Story
Max is a 9 year old male dobie who found himself needing a new home when his owner developed Alzheimer's.  He is very selective of other dogs so he would probably do best in a home as an only dog.  And he has not met a cat but has chased after smaller dogs so might not care for them.  Due to his size and temperament he would be best with older children as well.  He can be a little nervous at first and unsure but once he warms up he is a silly guy who loves to play.    He is pretty independent but does want to be in the same room as his people, just not always cuddling.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.  He would do best with someone who knows the breed. His adoption fee is $300 To adopt Max email us at kakf3133@gmail.comJuly 11, 2024, 11:32 am

Story
Billy is a 5-7 year old Lhasa Apso mix.  He is a good boy who is still learning some manners and training (he was wandering the streets for an unknown amount of time).  He has a lot of anxiety and will sometimes bark if he can't find his person. When we picked him up we were told he was deaf but that does not seem to be the case.  He just has some selective hearing.  He is very friendly and loves to be with his people.  He also LOVES to play with the other dogs in his foster home and will have to have a doggie friend to play with.  He has not met a cat or kid so we aren't sure how he would be.  He is deaf but does well with hand signals and has seemed to adjust okay.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350 To adopt Billy email us at kakf3133@gmail.comJuly 14, 2024, 11:36 pm

Story
Clyde came in with his friend Bonnie.  These poor dogs were left in a public restroom tied up.  Clyde had chewed through his leash but didn't leave Bonnie.  That being said, now that they are safe and comfortable they really aren't that attached and would probably do better separated.  Clyde does best with dogs his size or bigger and needs a slow introduction, he would be great all by himself, soaking up all the people attention.  He loves to play, especially fetch and has tons of energy to burn off.  He still needs some work on his manners but is doing much better on his chewing and seems to be housebroken and is working on his basic commands.  He has not met a cat yet and is most likely too much for them.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 To adopt Clyde email us at kakf3133@gmail.comJuly 14, 2024, 11:36 pm

Story
Monkey is a friendly and calm Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.  He is about 10-11 years old.  He is great with other dogs but isn't really sure about cats.  He is scared of the vacuum and lawn mowers, probably the loud noise.  He absolutely loves to go on car rides and walks.  He does great out with his people but he has shown some signs of resource guarding so it is not recommended for children (maybe teenagers at the youngest).  He loves to relax on the couch for a good nap and he will expect to sleep in bed with you.  Due to his coat he will need regular grooming appointments.  He is housebroken but he does take his time wandering the yard so he would need a fenced in yard.  He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and fixed. His adoption fee is $400 To adopt Monkey email us at kakf3133@gmail.comJuly 14, 2024, 11:36 pm

Story
Mittens is an approximately 1 year old male Pitbull mix. He was brought in as a stray at just 17.4 lbs and absolutely skeletal. Mittens is now feeling MUCH better and weighs 28 lbs and is now looking for his forever home. Mittens has been around some dogs, he does get overstimulated at times and can be very rough with his playing with other dogs. He can be a little snappy about taking treats and for this and a few other reasons we recommend him being placed with a family with older or no children. His adoption fee is $60 and includes his neuter, microchip, negative heartworm test and vaccinations. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov to start the adoption process.
