is no way to live for either, so we've made the decision to rehome her with someone that will give her the love and care she deserves. The Cute Stuff· She adores windows and perches, and they keep her entertained for hours. She loves head/nose boops and chin scratches, and flops on her belly when wanting to play. Has never quite learned how to meow, so she just makes random chirps and sound. Very adaptable; settles into new environments very quickly and begins to make them her own. Sleeps for hours when not home, so no issue leaving her home while away for work.Experienced Cat Owner Stuff· Choco seeks affection on her own terms-she is NOT a lap cat, so don't try to make her one. Does not like being handled and will bite if you keep grabbing her but can be picked up briefly. Can be hard to read sometime because she doesn't exhibit some typical cat cues. Does not like being disciplined (no cat does really) and will discipline you back. Hard to get into carriers for vet visits, but with a little patience you'll be fine. Has some separation anxiety but feeding her as you're leaving should do the trick.Lot of the above can come as a surprise to some new, inexperienced cat parents, but should be run of the mill for those who have had young cats before. To us, she is friendly and goofy, with a bit of an edge-something we personally like. She'll need a home where that is appreciated. As such, we recommend no kids or seniors, lots of windows, and a fair amount of space.Though she hasn't had much luck with our older cat, mostly of no fault her own, she may get along with another her same age that is equally as confident in her/himself. In fact, she may do well wrestling with fellow felines to let out a bit of that energy. For the right person, we're happy to "trial" her for a few weeks with another cat (or dog), knowing they've introduced cats before and are experienced with cats."If you are interested in learning more about Choco, contact her owner's directly! Story
We have had Ava for 10 years. This is hard for us to consider as she has been such a good pet. We recently got a black lab, we kept them apart with a gate, her getting half of the house and him the other. We have tired multiple times to integrate them but she never seems to have much interest, no hissing or dramatics, but pees when we do so. Important to note prior to dog she never peed outside her box. With the failed attempts we feel she is just unhappy being confined to only a few rooms and honestly at this point so are we. We need to have full access to the house without gates, our dog now grown needs space. Ava is a calm cat, she takes some time to warm up and is very vocal. While she isn’t huge on snuggles she sleeps with us every night. She has been around a few small children, and while she likes to hide has never hissed or struck out when they approach her. But would probably do best in a quiet home with no kiddos, and no other pets.

Story
Meet Yuki, a resilient and affectionate cat around three to four years old, seeking a loving forever home. Despite a tough start, Yuki's spirit shines through her sweet and social nature. She thrives on human companionship, eagerly greeting visitors with leg rubs and enjoying cuddle sessions, particularly when lounging on chests at bedtime. Yuki's ideal home is one where she can be the sole pet, as she's shown discomfort around other cats. While she may have her boundaries, with the right understanding and patience, Yuki promises to be a delightful companion, enjoying sunbathing, toy play, and cozy spots like her beloved cat donut. Prospective adopters should be experienced with cats and willing to provide the special care Yuki needs, including routine dental check-ups due to past neglect. She's adapted well to new environments and has a preference for a wet food diet due to dental issues. Treats like Temptations and Churus are her favorites, adding to her charm. If you're ready to give Yuki the loving home she deserves, filled with patience, understanding, and plenty of affection, she'll reward you with endless love and companionship. This animal is being cross-posted for private rehoming by its owner. Story
Hi there! I'm Mariah, a sleek and shiny 2-year-old cat with bright green eyes that always seem to be watching everything around me. I have a unique personality that sets me apart-I'm an independent spirit who loves the company of humans. While I appreciate attention and affection from my human friends, I prefer to be the sole furry companion in your life. That's right, I'm not fond of other cats or dogs, so I'm hoping to find a home where I can be your one and only.I'm a mature lady who values a calm and predictable environment. That's why I'm seeking a home with kids over the age of 12 who understand how to respect my space and enjoy my quiet companionship. I'm not one for rowdy play or sudden movements, but I do enjoy a cozy spot by the window to watch the world go by or curling up in a sunny corner for a catnap. If you're looking for a low-maintenance yet loving companion who will bring a touch of elegance and independence to your home, then I might just be the match for you! I would prefer a home with:- No other pets- Children over 12 years old Primary Color: Black Weight: 8.62 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Lee and Cream Puff are looking for a barn home! This duo have been assessed as semi-feral. They would prefer to live in an outdoor environment with access to an indoor space for shelter as well as food and water. They will need at least 6 weeks of confinement in a secure enclosure, such as a shed, before going outside to start exploring the property.Barn cats tend to be more successful hunters, more likely to stick around the property, and better able to deter predators when there are multiple cats.If you are interested in adopting Lee and Cream Puff to be working cats on your property, stop by the shelter any day during adoption hours to join the queue. If you have not submitted a barn cat application previously, you will need to fill one out when you arrive. All adoptions are first come, first serve.*Barn cats require a secure indoor enclosure where they can be kept confined. After they are able to have outdoor access, they should continue to have access to this safe indoor space for protection from weather and predators. The indoor space could be a shed, garage, workshop, barn, etc. but should have four walls and a roof and be able to be entered by the caretakers in order to feed the cat and clean the litter box. Barn cat caretakers should expect to provide access to a litter box even after the cat is able to go outdoors, will need to feed the cat and provide fresh water daily, and will need to provide routine vaccines and medical care if the cat becomes sick or injured.* Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 8.4 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks
