Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. George is all dressed for the Christmas season and what he really wants is a home of his own. He has had a very hard life from his days as a puppy tied to a wreck of a doghouse to ending up in our local, crowded animal control facility. Foster Shannon knew George as a hungry puppy and left food for him as often as she could. She even provided an igloo dog house to give him better shelter. Finally, he was removed from his home and was getting a chance at adoption. Unfortunately, George was diagnosed with heartworm and combined with his breed(pit mix), was literally hours from euthanasia due to lack of funding and too many animals. No adopters wanted to take on the $1000+ bill for treatment. Luckily, Shannon realized he was the same puppy she helped years ago and volunteered to be his foster home so he could go through his treatment. We pulled him based on his sweet personality and he has just completed his heartworm treatment and been neutered. George is now about 4 years old, loves to play, walks well on a leash and is dog and cat friendly. He greets each person with a wagging tail and his wide smile and would do well in most households. Please put in your application at  kindnessmattersrescue.org  and we will contact you immediately. Please remember that all animals in your home must be up to date on rabies and distemper and be neutered. Story
Reese and Jax are 5 year old pure breed Border Collies. They are absolute love bugs who just loves to cuddle. They are house broken, never chews anything that doesnt belong to them and is pretty low maintenance for the breed. They are being rehoused due to an unfortunate housing situation and is NO FAULT of their own. The family is devastated. They can be adopted together or separately.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lady found herself in a crowded animal control facility after her owner died and she was left outside to fend for herself.  She would have been adopted quickly as she was already spayed, housetrained and has a friendly personality.  However, Lady tested positive for heartworm and also limps from an old break in her front leg.  She gets along well but we feel a home with easy access to the outdoors with minimal steps would be the best match.  She is always ready for a walk and pulls slightly in the beginning but soon walks nicely with you.  She rides well in the car and likes everyone she meets.  Lady is currently in a foster home on the ESVA and has started her heartworm treatment which will take about 90 days.  She can be “foster to adopt” to local Eastern Shore of VA homes willing to take her for treatment in Greenbush.  She will be available to out of area adopters once treatment is complete.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 14, 2024, 7:28 am

Story
Im looking to rehome my Buxton, a French bulldog/boston terrier mix. Buxton is a spunky loving small/medium sized dog. He loves to cuddle and will make a great family dog and addition to your family. He isn’t a very high energy dog, but has the potential to go on runs/walks and have lots of playtime if that’s what you want from him. As long as he is with you, he is happy. Buxton does have some separation anxiety and does best when in a crate if left alone. I am rehoming him because we are moving and can not take him with us.
