APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. BUDDY is about 15#. He is most likely a Chihuahua mix but the mix has made him a little larger than most Chihuahuas. My scanner app on my phone said possibly 8% Kishu Ken; 7.2% Portuguese Podengo; and 7% Rat Terrier. The darkness around his eyes is the natural color of his hair... not weepy eyes. His DOB is approximately 6/1/23. He came from a family that had 6 kids and one was autistic. This child was too rough with the cat and Buddy so the owner surrendered for the dog’s sake. He’s really a VERY happy dog… Here is what the foster had to say of him: BUDDY is a real country boy. He came from a home in the country. He can be quite an escape artist out the front door if allowed. You need to provide a steps beside the bed because he has a difficult time getting up on his own. He is definitely food motivated and having come from a home with 6 kids, he definitely likes human food. He will escort you to every room in the house to make sure you don’t get lost. He loves to play with… dogs, cats, and PIGS!! Buddy is the perfect family dog. While he has a tiny shadow, he has a big heart. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Meet Tinkerbell! She is a 28lb beautiful, brindle Chihuahua mix. She is learning how to play with toys, she is very curious and loves being outside! Tinkerbell is getting used to being safe and loved in her foster home and foster mom says she is doing great! Only took Tinkerbell a couple of days to warm up and start to feel comfortable in her new digs. She feels comfortable in her crate and sleeps well through the night, but first, a cuddle with her person/people! She does love napping in her bed and would love nothing more than being in her bed next to your bed! Tinkerbell is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
This adorable little face is Toby! He is a 15lb, Chihuahua mix. Toby is one of those dogs that’s always right by your feet or on your lap! He’s very friendly and loving! He is the ultimate companion, in the sense that he is always ready to do anything with his people! Despite him being so small, he’s always ready to go for a walk, hike, or adventure! Though his very favorite thing to do is to snuggle up underneath the covers at bedtime, insisting to cuddle up right next to you! Toby came from Puerto Rico a couple months ago after his previous owner could no longer take care of him due to illness. Toby is truly the best boy and can't wait to share his love with his very own family! Toby is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. READ THE WHOLE LISTING Navi, a 1 yr old, 13lbs, chi mixed with who knows what but we're going to throw a fun breed like Corgi in the mix :P Sweet pup, friendly to all, good with dogs, ignores cats, been cool around non screaming kids. He loves running in the yard with his foster siblings, using them as obstacle courses, and the right toy (of the day) turns him into a puppy :) Navi will not show well at a meet and greet, he will need about 24 hours to feel comfortable and warm up, and boy does he warm up. An instant connection with Navi is not possible if that's what you're looking for in a meet and greet. If you keep chickens, you need not apply, he will make a happy meal out of them. If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Penny/Little Bit  (PEN0923OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Chihuahua MIXApproximate Age:   10-12 yearsApproximate Weight:  9 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Penny is a sweet and quiet little lap dog. She is looking for a loving, quiet, and nurturing home to live out their twilight years. She is apprehensive at first and when frightened she may nip as a defensive mechanism due to her very limited sight (bilateral cataracts) and limited hearing, but once acclimated to her new surroundings and trusts you she is 100% loving lap dog. She will approach for attention and is very affectionate after an initial "breaking in" period. She will need an all adult household, no steps unless gated so she doesn't fall down them. Believe it or not, Penny does walk on leash okay, but is low energy and would be totally fine with quick access to a fenced backyard or a pee pad so she doesn't have to go out in the cold big world where she can't see danger lurking.  She is well trained to the pee pads. She sleeps in a dog bed near her people, and her favorite is to be abe to get under a nice soft blanket to keep her warm. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. This bundle of cuteness came from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. The shelter is a scary place for a little puppy, fortunately she has been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers and landed a nice foster home. Noelle is now ready to find her forever home. Could that be with you? Noelle is very sweet and great with other dogs. She can be a tad shy at first but warms up very quickly. At her young age, Noelle is in her prime for training and socialization too. If you're looking for a companion who will love you unconditionally and bring a sense of joy and companionship to your home, Noelle is the perfect choice. He is 5 lbs of highly portable adorable, and has never met a lap he didn't love.  Sadly, he was surrendered for financial reasons, and he is hoping he can find a new forever home. He loves attention and affection and is great with other dogs and has been respectful of the cat in his foster home.  He is crate trained (whines his protest initially when put in, but quiets down soon).   He will sleep in a crate or his own bed if you insist but would rather be your personal bed-warmer.   He likes all people, including children, but like many very small dogs he is a bit fragile and can be spooked by loud noises and quick movements, so a home with young children might not work well for him.  He is a true chihuahua, and takes his responsibility to defend his home very seriously, so he will bark impressively at any stranger who comes in.  But that stranger quickly becomes a friend and snuggle-buddy, if Ryan has any say about it  If you are ready for some extra love in your life, you must meet Ryan.
