Story
About Lyra: She came from a home that kept her in a cow barn, with her mother and father (and maybe more but thats all I know). She was bred at first heat, but that didnt go well. I was not told what that actually meant. She had a huge hernia too, which needed care. She had no training, was food agressive, cage aggressive and didnt even know her name. She was just under a year when she became mine. Scared and not socialized with other nonfamily dogs, and severely underweight. Her bday is 1/1/21. She is now an amazing dog that is fully ready for a new loving home. If you need a walking or jogging partner, she would be great. She is not great with cats. I have 1 that she ignores, it doesnt run. The other 2 run so she will chase. She is friendly with other dogs but needs to be introduced properly. She will be timid with humans at first but will warm up quickly. She loves giving nonstop kisses and being cuddled. Great with being brushed and toenails cut. Loves her pool too. Cage trained.

Story
Honey is an energetic and loving dog! She's content with vegging on the couch, but also loves to play and fetch, but if you have regular tennis balls, you'll need to watch her as she likes to pull them apart little by little with her front teeth. Other than the balls, she's not destructive. Very much a dog that wants to stay by your side whether it's going to the bathroom or stepping out to check the mail, she will be at your heels or waiting by the door for you. Is not aggressive towards strangers but will of course warn you when someone she doesn't know comes to the door. I got Honey when she was 1-1.5 in 2020 so she's about 5 now, and I am unable to keep her due to a move that cannot be avoided. I'm hoping she can find a home with someone who will make her feel safe.

Story
I'm Akita/husky mix breed: adventure-seeking, loyal, and smart are central to my personality. I am dignified, reflecting my Japanese heritage, but I do have a cute trot that reflects my silly side when walking with my family. Speaking of my family, my devotion is legit. I would defend them fiercely against park squirrels, scary trash bags, and strangers who ring the doorbell. I'm calmer with strangers when my male owner is present than absent cause my job is, after all, to protect my female owner and the baby in the house when he isn't acting as alpha. I'm intelligent and learn FAST when food is involved. One ten min walk a day is enough activity for me as long as my home life is structured and I can interact w/ my humans a few times a day. 2yr old Indoor or outdoor dog Basic commands: sit, stay, lay, shake, potty Kennel trained Swims 4ft vertical Tiny scratch on lens of left eye -otherwise fine physical condition Comes with food, leash, kennel, brush, nail clipper, gentle leader, etc

Story
It's a-me, Mario! Mario is a quirky 9 year old goofball that is sure to steal your heart (instead of coins). This sweet boy sadly came to our shelter as a stray in March 2019. At his intake exam, we discovered that he was heartworm positive and would require treatment. Mario has been undergoing the "slow kill" method of treatment while learning a lot in our FIDO prison program. He hopes to be heartworm free very soon. Mario is a sweet boy who can be a little shy when meeting new people. He would prefer a calm, quiet home without small children. He gets along well with cats and can be picky about his canine friends (will require a meet and greet). Mario loves to run and play, so a fenced yard is required in order to adopt him.Mario is a member of our FIDO prison program. FIDO dogs are obedience trained and socialized by the prison inmates. The $250 adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, and heart worm test (and current with monthly preventative). They are house trained, crate trained, and know their 5 basic commands. If interested in meeting a FIDO dog, please fill out an application online at: inapl.org/adoption-application. Once it's processed, a member of our team will be contact with you.MarioShepherd mixMaleDOB: 3/29/2014Weight: 45 lbs.Heartworm Positive
