Story
Chico is very quite and reserved. He is leashed trained, crate trained, and house broke using the doggie door. He is into mens company more so than a woman. Doesn't bark, doesn't show no aggression, like a perfect little gentleman. Gets along with other dogs and doesn't make a fuss about anything. He likes sleeping in the human bed & is always ready for any snacks he can get. Looking for a home to spend his happy self with forever home. Chico is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested positive for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Harley, a super cute 9 month old neutered male chihuahua/maltese mix! This sweet boy is not expected to get much bigger. He is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, but we assume he would do well with cats. From Harley's current foster: "Learning more about Harley. He loves the attention of other dogs but is sometimes too much. He listens well when they are done with him though. He is super sweet and loves to be loved by people. Working on walking on a leash, he is getting better. Sleeps in his crate all night with no problems. He is a sweet boy that just wants love." Harley is medically up to date, partially housebroken (he does mark some, which will likely improve with time following his neuter), and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet boy today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2258115##

Story
Meet Onna, a super cute 1-2 year old spayed female chihuahua mix, weighing about 8 lbs! This petite girl is shy and nervous at first and can be a bit skittish. She does not care for men, but she does well with women and warms up once she knows you are safe. She is good with other dogs, and we feel she would likely do fine with cats (although she has not been cat tested). Due to her shy nature and her small size, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Onna arrives in New England on 1/11 and we are accepting applications on her now. Apply to meet this special girl today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Story
Meet Shimmer, a super sweet 5-6 year old female chihuahua! Shimmer was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of which were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They have been in a TN foster home for over a month now decompressing and learning to trust people. Shimmer is now ready to make the trip to New England to find her furever home!  Shimmer is a "tripawd", she is missing her back left leg. However she runs and jumps around just fine, it does not stop her one bit. She is a shy girl and takes a little time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is an absolute sweetheart and will take treats from your hand and want to be close to you.  She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Shimmer is medically up to date (not yet spayed - will be spayed prior to adoption), pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
