Story
Meet Sadie, a sweet and affectionate dog searching for a home where she can thrive. Sadie has been with us for about a year and is originally from Texas. She loves cuddling and playing with other dogs and is fantastic around babies. Her loyal, gentle nature makes her a great companion in the right environment. However, we’ve realized our home isn’t the best fit for Sadie. Despite our efforts, she seems uncomfortable and nervous around me personally, which has been challenging for both of us. She would do much better in a home where she feels entirely at ease and can bond closely with her people. She also barks to alert when visitors come in, which can be managed with training. We hope to find a loving, patient owner who can give Sadie the understanding and consistency she needs to feel safe and happy. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, and loyal friend, Sadie could be your perfect match!

Story
Lulu is a 2-year-old dachshund recently surrendered by her owner. She is a very anxious pup and tinkles often when lifted, approached or harnessed, but she is sweet and gentle with people and other dogs. She is in search of a quiet home with experienced and understanding owners, and no young children.    Environment   Lulu is crate and house trained (aside from her anxious incontinence). She walks well on a leash and loves to curl up on your lap for a nap. There were young children in her previous home and as a result she was fearful and easily startled, so she will need a quiet patient family who accepts her just as she is and can help her come out of her shell     Pets & People   Lulu would do fine as an only dog, but she is friendly with other pups and would also do well in a home with other pets. She does need to be separated from other dogs at mealtime. Lulu is very sweet but shy and it's best to allow her to come to you. Once she warms up she would love to curl up in your lap for pets. Lulu does tinkle if approached, lifted, or harnessed, so she will need a kind and understanding owner willing to work with her to reduce her anxiety.   Location   Lulu is available for adoption from Mendham, NJ. She does well in the car so she is available to be transported within reason   Please email jemmaallenny@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the link above. The adoption fee for Lulu is $375.00    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 8, 2025, 3:17 pm

Story
Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying.   &#226&#151&#143 Potty training: trained &#226&#151&#143 Dogs: bonded with brother Asa and they will need to be the only dogs in the house &#226&#151&#143 Fenced yard: preferred but not required &#226&#151&#143 Shared walls: suitable &#226&#151&#143 People: all (not tested with kids) Overview Meet Lady Ava, or "Ava" for short. She is a sweet and incredibly affectionate pup weighing 14 lbs with a lovely tan coat. She came to Little Paws when her previous owner could no longer care for her and her brother, and now they are looking for a loving lap to call their own. “ She’s a sweet senior who will melt your heart with her affectionate nature”   Environment Ava enjoys a moderate activity level with short walks and playtime. While she'd appreciate a yard, it's not essential for her happiness as she’s great on the leash. She's well-mannered in apartments or shared living spaces, being fairly quiet and respectful of her surroundings. She's quite content being left alone, making her a great companion for those with regular schedules.   Pets & People Ava is a true people person! She absolutely adores humans and will press her whole body into you for pets and attention. She's never met a stranger she didn't like and is incredibly gentle when taking treats. While she hasn't been tested with children yet, she's shown nothing but sweetness with all the people she's met. However, Ava would do best with her brother and her as the only dog in the home, as she can be nervous around larger dogs during walks and did not like sharing the attention with a third dog in the house.   Quirks & Personality This affectionate girl is the ultimate cuddle bug – she'll happily spend all day in your lap if you let her! She's quite submissive and frequently asks for belly rubs, which makes her utterly endearing. Ava is a gentle soul at mealtime, taking treats politely and enjoying her food at a leisurely pace. She tends to be more relaxed during mornings and early afternoons, with a bit more energy in the evenings. While she can be slightly nervous at times, human companionship helps her feel secure. She handles car rides well, settling down in her bed without fuss.   Location Ava is available for adoption from Salem, MA and the combined adoption fee for Ava and Asa is $500. Please email fosternorth@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 4, 2025, 10:53 am
