Story
Meet Gizmo: the pint-sized powerhouse with the heart of a lion and the energy of a caffeinated squirrel. This Chihuahua-Pitbull mix is here to prove that big things come in tiny, fierce packages. He may be small, but when it comes to plush toys, he’s a dedicated destroyer—no squeaker is safe. When he's not flexing his muscles in a game of tug-of-war, you’ll find him zooming around the house like he’s training for the Puppy Olympics. His hobbies include chasing his own tail, stealing socks, and barking at nothing... because, you know, someone has to protect the house from invisible threats.

Story
Is your couch missing a gargoyle? Do you come home and wish for 20 pounds of spring loaded joy to greet you? Do you love the sound of Bob Ross cleaning his paintbrush? Candy does a great impression. Are you retired or work from home and want a cinnamon doughnut-dog to keep you company? Look no further! Candy is a 4 year old chihuahua mix who has a lot of love and attention to give. She is very smart and shows signs of having been trained, but needs consistent boundaries and reinforcement to really fine tune her understanding of good manners and to build confidence. She lives with 2 senior dogs and a cat in her foster home. Tolerance is granted from all sides, but Candy would thrive without competition for her peoples attention. In a multi-dog home, she would find her place, given mindful introductions and the right blend of personality types. Her energy level will match yours (after an initial rocket blast for transitions: first wake up, when you come home). She keeps pace with a power walk, and has the potential to be a great hiking or outdoor buddy. Truly; as long as she is in line of sight of her people, she is content.Things that would not be compatible with Candy: small children and being left alone for long periods of time. Are you ready to have your best buddy and a Candy-coated life? Let’s meet!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Lacy is a 12-year 9.3 pound eloquent and majestic long leg beauty Chihuahua mix, all white with a little tan on her ears. Lacy came to be a CAWS dog after she was abandoned in a shelter, so sad at this time of her life but she is safe now for the rest of her days. These majestic long legs make her weeble and wobble a bit or better known as ataxic in the rear limbs (an awkward gait, uncoordinated walking pattern that is characterized by an irregular foot placement and a wide base, which may have a tendency to fall). But it is this walk that makes her unique and precious, it is more of a dainty and expressive pace. She also has some back pain, just a frail little old lady but such a magnificent little old gal, unique as can be. She is totally house and crate trained, if you don’t get her out she looks at you and gives a whine to let you know it is time to be let out. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. She is a little on the slender side so we are trying to put a pound or two on her. Lacy had a dental with 18 teeth extracted. The anesthesia was really hard on our little lady but she put on her big girl panties and astoundingly pulled through this ordeal like an awesome trooper! She had a couple wart type things between her eyes removed while she was under too. She does a loud yelp when she needs your attention or to let you know she must get back in the house. For this loud yelp Lacy has to go to a house with a yard and 2-legged people who work from home or can take her to work with them or retired so she is not alone. She does okay in a crate but we do not want her to live in a crate now at this time of her life. She does like to cuddle on the couch and sleep with her 2-legged people, but she is okay with a bed on the floor too some of the time. She gives the softest, gentlest kisses, so dang sweet. Due to her age she should go to a family with no kids or older. If you can give this superb little lady a safe and secure home with unconditional love for the rest of whatever time she may have left, please fill out an application for a meet and greet. Lacy could most surely have many many years ahead of her, and we believe with all our heart she has a very precious long life ahead of her, she oozes pure sweetness and joy. Lacy should have never ended up in a shelter but she crossed our path and so now will find her furever lasting home that she is so deserving of. She takes your breath away.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
Meet Scoops LePue! Scoops LePue is a goofy, confident and fun-loving pup with a unique personality and a love for adventure! This 8 year old, easy-going chiweenie enjoys being around people and is always ready to show off his impressive repertoire of tricks, including 'sit', 'wait', 'lay down', 'spin', 'stick 'em up', and even 'bang'. He has great recall and absolutely loves going on hikes, making him a perfect companion for an active family.Scoops is friendly and playful, and he would thrive in a home where he can feel secure and comfortable. He gets along with dogs his size of all ages and temperaments, but has had some past reactivity with very dominant male dogs. Though he can be a bit excitable around other dogs at first, he loves to play and matches the energy of those around him. When it comes to cats, he’s unbothered and simply ignores them.At home, Scoops is crate trained, house trained, dog door trained, and enjoys finding the coziest spot to curl up for a snooze. He absolutely loves cuddles and belly scratches! He does well in an apartment setting as long as he gets his daily walks and exercise or a home with a yard to explore. He can be left alone for short periods without anxiety and rides fairly well in the car.Scoops would do best in a home with older and/or dog-savvy kiddos who understand appropriate interaction with a small dog. He would do well with a canine friend similar in size, but would also be happy as the center of attention. Scoops LaPue is sure to be a loyal, entertaining, and adventurous companion!Could Scoops be the perfect fit for your home?Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet Calvin – The Sweet & Mellow Gentleman! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Calvin is a 12-year-old Chihuahua with a heart as big as his soulful puppy-dog eyes. This little guy is as low-maintenance as they come—his favorite activities include napping, getting treats, and simply being by your side. He’s a quiet, gentle companion who would love nothing more than a cozy spot to relax in and a loving family to dote on him. With a low energy level, Calvin is the ultimate couch potato. He enjoys daily walks but isn’t one for wild adventures—he’s perfectly content taking life at a slower pace. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. While he gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids, he does appreciate his personal space when he’s snoozing and may give a little growl if another dog gets too close to his bed.Calvin has no teeth, so he’ll need soft food, and he takes daily pain medication for arthritis to keep him comfortable. But don’t worry—his sweet nature and loving personality more than make up for his tiny quirks!Whether you live in an apartment or a house, Calvin will be the perfect fit as long as he has a warm bed, gentle care, and someone to appreciate his adorable, quiet presence. If you’re looking for a mellow, easygoing companion who will melt your heart with just one look, Calvin is ready to be your new best friend! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
