Meet Ace, a senior canine resident at our shelter who exudes a mellow and gentle demeanor. He's a tad shy at first, but once he warms up, he's the sweetest cuddle buddy you could ever wish for. Ace is a friend to all, whether they're dogs, cats, or humans. He's perfectly housetrained and loves to roam around in a fenced yard, exploring every nook and cranny with a soft wag of his tail. Adopt Ace and let his gentle spirit fill your home with warmth and love. Ace weighs 50lbs., is approximately 9 years old (est. birth date 06/22/2015), and his adoption fee is $175. Story
My given name is Dolly Holly, but my foster family calls me Dior because I am bougie. I am an 8 year old collie mix and I weigh 55 pounds.   I am a high maintenance girl who likes things just so, I can be shy when you first meet me. I definitely prefer women to men, but will warm up once I know you. I LOVE walks and sitting outside or playing with a tennis ball, if I am in the mood I will fetch.     I love food, belly rubs, snuggling, and being brushed. I very much dislike nail trims and bathes. Yuck!    I am fine with other dogs if you introduce me properly, but ultimately, I love my person more than playing with dogs. If you are my person I will escort you everywhere. I am also fine with older kids, but I get nervous with babies and toddlers who move quickly.     I might try to sit on your lap despite being too big. Remember it's all about me!   Are you looking for that special someone to love and spoil? If so, I might be your girl!     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.           August 19, 2024, 4:59 pm

Story
LOOKING FOR MY PERFECT MATCH:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 67 lbs.    Hello, I’m Smiley!  Take one look at my pic, and you will know why my Mostly Mutts name suits me – lol.   I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been busy charming the volunteers with my cuteness and personality ever since.  I bet you will love me too!  I am doing some guarding of my room/crate, and my trainer would be happy to tell you more about that. Let’s meet soon and see if I am your new furry family member!  I got to spend some time in the foster/training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and was friendly with them as long as we were playing away from my room or crate, which I guard. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet with my trainer. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but because I guard my room/crate, and have bitten over this, so if you have older teens such as 15+ that know not to take things from me, or reach into my crate, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I have a super sweet and loving disposition.  I’m playful, friendly and – true to my collie mix – pretty smart, too!  When the play is done, I also love to chill with my people.  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, although I do guard my crate.  My trainer is working with me on this and has taught me to ‘sit’ and wait in my ‘place’ while my crate is cleaned.  Still, items should not be taken from my crate with me present.  / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys and am always ready for some play time with my people!  The volunteers say I am ‘all smiles’ when out and about on my walks.  My first shelter bath was scary for me, but I did much better the second time and loved the brushing of my coat that went with it – which is good, because I do need a good brushing from time to time.  Being near my people makes me a happy guy – especially when belly rubs are involved.  Recently, I took my job as ‘front desk assistant’ at the shelter very seriously – placing my paws on the volunteers’ laps to let them know they are loved!  I am happiest when away from my crate, and when I am outside, I am a super happy go lucky guy! / Other than the above-mentioned guarding of my room/crate, I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  I have a significant underbite, but it doesn’t bother me, and some even say it makes me cuter.  I am looking for a great home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 19, 2024, 2:28 pm

Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Let's dive into the tale of Abby, the fantastic 8-year-old Collie mix! This charming lady has had quite the whirlwind of emotions recently. First, her dad's unexpected passing left her heartbroken, and then her mom went into assisted living. In just a few days, Abby lost her family and home.    Currently crashing with relatives, she's surrounded by four furry buddies who are he’ll-bent on harassing her. While she's an absolute darling, her presence is stirring up some pack drama. Abby is a joy to walk and great with kids, but watch out for those mischievous cats - she's always up for a good chase! She's an easy-going girl, seeking a new family to help her heal and smother her with love.    Abby is a gem waiting for a cozy corner to call her own. Can you offer this lovely lady a peaceful place to unwind and start a fresh chapter?   Age:  8 yrs   Weight: 50 lbs   Temperament: Gets along with dogs and kids   Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, easy-to-walk   Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative   Email for questions: jamie@doggieharmony.org      To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application ( www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption ) for caretakers to review. Story
Hi there! I'm Roland, a laid-back gentleman on the hunt for my forever home. I'm all about living a relaxed, quiet life and am looking for a cozy spot where I can truly unwind.I'm a low-energy fellow who loves nothing more than lounging around and soaking up the tranquility. Short, easy walks are perfect for me, and I absolutely adore cuddles. I'm house-trained and well-mannered, so you won't have to worry about any messes or mischief.I haven't had much experience with dogs, cats, or kids, but I'm open to meeting your furry friends or little ones to see if we click. If you're searching for a calm, loving companion, I might just be the perfect fit for you!Let me tell you about my recent adventure: I had a delightful day out despite the scorching heat. We started with a curbside picnic at Chick-Fil-A where I enjoyed some nuggets dipped in peanut butter-I was a perfect gentleman and didn't beg for any more. Next, we stopped at Starbucks, where I gracefully slurped my puppuccino without even trying to lick the top of my human's coffee cup!Next stop, Home Depot! I was the star of the show. I charmed the staff and shoppers, accepting all the pets and love they had to offer. I was a bit distracted and needed some time to adjust, but overall, I did great. The highlight was sitting quietly on the floor of a calm office where I showed off my snuggling skills.I'm treat-motivated, and though I can be a bit wary of new places, I quickly settle down once I feel comfortable. If you're looking for a serene, affectionate buddy to share your quiet moments with, come meet me-I'm sure we'll get along great!

Story
Interview with Dash:Interviewer: How did you arrive to the Animal Shelter? Dash: Well, I was walking down the street looking for leftover Thanksgiving scraps when I noticed that someone pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road. I assumed they had some scraps for me, so I walked up to them and jumped into their vehicle and guess what, no scraps, how rude!!!! The man who picked me up told me that he didn't want me to get hurt and took me to the Animal Shelter. Interviewer: Did you like being at the Animal Shelter? Dash: At first no, because there were a lot of rowdy dogs in the area I was staying at. It scared me a bit and I just stayed to myself, but then one day I went out for a walk and they put me in the Administrative Supervisors office, which was awesome. I went from a small apartment to a condo! A big upgrade. Interviewer: What has changed since you arrived at the Animal Shelter?Dash: A lot has changed! When I arrived at the Shelter, I was heartworm positive. I went into a foster home while going through my treatment. Thankfully, my treatment has been completed and starting March 15th, I can return to my normal activities, like playing fetch with a tennis ball and going for long walks! I cannot wait, I'm so excited for this day to arrive. Also, my foster parent wanted to adopt me, which I was super excited about because she has been one of the best foster parents that any dog could ask for, but unfortunately with inflation and being on a limited income, she cannot adopt me. But that's okay because my forever family is out there, I just know it.Interviewer: What do you look for in a family?Dash: Okay, I am going to be a little picky here. I am a woman's man, but if the woman I adore has a man in her home, I'll be okay with that ONLY under these circumstances: 1) Men like to wear these weird things on their heads that scare me sometimes. My foster parent told me those are called "hats". Not sure what they do, but they sure do scare me and prefer they not be worn when I'm around. 2)No loud power tools in my presence. Those things scare me too.Other than those 2 circumstances, I should be perfectly fine with a male in the home. What will not work for me is children. They scare me as well. Anytime I get scared, I tend to nip at their shoes. I guess it's the Heeler in me that makes me do that. I am not a fan of cats and I have never met a dog before, so I'm not sure how I'd do with them.Interviewer: Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?Dash: I love belly rubs, cuddling, sleeping on the couch and sleeping in my foster parents' bed. I'm usually a couch potato, but sometimes I like to run around a bit. I am housetrained, but there are 2 things to know about that. 1) I can usually hold my "business" for some time, but if you are not around and I really have to use the bathroom, I try to become the Kool-Aid man and bust through the wall to get outside to use the bathroom. Trust me I know it sounds bad, but I do not want to make a mess in the home. 2) When you take me out to use the bathroom, it may take me a bit to find the right place, but once I find that place, that will become my forever bathroom.Interviewer: I know you are currently in a foster home. How can adopters meet you?Dash: They can contact the Animal Shelter at 678-965-7185 or email Adoptions@forsythco.com to set up an appointment to meet me.
