Story
Inga has been overlooked for far too long. She's an absolute lover, and a brainiac! She knows more than your average pup - sit, down, stay, place, touch, back up, shake, kennel up, roll over, spin, and the list goes on! If she doesn't know it yet, it will take her no time at all! She's also been started in sport dog training! She catches a disc, has medium food drive, and high toy drive. She knows catch, leave it, center, heel, out, take, and drop it (if you're a sports person, you know how tricky those can be to master)! She would thrive with someone as smart and active as she is, but don't let her enthusiasm fool you, she's a perfect snuggle buddy and has an excellent off switch and can be calm in her kennel for longer periods of time if needed. She's just the best! The adoption fee is currently waived. She is also receiving training from Good Dog Enrichment and Training, who will support her training for life! For anyone looking for a lost pet or considering adoption or fostering, we encourage you to make regular visits to the shelter. Please note that this website is updated every 24 hours and may not include all the animals available at CARE STL. If you are interested in a specific dog, such as (name of dog), we invite you to stop by the CARE STL Adoption Center located at 2700 Walnut Pl, 63103. Story
Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Lily Mae is a classic gorgeous rough collie. Just about a year old, she is full of energy, but her ultimate goal is to be a lap dog. She loves to wrestle and run in the yard with her foster siblings and play tug of war, but then she wants to be cuddled and loved by her human. Lily Mae thinks toys are great, particularly jolly balls and anything meant for chewing or tugging. She’s house trained, is pretty good on a leash, and is working on crate training. Lily Mae is hearing impaired and is learning hand signals. She quickly learned “sit” and is working on “off” and “leave it.” She needs a home with a fenced-in yard and would prefer one with another large, playful dog. No tiny kids, please, only because she doesn’t realize how big she is and is very exuberant. Lily Mae is very sweet, very loving, and very Velcro. She’s being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##1974523##
