Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, March 8th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $250 Thank you to Sydney K. for her generous donation towards our Sticky Dogs to help find them homes.  Spring is an option for Foster To Adopt. Spring is a 9 year old Dachshund-Pit mix who can’t wait to blossom with her forever family! Spring came to our rescue with her litter of 2 week old babies after she was abandoned at the shelter, which is no place for a sweet little family. Now that her babies are all grown up and she has had some Mama relaxation time, she is ready to find a home to live out her golden years in! Spring weighs 27 pounds and is a low-rider! Are you a Pitbull lover but the size of a typical Pitty doesn't fit your life? Well, we have your answer here. This girl is all that but in a compact size!   Below is a note from Spring’s foster.  “Spring is a fabulously cuddly and loving gal who can’t wait to meet her new BFF! When you first meet her, she can take a little bit to warm up but once she does, she is ready for non-stop snuggles. She would love to find a home where she can spend her days loving her people, being the best zoom companion ever! Spring is more of a couch potato kind of dog, but she does love her daily romps around the neighborhood. Spring is fully potty trained both with potty pads and outside. Spring adores the softer things in life, from blankets to toys and dotes on her Lamb Chop. Spring would be a perfect hike companion or a “snuggle and movie” friend.  Spring starts her morning with a potty break and breakfast at around 7 AM. During the day, she hangs out in a playpen with her bed and toys. She spends her time mostly snoozing and soaking up the sunshine. After I finish work for the day, we go on a walk to the park where she sniffs and gets her zoomies out. After her walk, she comes home for dinner and snuggles as I unwind from the day. She ends her day curled up on her soft dog bed as she dreams of adventures ahead!  Spring would do best in a home where she can be the only dog, or with a low-key doggy companion. She loves walks and trots alongside me as we wander the neighborhood. Spring gets along with all people, but prefers a slow introduction involving LOTS of treats! Spring is such a lovely girl with beautiful, soulful eyes who deserves the absolute best forever home.” Spring would be best suited for a home with prior dog experience, but she could be a first-time dog. Spring would do best as a solo dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.March 5, 2025, 2:47 pm

This 3-4-month-old sweetheart is the perfect balance of puppy curiosity and calm companionship. While she enjoys playing with toys and exploring her surroundings, she’s just as happy curling up in your lap and quietly soaking in the world around her. From the moment she entered her foster home, Fable has charmed everyone with her easygoing nature. She attends events and wins hearts with her calm demeanor, happily accepting pets and snuggles from everyone she meets. She plays gently with her sister, Saga, and her foster family’s dog but never gets too rowdy—she’s the kind of puppy who knows how to have fun without bouncing off the walls. Fable loves soft toys, gentle games of tug, and carrying around objects that seem interesting to her. She’s delightfully curious but not mischievous—she might tilt her head at a new noise or follow you from room to room, just to see what you're up to. When playtime is over, she’s content to settle down for a nap, preferably right next to you. A Day in the Life of Fable 6:30 AM – Rise and Shine!Fable starts her day with a big puppy stretch and a happy tail wag, ready to head outside for her morning potty break. She greets the world with soft puppy snorts and a little nose wiggle, taking her time to sniff the grass before trotting back inside for breakfast. 7:00 AM – Breakfast & Morning LoungingAfter a hearty meal, Fable finds the perfect sunbeam to lounge in while the household gets ready for the day. She’s not the type to zoom around at full speed—she’s more of a “watch the world go by” kind of puppy in the mornings. If you sit down with a cup of coffee, she’s right there, curling up beside you like a little lap warmer. 8:00 AM – School Drop-Off BuddyFable loves car rides, especially when they mean tagging along for school drop-off. She watches from her car seat, ears perked, as kids file into the schoolyard. Sometimes she gets a few gentle pats from little hands before heading back home for a mid-morning nap. 10:00 AM – Playtime & ExploringThis is Fable’s time to gently play with toys or trot around the house, carrying her favorite plush toy like it’s her prized possession. If you’re working from home, she’ll happily sit by your feet, occasionally looking up as if to say, “Still there? Good.” 12:00 PM – Afternoon Nap & Snuggle BreakFable is a professional napper. She’ll either curl up on her dog bed, right next to her foster sibling, or climb onto the couch for a snooze. If you’re around, she’d prefer your lap, thank you very much. 3:00 PM – School Pickup & Social HourBack in the car, Fable is ready for her afternoon outing. She happily soaks in all the sights and sounds of the school pickup line, wagging her tail at familiar faces. Sometimes she even heads to a soccer practice or game, where she politely watches from the sidelines, tail thumping as she takes in all the excitement. 5:30 PM – Dinner & Evening Wind-DownAfter dinner, Fable enjoys a little evening playtime—nothing too wild, just some soft toy chewing and a few gentle zoomies before settling down again. 7:00 PM – Cozy Couch TimeThis is Fable’s favorite part of the day. She loves curling up next to her people, watching whatever’s on TV (or pretending to watch while dozing off). She’ll sigh contentedly, nuzzle into a blanket, and enjoy the warmth of family time. 9:30 PM – BedtimeOne last potty break before bedtime, and then Fable is ready to settle into her crate or dog bed. She gives one last big stretch, a sleepy yawn, and drifts off into dreamland—probably dreaming of another perfect, love-filled day. Her Ideal Home Fable would thrive in a home that appreciates her balanced nature. She’s social and loves meeting new people, so she’d enjoy a family that includes her in their daily lives. Whether it’s lounging on the couch, tagging along to a pet-friendly café, or having a quiet play session, Fable is happy as long as she’s with her people. If you’re looking for a puppy who’s as loving as she is well-mannered, Fable is ready to start a beautiful new chapter with you!March 5, 2025, 2:03 pm

Blacky is friendly, loves going on walks and greeting other dogs, and gives the best "welcome home" wiggle you will ever experience. She loves belly rubs and being told how cute she is. Good with dogs,
Story
Boy and Girl (whom we're calling Ralph and Littles) were found in Campbell, CA in December. We looked checked for microchips, put up flyers, and posted on multiple online sights but no such luck. The dogs took a few weeks to warm up to us and but were comfortable with our 3 big dogs almost instantly. At the beginning they were very timid but after a couple weeks, they were running around all over the place. We did notice that the dogs warmed up to the women in the house a lot quicker than the men in the house (about 2 weeks vs 6 weeks). UPDATE: the dogs were recently on a 2 week trial but the couple decided it was not going to work out which is why they are posted again. They said the dogs were very sweet but were scared of the husband so it was had for only the wife to take care of the dogs when they both worked full time. The couple had taken them to the vet and said the boy is about 3-5 years old and the girl is about 1-2 years old. They received a rabies shot and a flea dosage.

Story
Meet Mama Nelly! Say hello to Nelly, a darling 2-3yr old 14lb Dachshund-Chihuahua mix who’s as sweet as she is adorable! This beautiful, long, low, black-coated girl came to us from Fresno after a kind family rescued her as a stray. They had no idea she was pregnant, and just days later, she surprised them with six gorgeous puppies! Nelly was a fantastic mama, and now that her puppies are ready for homes of their own, it’s her turn to find her happily ever after. Nelly is a true sweetheart—dog-friendly (both big and small), kid-friendly, and an absolute cuddle bug. While she enjoys playful moments, she’s happiest as a lap companion, soaking up all the love and affection she can get. She loves sunbathing, rolling in the grass, car rides, and, of course, snuggling up with her people. Nelly is house-trained, food-motivated, and eager to please. She’s ready for a family or person to call her very own—a home where she can finally relax and enjoy being pampered.
