Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday June 29th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $400   Spring is an 8 year old Dachshund-Pit mix who can’t wait to blossom with her forever family! Spring came to our rescue with her litter of 2 week old babies after she was abandoned at the shelter, which is no place for a sweet little family. Now that her babies are all grown up and she has had some Mama relaxation time, she is ready to find a home to live out her golden years in! Spring weighs 27 pounds and is a low-rider! Are you a Pitbull lover but the size of a typical Pitty doesn't fit your life? Well, we have your answer here. This girl is all that but in a compact size!   Below is a note from Spring’s foster.  “Spring is a fabulously cuddly and loving gal who can’t wait to meet her new BFF! When you first meet her, she can take a little bit to warm up but once she does, she is ready for non-stop snuggles. She would love to find a home where she can spend her days loving her people, being the best zoom companion ever! Spring is more of a couch potato kind of dog, but she does love her daily romps around the neighborhood. Spring is fully potty trained both with potty pads and outside. Spring adores the softer things in life, from blankets to toys and dotes on her Lamb Chop. Spring would be a perfect hike companion or a “snuggle and movie” friend.  Spring starts her morning with a potty break and breakfast at around 7 AM. During the day, she hangs out in a playpen with her bed and toys. She spends her time mostly snoozing and soaking up the sunshine. After I finish work for the day, we go on a walk to the park where she sniffs and gets her zoomies out. After her walk, she comes home for dinner and snuggles as I unwind from the day. She ends her day curled up on her soft dog bed as she dreams of adventures ahead!  Spring would do best in a home where she can be the only dog, or with a chill companion. She loves walks and trots alongside me as we wander the neighborhood. Spring gets along with all people, but prefers a slow introduction, so a home with loud kids might not be the best fit for her. Spring is such a lovely girl with beautiful, soulful eyes who deserves the absolute best forever home.” Spring would be best suited for a home with prior dog experience, but she could be a first-time dog. Spring would do best as a solo dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.August 19, 2024, 11:40 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Mutts, Meows and Matchmaking on Sunday, Aug. 18th from 9:30-12:30pm in San Mateo at the pedestrian zone on B street where the blue mural is located. Adoption Fee: $600 Otter is a 8 month old Dachshund mix who is otter-ly adorable and ready to meet you! Otter was saved from a kill shelter by a good citizen and then surrendered to DPS. He was very scared when he arrived at our doorstep but we promised him a brighter future. This young boy has lived a lot in his short life but we know his next chapters will be full of love! Otter weighs 20 pounds so he likely had a larger sized dad. We expect his adult weight to be around 30-35 pounds.  Otter is a quiet and loving puppy who is ready to blossom into a confident boy! If you are looking to help show a dog the meaning of unconditional love so you can receive it in return, this is your boy. Right now, the world is very big for a little dog like him, but his amazing foster has been exposing him to new things and he is very receptive. Otter is looking to find his one and only. He adores his foster mom and would follow her to the ends of the Earth. Once you gain his trust, you’ve got it forever. Then, he blossoms into a goofy, sweet puppy who is a total cuddlebug, curling up in laps for snuggles and kisses. Otter is learning to love toys and likes the soft plushies he can carry around. Otter loves a bone or teething chew toy and will gnaw away happily.  When Otter is with his canine foster sibling, he is a totally different dog! It has been amazing to watch him learn how to “dog” when he has another dog to learn from. Now, he is trotting out of his crate in the morning and exploring the yard like a total pro! He copies everything his foster sibling does and loves to zoom around the yard with her. He loves to sit with her and encourage her to play with him. He has even started to enjoy his walks as he can take his cues from his foster sister.  Otter sleeps through the night in his crate and wakes up at 7 AM. He heads right outside to potty with some motivation from his foster mom. He follows her back inside after he finishes and gets some snuggles and belly rubs. He has breakfast in his crate as his foster family gets ready for the day. Otter is still figuring out the world around him. He is growing in confidence every day and is learning how to “dog”. Otter gets dinner at 5 PM. In the evening, he cuddles and loves on his foster mom. Otter is still figuring out walking and playing. He will need continued socialization and training to ensure he reaches a confident adulthood. He is doing well with potty training but does need some continued work.   Otter is an option for a foster-to-adopt trial period. He is only an option for those who have a resident dog, as he thrives in the presence of a confident canine sibling. Kids in the home should be over the age of 15.August 19, 2024, 11:40 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dolly is a good natured, easy going, charming, happy go lucky gal. Her tail is always wagging and she's ready to go on walks, curl up for movies, or whatever you want to do with your pup, she's up for it all. If you want the looks of a dobie but in a dog short enough to walk under your coffee table, Dolly is the one for you! Her cute and unique appearance is sure to turn heads. Dolly goes on lots of field trips and sleepovers, and is a volunteer favorite. One recent sleepover foster had this to say: "Dolly rests in my home throughout the day and I never see any rowdiness. She's playful in general - when she's not sleeping she loves playing with her toys. She also thinks she's a lap dog if you are in an armchair! She is a little excitable in the car but I try to give her her breakfast or dinner in the car partially frozen in a puzzle bowl, and that helps. She loves long walks, and yesterday she met 3 bigger dogs (on trails and sidewalk) that all went well, with interested mutual sniffs. She was a little excited, erect and wagging, but easy to call away after a few minutes of sniffing, even from an unleashed dog. She looked like she might get a bit bossy with a dog smaller than her but she was easy to call away. She got tons of attention for being so cute!"
