Seattle, WA
Size

Story
Comet is wonderful, but our family isn't able to give him the attention or exercise that he needs and deserves since we unexpectedly had twins in 2022. Comet is 4.5Y, 70lbs, healthy, goofy, smart, and loves people. He's crate, house, and leash trained. Comet went to a 3-week board and train program two years ago and knows all the fundamentals. He responds really well to verbal affirmation, e-collars (to minimize fence guarding in our backyard) and a prong collar for walking. He's not food possessive and tolerates our kids (18M twins and 3.5Y), giving a small warning growl or bark if they pull fur or corner/lay on him before removing himself from the situation. He lives with our senior dog and they play regularly and have never had significant issues. He's never lived with cats. Comet deserves daily exercise - one 30-60 minute walk or a short run (30 minutes) is great. He loves hiking. He doesn't like swimming and can be a bit fearful of new things.

Comet is wonderful, but our family isn't able to give him the attention or exercise that he needs and deserves since we unexpectedly had twins in 2022. Comet is 4.5Y, 70lbs, healthy, goofy, smart, and loves people. Based in Seattle, neutered, fully vaccinated. He's crate, house, and leash trained. Comet went to a 3-week board and train program two years ago and knows all the fundamentals. He responds really well to verbal affirmation, e-collars (to minimize fence guarding in our backyard) and a prong collar for walking. He's not food possessive and tolerates our kids (19M twins and 3.5Y), giving a small warning bark before removing himself from the situation. He lives with our senior dog and they play regularly. He can be reactive to some other dogs so will want to test out relationship first. He barks when excited (eating his food) and will fence guard against other dogs (we live in a house on a busy street) so if he was in a quieter area, that would likely be more ideal.

Story
Hi, I’m Chica,Hey, I caught you looking at my profile, that makes me happy. I am ready for my new forever home. I live with several dogs and cats now. I get along with all of them, but it is time for me to be with my own family. I am a pretty strong and active dog, I walk well on a leash but sometimes when I see something interesting I can pull on the leash. I am working on it, but some things are just so tempting. I love to be active, so if you are into hiking, jogging, or playing fetch we would get along great. My foster mom says I am the sweetest dog, but she might be biased. I do like to have fun and play with the other dogs, and I am good when I meet new people too. I am good on car rides, like to go to the beach, and love to be around my family. I will need some training so I can be the best dog ever, so if you have a little patience it would be great. My ideal family will be active. I imagine us going for long walks and exploring new trails and sniffing all the great scents there. I imagine playing in the backyard with older kids and then settling down for a nice nap in a warm bed. Wow, I can’t wait. If that sounds like we could be a match, then just fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love to give,Chica To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. There you will see any videos, more photos and details.

Story
Meet Clint Barton! Introducing Clint Barton, a remarkable dog with a heart full of love and loyalty! Clint is crate trained and potty trained, making him an easy addition to your home. Clint is deaf, but that doesn't stop him from being a wonderful companion. He's learned to navigate the world in his own special way and is ready to share his unique perspective with a loving family. His resilience and adaptability are truly inspiring, and he responds well to visual cues and hand signals. Deaf dogs require some differences in their training, but in all, it's not that hard to have a deaf dog. He is learning basic obedience and can walk well on a leash- and he can learn so much more, especially hand commands. We've also been using a vibration collar to get his attention from far away, so he can run and play, but still come to you when needed. Clint is a bit shy with new people, sometimes so much so, his lanky legs shake until he gets to know you. Walks and treats are a the best way to make friends quickly. He just wants to know what you expect of him, so clear cues and communication are critical to making him feel comfortable and to increase his confidence. In all, Clint is a wonderful, young dog who has so much to give. He just needs someone to give him a chance! Clint is available for foster-to-adopt as well, so you can see how well he can fit into your world before you commit to adopt. This is a great way to overcome the initial fears and concerns about working with a deaf dog. As we do for all of our dogs, we are available for support and ongoing training to help get you start and stay on the right path to happiness! Clint Barton is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! Please visit our website www.motleyzoorescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Say Hello to Dorothy❤️‍🔥, A Social Butterfly from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz 🐶 Our Dorothy is an explorer. She loves to see the world and to investigate new and interesting smells by having her nose to the ground during her walk. Dorothy is considerate. Even to her friends who approach her mischievously, Dorothy is playful and invites them to play. Dorothy is not shy away expressing her love. When you are spending time with her neighbour longer than expected (in her opinion), Dorothy actively reaches out to you through the hole of her crate and let you know to hurry. It is irresistible when Dorothy rests her head on your shoulder and meets your eyes. Like Dorothy in “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” our Dorothy is compassionate and courageous. She will bring good luck and charm to your life. Could you open your heart and home to this lovely girl?
