Story
Take a minute to get to know Chloe. This sweet little dog recently lost her home because of a death in the family and she is still grieving. In her previous home, she was a devoted cuddle bug, happily curling up by her mom’s legs each night, enjoying a deep bond in a loving, multi-dog family. Now, she finds herself in a new environment where she’s still adjusting. Chloe appreciates having boundaries. She’s content sleeping on her cozy floor bed, feeling secure and at ease. When it comes to walks, Chloe does well on a leash and enjoys exploring. With a little encouragement, she will surely thrive in an outdoor adventure! While she gets along well with the canine companions in her foster home, Chloe prefers older, more laid-back dogs who respect her space. She enjoys roaming the yard alongside them, but gently shies away when younger, more boisterous pups try to snuggle in too close or lick her face. She would do best in a home without small children. Chloe’s health is a priority. She is on a weight loss journey that has already shown remarkable progress. Her new family will need to continue this journey with her, ensuring she maintains a healthy diet and regular exercise—rewarding her with the love and care she deserves. Chloe will also need regular dental check-ups, as her teeth require monitoring, but with the right care, she will continue to shine. She is working on learning house training in her foster home and is doing well. With patience and a loving touch, Chloe will flourish in a quiet home where she can feel safe and adored. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies sweetness and gentleness, Chloe is ready to fill your heart and ho me with love. Is your family the one to help Chloe really shine?l Chloe is spayed, current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Topi was a tiny puppy in our program, listed as a Chiweenie and was adopted 3 years ago. Currently he weighs about 25 pounds. His family has had health problems and could no longer care for him so he came back to Animal Advocacy to find a new forever home. Topi was well loved and cared for by his former family, to the point of being spoiled. He comes with his crate, bed, and lots of accessories. Topi is a high energy guy and needs an active family, with lots of walks and playtime. He is trained, knows many commands and is eager to learn more. Topi can be nervous initially and can get overly excited. He is ok with older cats but likes to chase and bark at kittens when they race and jump around. He is great with medium to smaller dogs and nonaggressive large dogs. Topi is very trainable and has adjusted well to being in a foster home with many dogs, cats and small kids. Because Topi can be nervous and get excited, he might jump or knock over small children, so only children over 8, please. He is still young and mischievous and can get into things he shouldn’t, including getting the squeaker out of a toy. Fortunately, he does know what “No” means. Topi is crate trained and housebroken. Ask him if he needs to go potty or outside and he spins in a circle. Topi is an easy dog and eager to please. He will be a wonderful companion to the right active family. Topi has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). Story
Meet Topi, the spunky little Chiweenie bursting with personality and ready to bring joy to your home! This energetic pup, adopted three years ago, is now on the lookout for his new forever family due to some health challenges faced by his previous owners. But don’t worry—Topi comes with all the essentials, including his cozy crate, soft bed, and adorable accessories, making it easy for him to settle in! With a heart full of love and a playful spirit, Topi is always on the move, looking for adventures and fun. He’s well-trained and knows a variety of commands, plus he’s always eager to learn even more! Topi is a fantastic little alarm system—just wait until someone knocks at the door; his vocal playfulness will surely catch your attention! Topi gets along famously with medium-sized to smaller dogs and older cats, though those playful kittens might stir up a little too much excitement for him! He thrives in an environment with large, respectful dogs and has adapted beautifully to his foster home, where he enjoys the company of other pets and kids alike. A bit mischievous and full of curiosity, Topi is easy to train and eager to please his family. Just keep a watchful eye on him around small children—his bubbly energy can lead to some accidental chaos! Story
Hello future furever family! My name is Maximus, aka Maximus the Handsomest. I am a 7-year-old chiweenie who found myself in the clink, a while back and was lucky enough to be spotted by my foster mom and sprung out. After getting into the rescue, I went in for a growth to be removed. As it turns out, I had testicular cancer and the doctors were very good at getting it removed. Now, I’m cancer free and ready to find my new pawrents. I am a sweet boy who likes cuddles and naps. I also love to be outside, so it would be cool if we could go walking together. I’m good with dog friends that respect my space, or I can be the perfect only dog. I am working on learning the dog door and I’m about 90% housebroken. A bellyband may be a good idea for our first couple of weeks. If you’re looking for a sweet little guy with a few sweet dance moves, I promise not to disappoint you!! Maximus has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Maximus, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Is your couch missing a gargoyle? Do you come home and wish for 20 pounds of spring loaded joy to greet you? Do you love the sound of Bob Ross cleaning his paintbrush? Candy does a great impression. Are you retired or work from home and want a cinnamon doughnut-dog to keep you company? Look no further! Candy is a 4 year old chihuahua mix who has a lot of love and attention to give. She is very smart and shows signs of having been trained, but needs consistent boundaries and reinforcement to really fine tune her understanding of good manners and to build confidence. She lives with 2 senior dogs and a cat in her foster home. Tolerance is granted from all sides, but Candy would thrive without competition for her peoples attention. In a multi-dog home, she would find her place, given mindful introductions and the right blend of personality types. Her energy level will match yours (after an initial rocket blast for transitions: first wake up, when you come home). She keeps pace with a power walk, and has the potential to be a great hiking or outdoor buddy. Truly; as long as she is in line of sight of her people, she is content.Things that would not be compatible with Candy: small children and being left alone for long periods of time. Are you ready to have your best buddy and a Candy-coated life? Let’s meet!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Lacy is a 12-year 9.3 pound eloquent and majestic long leg beauty Chihuahua mix, all white with a little tan on her ears. Lacy came to be a CAWS dog after she was abandoned in a shelter, so sad at this time of her life but she is safe now for the rest of her days. These majestic long legs make her weeble and wobble a bit or better known as ataxic in the rear limbs (an awkward gait, uncoordinated walking pattern that is characterized by an irregular foot placement and a wide base, which may have a tendency to fall). But it is this walk that makes her unique and precious, it is more of a dainty and expressive pace. She also has some back pain, just a frail little old lady but such a magnificent little old gal, unique as can be. She is totally house and crate trained, if you don’t get her out she looks at you and gives a whine to let you know it is time to be let out. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. She is a little on the slender side so we are trying to put a pound or two on her. Lacy had a dental with 18 teeth extracted. The anesthesia was really hard on our little lady but she put on her big girl panties and astoundingly pulled through this ordeal like an awesome trooper! She had a couple wart type things between her eyes removed while she was under too. She does a loud yelp when she needs your attention or to let you know she must get back in the house. For this loud yelp Lacy has to go to a house with a yard and 2-legged people who work from home or can take her to work with them or retired so she is not alone. She does okay in a crate but we do not want her to live in a crate now at this time of her life. She does like to cuddle on the couch and sleep with her 2-legged people, but she is okay with a bed on the floor too some of the time. She gives the softest, gentlest kisses, so dang sweet. Due to her age she should go to a family with no kids or older. If you can give this superb little lady a safe and secure home with unconditional love for the rest of whatever time she may have left, please fill out an application for a meet and greet. Lacy could most surely have many many years ahead of her, and we believe with all our heart she has a very precious long life ahead of her, she oozes pure sweetness and joy. Lacy should have never ended up in a shelter but she crossed our path and so now will find her furever lasting home that she is so deserving of. She takes your breath away.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process.
