Story
Ranger came with the house that I bought, the previous owner could not take him when he left. He's a high energy dog who loves cuddles and hugs, and picks up tricks well. He is treat motivated. Ranger is a good dog, however I am very allergic to dogs. He has long fur that sheds quite a bit, the last couple of years I've had to quarantine myself to a different floor so as to not have allergy attacks. He is house trained, but needs leash training as he is usually put out on a long leash to run around. He's only been around 1 other dog, a female, and they got along well though they had to be separated as neither was fixed. Cats seem safe around him but they don't typically like him much, he tends to stand a foot or two back and just bark at them. My cat does not like him but she stays upstairs, they often sniff each other through the door. I am hoping to find a good home with a fenced in yard, or an active lifestyle so that he is able to use up all his pent up energy.

Story
Jalene is a 4 year old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. She was recently adopted and returned due to some jealousy of the other dog in the home. She still does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage. She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. No cats permitted in her new home. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! Story
Jax is a 1-year-9-month old Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix weighing 105 pounds. This big boy has no clue of his size and has no manners! He would benefit from obedience training (keep in mind obedience training is for you and the dog). Experienced adopters only! Jax is a very playful dog, he will play with anything he can get ahold of. Loves his herding ball and tug. Weighing in at 96 plus pounds he's known for stepping and jumping on people, he also fully believes he's a lap dog! He's quick to learn but is very stubborn. He has no leash manners, did we mention he needs obedience training?! He is housebroken and has previously lived with cats and another large dog. He will require a special diet and allergy medication, most likely for the rest of his life. He's not a big fan of baths, he had to have medicated baths regularly when he first arrived at the shelter. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Story
Ziggy is a 4-year-8-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Story
Bindi is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 30 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive, she can resource guard with her toys and other dogs-supervision needed at all times with toys. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. German Shepherd Dog Husky

Needs experienced adopter, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
DNA test results say his top three breeds are 30% German Shepherd, 25% Husky and 16% Pit Bull. He is 4 months old. He weighs 30 pounds currently. He is microchipped. He has all core shots plus Bordatella, Lepto, Corona, Lyme and Rabies shots. Good on shots till June 29th 2025. He is not housebroken yet but is working on it. He is progressing nicely but still needs a puppy pad. Just dont do the #2 business all the time while he is outside. He loves to play with his toys and plays fetch for a while then moves on to another toy. He loves belly rubs. He loves to cuddle up on the couch for a nap with you. He goes for walks and needs his harness for walks. He doesn't pull but wants to explore sometimes. I am the only person in the house and i am gone for 9 1/2 hours a day for work. He needs people that can be around for him more. He is getting bored being alone for so long. Has separation anxiety but giving him calming chews help. Will give his cage, leashes, harness, toys, treats, food, etc
