Tator is a male chihuahua mix who just celebrated his third birthday last month! Tator loves to play tug and chase after toys, he had fun dressing up for his photoshoot and did great on the leash! Tator would do best in an adult-only home, he does get a bit scared if you reach for him too quickly. Interested in adoption? Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13736Norman the Dorman is part of the Literary Mice Litter. He was two pounds, 12 ounces at six weeks. He’s estimated to be about 15-30 pounds when grown. But since we’ve never met his father (his mom is a real sweetheart), that’s just a range. Puppy growth calculators put him topping out at 26 pounds. Norm is a solid little guy, the biggest of his litter with smooth, super short dark fur like velvet. He’s pretty easy going and enjoys both toys and wrestling with his siblings. His is absolutely stunning with his shimmery coat and extra long ears, but pictures don't show it. Norman has a great personality -- loves people, his littermates, and happy to do whatever is asked of him. Norman has a happy attitude and loves to be cuddled, and he is all-in when it comes to play time.To see more pictures and learn more about the Literary Mice Litter (and their mama) visit their foster mom’s blog, AnotherGoodDog.org (and also the Facebook group, Another Good Dog, for daily live videos)Ideal Home:Norman would thrive in a home that can provide him with lots of love, attention, and playtime. As a young puppy, he will need a family that is patient and committed to his training and socialization. A household where he can grow and learn in a nurturing environment would be perfect.Health and Care:Norman is a young puppy who will need regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care as he grows. Because he is so young, he has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that his immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, Norman MUST stay out of public places where he could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no-puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for his medical safety and longevity.Adoption Information:Norman is looking for a forever home where he can grow up to be a happy and healthy dog. If you think you could be the perfect match for this little bundle of joy, please apply today! Norman is able to go home as soon as July 31, 2024.Norman is currently being fostered in Maurertown, VA.

Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland. This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
