Story
Archie is such a special little guy in so many ways that we aren’t sure that writing this bio will do him justice, but we sure are going to try! Archie was found as a skinny stray at six weeks old. At animal control it was quickly discovered that he had a vision impairment, and was clumsy and wobbly on his feet. The Animal Control veterinarian wasn’t quite sure what condition he had specifically, but knew something neurological was going on. When our team met him, and saw how spirited, loving, and happy he was despite his challenges, she knew that WISH had to help him and get him into a foster home. We didn’t know what was going on with him exactly, but we were committed to finding out as much as we could with the help of our veterinary team. Archie has seen our regular veterinarian, as well as an eye specialist. Despite some subtle facial deformities (that somehow just add to his cuteness), and his vision impairment, Archie is a fairly normal developing puppy. It is suspected that he may have cerebellar hypoplasia (which causes him to have a wobbly gait), that has improved as he has grown and gained more muscle (as is typical with cerebellar hypoplasia). If he does have cerebellar hypoplasia, he is pretty steady compared to other dogs and cats with the condition! He can run, jump, and play! In fact, he loves to play so much with other dogs that we are hopeful to find him a home with another playful dog to wrestle around with and play. Although we learned that Archie is blind, you’ll swear that he can see! He is able to quickly map out his surroundings and navigates them well. And if he gets confused, he lets out these little whimpers and cries almost like he is calling mom for help. We happen to find it so darn adorable! Archie is also able to follow sound, which is helpful when he is playing in the yard or can’t see you, but knows you are there. For Archie’s safety we think a home with no stairs or minimal stairs, and a fenced yard would be best. Archie is an incredibly friendly pup who really thinks everyone and everything wants to be his friend. Strangers? Yup! Kids? No doubt! Dogs? You betcha! He’s just a happy, go lucky guy. Which is pretty amazing considering the adversity he has experienced. He romps around with favorite toys, and likes to play chase like any other puppy. He loves a good nap, and is a world class snuggler. He quickly forms attachments with things he uses regularly like his crate, dog bed, and preferred toys, and thrives on routine. This is a skill that can take some dog owners months to train a puppy. But not Archie! He is calm in his crate, and quietly sleeps through the night. He is happy to find his favorite dog bed and take a nap, and is even doing well with housebreaking. Archie comes to find us when he has to go potty, but like any other puppy his age, he will still need support in this area. Archie’s breeds are a mystery to us, but given the area he came from, and his personality, we think it is likely that he is a pitbull or pitbull mix. Regardless of that we do know that he is 100% cute. Our vet thinks he will grow to be about 60 lbs. Archie is a really special boy looking for that special person or special family to share his life with. Every person that meets Archie falls in love with him. He’s got something about him where you just can’t resist his charms. Archie needs a home where he can safely explore and be afforded the opportunity to be his absolutely lovable self. Special needs dogs make outstanding companions and Archie is ready for the challenge.

Story
Do you believe in love at first sight? Well I believe in love at first sniff. Being born blind robbed me of the opportunity to see my forever family but it did not take my spirit, or my striking good looks. Somehow pictures never do me justice. Imagine the petite roundness of a bulldog body with a big block pittie head. And don't forget the double merle coat. I'm a beauty, its okay, I know it! Everyone who meets me is amazed at how special of a dog I am, too. Some say I would make an amazing therapy dog because I am so relaxed, lovable, and gentle. I enjoy the little things in life like listening to the wind and feeling the sun on my skin. I love to spend hours outside napping and sniffing. If I’m not ready to go inside yet I like to scrunch down into a little ball then spin and bark. I also love being inside, the cold floors, nice smells, and my foster siblings are great. The cats don’t seem to care about me, which is fine. We can coexist! But that’s okay me and the ferret got a bromance going on! I have a dog foster brother too! But, we haven't really figured out how to play together. He likes to play chasing games, and I just can't do that because I can't see him and he is so fast. So we stick to the roommate life which is okay with me! It will take me a bit but I will learn my surroundings, and map out my house, like all other blind dogs, and then be able to navigate the house with ease. People always swear that blind dogs can see because of how well these use their intelligence and other senses to find their way around! I’ve been with my foster mom for almost 2 months and in that time I’ve learned how to go from my room to the water bowl to the back door and then to NARNIA! I’ve also learned that I like squeaky toys and do not like tug a war. I am crate trained though and don't mind just laying down and napping. I actually really enjoy napping. Give me outside time, a good bed to nap on, and some cuddling and I'll be your perfect companion. As for home life a single story home would be ideal. More than few steps can be dangerous for a blind dog. I would love to find my forever family. Could it be you? The adoption fee for Wonder Boy is $450. Story
