Story
Finlay is a very special boy he is 5 years old and loves veggies. He is a fetch master and does extremely well with dogs, cats, and other exotic animals. His pray drive is non-existent. Although he is not good for kids of any age! A little about the Finster: he is a very independent boy who has a lot to say if you do something he doesn't like. Why did I get him: I got him as a train and re-home. the previous owner had him for 4 years and with his behaviors made him a dog that couldn't be dealt with especially since she has children. HOWEVER, I have been working with him for a few months and he has greatly improved. He will continue his vigorous training until a forever home finds him then the training needs to continue. He is fully house trained! His behavioral issues are being addressed but will not be able to be fully fixed so he does have to be managed. If you're a college student or a person with no kids and know dog language he's a great match for you! He is a happy Boy!

Hello, I'm Smokey! I'm searching for a new forever home to spend my golden years since my last owners moved. As a senior pup, there are plenty of benefits to adopting me: I'm calm, laid-back, and already know how to follow a routine. So, what do you think? Would you consider giving an older dog like me a second chance? The nice folks at RDR will update my profile when they learn more about me. I can't wait to share all the love I've got to give. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for critter.Cavalry turquoise noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public.  This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly.  She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us.  She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath.  Anna has lots of love to give and deserves  a family to spoil her.   Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 18, 2025, 12:12 pm

Story
Poor little Chewy was spotted in the woods and was too scared to come to anyone. We had to set a trap and after 3 days we finally caught him! He was skin and bones but as soon as we got him back to the rescue and out of the crate, sweet as sugar! He's actually a bit of a cling on now, probably afraid someone will dump him again. He's super friendly with strangers and kids which is a wonderful trait for a Chihuahua. We don't think he is full blooded Chihuahua, perhaps mixed with Rat Terrier, just a guess. His pictures aren't the best because it was a freezing cold windy day. Our vet thinks he's about 4 years young. He has some mild tartar on his teeth so we are having his teeth professionally cleaned. He is neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative, crate trained and microchipped. He will be ready for transport on February 21st. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $700

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Penny/Little Bit  (PEN0923OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Chihuahua MIXApproximate Age:   12 yearsApproximate Weight:  9 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Penny is a sweet and quiet little lap dog. She is looking for a loving, quiet, and nurturing home to live out their twilight years. She is apprehensive at first and when frightened she may nip as a defensive mechanism due to her very limited sight (bilateral cataracts) and limited hearing, but once acclimated to her new surroundings and trusts you she is 100% loving lap dog. She will approach for attention and is very affectionate after an initial "breaking in" period. She will need an all adult household, no steps unless gated so she doesn't fall down them. Believe it or not, Penny does walk on leash okay, but is low energy and would be totally fine with quick access to a fenced backyard or a pee pad so she doesn't have to go out in the cold big world where she can't see danger lurking.  She is well trained to the pee pads. She sleeps in a dog bed near her people, and her favorite is to be abe to get under a nice soft blanket to keep her warm. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. BooBoo is a 4 yr old Chihuahua male. He weighs 12#s. He is perky with attitude… he is happy and likes to be in the middle of things. He loves attention and especially loves treats. He learns quickly. He will be great as a companion for a single person or older couple. He is fine with children that are gentle and know how to treat a small dog. He is a little leery of strangers but can be won over in a very short time…especially with treats. BooBoo loves to sleep on my bed under a blanket. I give him his own blanket so that he can be totally covered. When he is in his crate and we give him a blanket he totally burrows under it and is totally happy. He is mostly quiet…could be in an apartment. He doesn’t have separation anxiety. We are working on the house training. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

READ THE WHOLE LISTING Navi, a 1 yr old, 13lbs, chi mixed with who knows what but we're going to throw a fun breed like Corgi in the mix :P Sweet pup, friendly to all, good with dogs, ignores cats, been cool around non screaming kids. We do not recommend him in a home with small/active children. He loves running in the yard with his foster siblings, using them as obstacle courses, and the right toy (of the day) turns him into a puppy :) Navi will not show well at a meet and greet, he will need about 24 hours to feel comfortable and warm up, and boy does he warm up. An instant connection with Navi is not possible if that's what you're looking for in a meet and greet. If you keep chickens, you need not apply, he will make a happy meal out of them. If you're within 30 miles of Silver Spring MD please fill out our non-binding application here: https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd

Story
❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Sunny with a story of miracles👋 Sunny was found on a street in South Korea at one year old in 2018 and taken to a high-risk shelter, but she was already in serious condition presumably caused by a car accident. Her pelvis was fractured, and her right hind leg bone was broken into pieces. She was saved from euthanasia by the rescue team and hospitalized for months (Jun-Sep 2018) due to the surgery and recovery. She was miraculously given a new life thanks to the rescue. That same year, after a few months of foster period, Sunny found a forever home, which was another miracle we thought of back then. Five years later, however, the rescue team got an unknown phone call requesting to change Sunny's ownership. Long story short, her family decided to give up on her after years, sent her to a pet shop, and paid them, all this without discussing it with the rescue team. This pet shop basically receives pets from owners and in turn, sells them out, and to do so with Sunny, they needed to have Sunny's ownership switched from the rescue team to the pet shop so they contacted the rescue team, and that’s how the rescue team learned Sunny's situation. Eventually, Sunny was able to safely return to her original rescue team, which is another miracle in her story. Despite all these setbacks, Sunny's sweet nature and zest for life shine bright. She needs one true chance to find her real forever family that loves her unconditionally. Recently, she has been moved to her foster home with two other dogs. Sunny is eagerly waiting for her own home now! • Personality: Sweet, Playful, Sociable Sunny thrives on love and affection and gets along with all people and furry friends, making her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a lovely and affectionate fur buddy. She is such a cuddle bug! She likes snuggly cushions and blankets. • Affinity with - Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs regardless of the size - Cats: Okay with street cats. She sometimes tries to chase kittens, but she stops when told. - Adults/Kids: Good with adults, especially elders including men / Okay with kids - not much interest in them. 💫She will be a perfect fit for most types of families! • Housetrained: fully housebroken, okay with both pee-pads and outdoors. • Walking Manners: very good • Separation Anxiety: None • Bathing/Brushing: very good • Barks/Howls: she barks when excited or when she wants something. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Car Rides: very good • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies • Health Issues: Due to the serious injuries that she got from an accident right before rescue, her pelvis is not perfectly placed (incomplete union of iliac) even after she had surgery immediately after being rescued. However, currently, she doesn’t show signs of pain when walking or running. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Sunny, please don't hesitate to apply!
