Story
Meet Ollie, a sweet and silly Chihuahua mix. While slow to trust, he loves to cuddle up on the couch or under a blanket once he does. He's very clever and loves to learn tricks, and he'll do almost anything for a piece of cheese. Despite his tiny legs, this 10-pound pup will walk with you for as long as you want. He loves sniffing around, but he'll bark at the people you walk past (just in case they want to hurt him, or you). If you think of him like a semi-social rescue cat who wants love and snuggles but only on their terms, then you've got it; he's a dog that someone intended to make a cat, but messed up at the last second. He takes anti-anxiety medication every morning, and it works like a charm. He has half a lifetime of love still to give, and we want him to be very happy for his last 8-10 years. The perfect household is one with no other dogs, though a cat would be okay, with somebody who'll let him lounge in the sunshine all day, then cuddle up on the couch after work, and mayb

Story
Rodney is a very curious, mischievous little guy who gets into everything, just like a little puppy. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying.  But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle.  Can you believe that underbite he has?  I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him.  It might make him look tough but Rodney is a 'softie' through and through.  He is just an adorable, sweet pup and he deserves a much better home than the hoarding conditions that he came from.  Maybe you want to help him see the blessings of a new home and secure lifestyle.  He will make you laugh, he will make you smile and he will make you feel loved!  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in giving him a forever home.  Please tell us the city and state that you live in when you write to us. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Silver Sam is 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds.  Part of a big hoarding case, he was taken to the shelter and there he sat for a few months.  Critter Cavalry Rescue could not stand the thought that he was in that out of the way shelter where no one comes to adopt a dog.   We pulled  7 dogs from that hoarding case and some had been there for 6 months.  Sam is a hoot as they say.   He is funny and active and must be watched if in a chain link fenced yard.  He might find an escape route and take off just for the fun of it.  He doesn’t go far but he sure does love the chase.  He is good with other dogs and he is full of antics with the cats.  He is almost housebroken and he is just the most loving lap dog ever.  Such a great smile and attitude despite some terrible conditions in his previous life.  He is with someone that loves the Chihuahua breed and understands all the little quirks.  He really has not bad habits except the fun of occasionally making a run for it just to see you panic.  Just a little Houdini in his spirit to have some fun.  If you are interested in this guy please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Tell us where you live   and what city and state.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Parker!  This precious little guy is 4 years old and about 12 lbs.  Evidently Parker did not have a very good life prior to joining Critter Cavalry.  We think he was bullied by another dog.  He is a 'sit on the sidelines and watch' kinda guy who doesn't really want to play with anyone.  He doesn't mind the other dogs and definitely is not mean.  He would just rather be with people.  Parker is super sweet and loves people.  He just wants to be where his foster mom is.  Parker would be a wonderful companion for someone that just wants one dog and who would like a dog they can take places.  He would love that and would love to be friends with all your friends.  He is just precious and very friendly.  He gentlY smells you to make sure you are OK and then he is good.  He was smiling during his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention.  If you are looking for a loyal companion then you have found him in Parker.  Parker is doggie door trained, neutered, current on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for Parker's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Parker is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Curious Puppy Coco.  This beautiful brindle boy is only 17 weeks old and 7 lbs.  Just look at that face.  It definitely tells you that this curious little guy will be in the middle of everything.  This little boy is all legs.  You just want to smile when you look at him.  He is at that awkward stage in life with legs and feet going every where.  Coco is a very sweet boy.  He is super friendly and does not meet a stranger.  He happily goes up to everyone to be petted.  Coco loves other dogs and has a big time playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  He is a bit of a pest to the older dogs though as he always wants to play.  Coco would love to have another young brother or sister to play with.  He definitely needs a companion to keep him busy.  When Coco does settle down he is a great little cuddle boy and will curl up in your lap or beside you to go to sleep.  This little guy is doggie door and crate trained.  He walks OK on a leash but does need some additional training.  He is very smart though and catches on quickly.  He will be an excellent addition to the right family.  Coco is neutered, current on all shots and microchipped.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Coco is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
My husband and I are sadly looking to rehome our two rescue dogs Bronx and Jax. We would like to rehome them together, if possible. They are both rescues and were adopted from local shelters. They are both approximately 8-9 years old; both males, both chihuahua mixes; and, both neutered. Bronx is the tan/yellow dog and he is very sweet but more reserved and scares easily, due to a rough upbringing before he was adopted. Jax is the darker brown dog and he is very chill but does take awhile to warm up to other dogs. He will bark at other dogs on walks but he's all bark and no bite. He is very playful and loves his brother Bronx. They have both done well with their new human baby brother; however, since we've become parents, we have not been able to give them the attention they deserve. They love cuddles and crave human interaction and we hope they can go to a home that will give them all the love they need.

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Penny/Little Bit  (PEN0923OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Chihuahua MIXApproximate Age:   10-12 yearsApproximate Weight:  9 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Penny is a sweet and quiet little lap dog. She is looking for a loving, quiet, and nurturing home to live out their twilight years. She is apprehensive at first and when frightened she may nip as a defensive mechanism due to her very limited sight (bilateral cataracts) and limited hearing, but once acclimated to her new surroundings and trusts you she is 100% loving lap dog. She will approach for attention and is very affectionate after an initial "breaking in" period. She will need an all adult household, no steps unless gated so she doesn't fall down them. Believe it or not, Penny does walk on leash okay, but is low energy and would be totally fine with quick access to a fenced backyard or a pee pad so she doesn't have to go out in the cold big world where she can't see danger lurking.  She is well trained to the pee pads. She sleeps in a dog bed near her people, and her favorite is to be abe to get under a nice soft blanket to keep her warm. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
