Story
Hello nice people, my name is Sofia and I am a pretty Dachshund/Lab mix, long and low, with glossy black fur, about 2 years old, 22 lbs, and earlier this year I had a litter of 6 beautiful puppies. I was an amazing mama, unfortunately homeless at the time, so we all wound up at an animal shelter in Dilley Texas. I was appreciative of the assistance with keeping everyone safe and sound until I found out we were all set to be executed at the end of the week, and there was nothing I could do but accept my fate. Bless my lucky stars when a foster for 4 Little Paws Rescue saw us while she was picking up another dog, and she saved the day and saved our lives! I couldn't be more grateful and it shows in everything I do.
I’m sweet and friendly, a little shy when I meet new people, but always gentle and kind. It turns out I am a people dog, which means I am more interested in humans than other dogs, although I coexist nicely with the other dogs in my foster home. My favorite part of the day is when my foster parents come home from work and we go for a walk around the neighborhood, and later sit down on the couch to watch TV. There I am curled up right beside them, happy as a clam, being pet and loved on, relaxing and feeling at peace. I’m very loyal and whatever they do, I’m following along, so I guess you could say I’m a velcro dog, but I don't freak out when they leave for work. I stay nicely in my crate, but could also be left to roam freely since I’m a good girl. I’m housebroken and well-behaved, rarely bark, don't chew on their things or dig in their yard, don't guard my food, or fear loud noises. I dance for dog treats which is pretty cute, but I also know how to sit politely. I’m ready to find a forever home and I am so looking forward to joining a wonderful family anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard! Inquire about me today and bring me home!
