Story
We promise Georgia will always be on your mind after you meet this beautiful girl! Introducing Georgia, the sweet-as-a-peach Dachshund/Beagle mix who is ready to be your new best friend! Georgia is three years old and fully grown at 26 pounds. She was rescued from Swainsboro, Georgia and is flourishing with the love and care she’s received at Home for Good Dog Rescue. Georgia has the height and stature of a Dachshund with the adorable tricolor markings of a Beagle.
Georgia can be a little shy at first, but sit down beside her and let her snuggle against you and she will be as happy as can be. She’s quite the cuddler and will sit on you, near you, even under your chair as long as she can be close. She loves to lay on her back and let you scratch her belly as long as you’re willing. She’s so content to relax indoors or in a nice, cool patch of grass.
Georgia plays will with most other dogs, cats, and kids, and she’d make the most fun addition to any family dynamic. She does well on a leash and uses her cute little legs to walk right beside you. She’d be a great buddy for evening strolls and walks around town. Won’t you give this sweet Southern Belle a chance to bring you and your family all the joy in the world?
Georgia is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Given the conditions Georgia originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Georgia has completed her Heartworm treatment.
*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*
**Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org**
