She is affectionate and intelligent and knows some commands. She is pretty quiet and reserved at the shelter and a loving home would work wonders for her. Lady would do just fine in a home with kids! Story

Say hi to Nick! Nick is one of our “longterm residents”, meaning he has been waiting for a home for six months or longer. Nick would make an outstanding companion for somebody willing to work with him a little bit. Nick is obsessed with moving vehicles, and will chase after them. We wouldn’t be surprised if somebody dumped him out of a moving vehicle, or if he took off after one and never found his way back home, as he was picked up as a stray. We think Nick is 1 1/2 - 2 years old. He is a perfect medium size, and although he weighs 50 lbs, he’s compact and fits in our small dog kennels. Nick loves attention and crawling into your lap and getting as close to you as possible. He seems genuine and kindhearted, and it’s difficult to see such a nice dog waste his life in a kennel. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Nick, please let us know! Any kids or dogs in the home will need to come meet him. We can cat test if needed.

He has been adopted and returned twice because of his energy level and his rowdy play style with other dogs, and we are beyond determined to find his perfect adopter.Pierre is loving and affectionate and wins over every person he meets. He loves butt scratches and belly rubs, and wants to be the center of attention. Pierre has a hyper play style and would do best with other playful dogs who want to wrestle.Pierre seems very tolerant of children and gets along well with them, but he might be too energetic for small kiddos. Pierre loves car rides. He walks pretty well on a leash and enjoys going on adventures. She would do best in a home without too much going on. She is looking for an adopter without young kids or other animals, however we will do meet and greets with older kids/teens who won’t squeeze or grab her, and respect her space!The shelter is no place for a sweet senior like Mazie. This is YingYang! YingYang was seized as a humane case with three other dogs back in April. The four dogs in the home were constantly running loose around Marion, dodging in and out of traffic. They came close to getting hit on numerous occasions and after several warnings and attempts to educate the owner, the dogs were seized. YingYang in particular came in battered and filthy, and we aren’t sure how long she had been out on her own.YingYang is incredible. She wants nothing more than to sit in your lap. She seems to really enjoy kids, and seems playful with other dogs! She is around 4 1/2 years old and weighs 60 pounds. She needs a home without cats, but aside from that we think she would thrive just about anywhere!