Willow is a 1 year old pocket pittie looking for her forever home. She is a sweet girl who loves to play and snuggle. She is dog friendly and currently in a home with two male dogs. She has been around small children with no issues and would love a family with kids who could should her attention! Here's a little about this sweet girl: The Good Stuff: 🐶 Playful Spirit: Willow loves to chase balls and play tug in the yard. She also loves a good chew toy! She is currently in a home with 2 male dogs and is friendly and playful! 🎾 Self-Entertainer and Social Butterfly: She's great at keeping herself entertained or playing with another dog friend. 🥰 Snuggle Bug: Willow loves snuggling with her people and is friendly toward new comers. 😂 Spunky & Pint Sized: Willow has a big personality for a pocket pittie. She is about 40lbs and will stay fun sized! Skills She Knows: 🪑 Sit ⬇ Down 🐾 Name Recognition Skills in Progress: 🔄 Trade 📣 Come Considerations: 🏃‍♀️ High Energy: Willow requires a commitment to regular exercise and would do best in a house with a yard. 🐕‍🦺 Work in Progress: Future training will be needed, but we're already working on basics. 😅 Playmates: Willow could be the only dog in the home or would love a playful sibling. A lower energy senior housemate who isn’t interested in playing would not be the best fit. If you're looking for a pint size love bug Willow is your girl. She will be your ultimate playful companion and can make any house a home 💖 The adoption fee for Willow Eve is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. Story
I am looking to rehome my nephew's Pitty. He has recently moved into a new home which does not allow pets. Harley is a very loving dog but was not very well taken care of. As far as I can tell she is in good health and nature. I have had her at my house with my 3 cats and has not been an issue. On the other hand she seems overly excited towards other dogs not sure if this is to play or not, so I have kept her away. She is NOT neutered. She is in need of a home that can give her the love and care she deserves.

Story
People often ask us what kind of dog Milo is, and we could try to guess what breeds he is (your guess is as good as ours), but we’d rather just tell you about his personality. Because he has a pretty great one! Milo is above all things, a lapdog. If there is a lap to be cuddled, he is there to curl up on it, and soak up all the love. And he isn’t picky. Be it his forever family that he is bonded to, or a friend visiting for dinner. Milo doesn’t discriminate. If you are a willing participant, he’s happy to share his snuggles with you! Milo doesn’t mind meeting new people, and engages them with happy tail wags both inside and outside the home. How dog friendly he is is a bit of an unknown as his foster home doesn’t have other pets, but we would be happy to explore this with purpose if a family that applies has other pets. He does show interest in seeing other dogs on walks, but has not met any of them. Milo very much enjoys his walks, and gets so excited when he realizes it is that time! He’s fairly low energy in the home, and doesn’t need a fenced in yard, but a walk or two a day would be necessary, along with other potty breaks. He doesn’t prefer his crate but will go in it when his foster family leaves the home. As is common with little dogs, Milo is working on his potty training, and shows continuous improvement. As for his eye, Milo likely sustained an injury to it before he was found as a stray. It was removed to prevent further issues down the line, such as glaucoma. It does not impact his daily life, and he is a normal guy! The adoption fee for Milo is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Story
Little Lovely Luna, yes little at 75ish pounds, is a super sweet girl that is learning that living in a house is wonderful. Being able to spend time with the people she loves is of top priority to our beauty queen. When she isn’t asking for love or giving you the most gentle kisses, she loves bully sticks to chew. Luna will take a squeaky toy but is not really sure what to do with them. Maybe she’ll figure it out one day! Luna knows sit and takes cookies and treats so softly. This is such an important skill when living in a home with children and she just seems to be such a natural at it. Luna likes exploring new things but prefers to have someone by her side while she does so. She is still warming up to items like vacuums, but then again we all know a dog who has an arch nemesis vacuum in their home, too! Some of her favorite activities outside of being the best house hippo there is is being in her backyard chasing cicadas. She keeps her crate clean and likes to listen to piano music while in it. Luna is doing pretty good at potty training, but still has an occasional accident in the house. She’s still learning, and that’s okay! The longer time that has passed since her spay, the better this will get, too. Luna enjoys hanging out with her foster mom in her office, on her blanket of course. She also is child friendly and loves to snuggle with her foster’s 9-year-old son. Give little Lovely Luna a chance, and her endless devotion and silly nature will keep you smiling every day. Luna is selectively dog friendly. No female dog friends for her (she’s the one and only queen of course), or male dogs that will be too demanding with play. The adoption fee for Luna is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Luna please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt.
