Story
Harvey is a super special senior who is looking for his super special humans. At about 10 years old, Harvey is old enough to know what he likes - eating and napping! - and what he doesn't - being touched unless it's his idea. Harvey can be a nervous guy around big dogs and new people, we haven't seen him around cats and he shouldn't live with children. Harvey comes by his hesitation honestly, he likely lived a life of neglect and finally abandonment before coming to CAWS and didn't get all the love and care a dog should receive. We're dedicated to changing that now! We know Harvey's people are out there - someone who will allow him to climb onto your lap when he's ready for cuddles, and someone who won't hold his tendency to snap when he feels threatened against him. Harvey has Cushing's disease and thyroid issues, and will require lifelong medication and dedicated care. Harvey does bark, so he'd do better in a house than an apartment with shared walls. If you think you have the big heart to give Harvey the life he deserves, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Harvey's adoption fee is $100. Story
Ariel is an 8 year old female Chihuahua mix and she is the sweetest girl. She is bonded with her brother Sebastian, so the two of them are a package deal. Ariel is a tiny little thing, weighing in at 5 pounds. She likes to give kisses and either sit in your lap or right next to you. Her brother Sebastian will then spoon Ariel for a Chihuahua cuddle pile. At night she likes to sleep with her foster mom, under the covers, snuggled up to her. She is crate and house trained and gets along with dogs, kids, and cats. Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Story
Zeus is the sweetest and snuggliest boy who loves to SMILE! Zeus enjoys other little dogs, meandering in the yard, laying in the sunshine, and chewing on his treat bones! He is a timid and nervous guy initially but once he feels safe he is loyal, loving and silly. Zeus LOVES his crate and will need access to one in his adoptive home as this is where he prefers to retreat when tired, scared, unattended and for meal times. He is also house trained and is a pretty quiet boy. He is good with cats, other dogs, and even kids. We do think older, respectful children will be best as he is uncomfortable with scary noises and fast movements. He would be happiest with another little dog to play with in his adoptive home. Zeus is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, health checked and has even recently had a dental. His adoption fee is $200. To be considered, please apply online at CAWS.orgPlease note that we carefully select adoptive homes that best meet the needs of the animals in our care and not on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationAugust 20, 2024, 7:05 am

Story
Maggie is a 6-year 12-pound long hair Chihuahua mix. Her face marking is stunningly beautiful. She is utterly the most precious and adorable, spunky and active little lady. She grabs toys from the box and entertains herself, so freakin cute. And she will play fetch if you throw a ball for her. Treats are much appreciated when she retrieves the ball. Maggie twirls when she is excited. She does like time in a crate with the door open but we do not let her hibernate too long. When her foster mommy calls she comes barreling up on the couch, straddles her with paws around her neck and gives the most gentle kisses, if you are not careful she will give you a French kiss. She sleeps next to her 2 legged people on her back, or will sleep in a bed on the floor or crate, but she really likes to sleep next to her 2-legged people the best. She is totally house and crate trained, never an accident, such a proper little lady. When her 2-legged people leave for an extended amount of time she will bark while in the crate so she needs a house without shared walls. When Maggie first meets you she may be a little nippy for a day or 2, but after that she is as loyal and lovable as they come. But because of this she cannot go to a home with small children, needs to be older kids who are respectful of a pet's space. She is good with other dogs as long as they do not get right in her face, but if they do she just gives them a quick snap to tell them to get out of her face, she does not actually bite or chase after them, just let them know they are flat out too much in her space, and that is okay too, we are all like that. Dog savvy people will totally understand our magnificent little girl’s squirts, she just needs time to adjust and feel safe, after all she has been from home to home to home, we all need to feel our boundaries and find our safe spaces, which she totally does. Maggie is going to make someone the happiest lifetime furever best friend.Maggie is fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, health checked and recently had a dental. Her adoption fee is $200.
