Story
Meet Ponyo, a lovable orange tabby who found his way into our hearts when he was discovered under a truck as a tiny kitten. Since then, we have provided him with a caring home and nurtured him into the well-behaved cat he is today. Ponyo is a delightful companion, effortlessly adapting to human interaction and getting along harmoniously with other cats and dogs. His open-mindedness extends to his diet, being unfussy about food, and he has impeccable litter training. This agile and athletic cat is in excellent health, maintaining his fitness without being overly indulgent in meals. Not only does Ponyo refrain from scratching furniture, but he also exclusively uses designated cat scratching items. He has never caused any damage to household items and is warmly embraced by everyone in the home. While Ponyp may initially show a bit of shyness and insecurity when introduced to a new environment, with patient care and companionship, he quickly reverts to his normal, affectionate self.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Amaretto is a 2 year old young lady that one of our volunteers rescued from a precarious life. She was living with her littermates on the street in a high danger zone. We couldn't leave them there, so our volunteer took all of them in to give them a chance at life. Amaretto is a shy girl, it will take her a while to warm up to her humans, but once she does, you have a friend for life. We know she appreciates having been rescued and wants to trust people so badly but it just takes her a little time. She could easily join a home with another cat or cat savvy dog. She is particularly fond of one of her siblings. So if you are interested in adopting a pair, please look at Kahlua's bio as well. They do not need to be adopted together, but if interested in two kitties, they would be a great duo. Because of her initial shyness, we would be open to a foster-to-adopt program with her. If you think she might be the one for you but want to do a trial period to make sure, we can arrange that. She loves her cat tree and soft beds in her foster home. And she is very treat motivated, so that would be a fast track to bonding with her. She just needs a forever person or family to give her a chance. We know her purrfect person will see her post and know she is the one! She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.November 5, 2024, 9:13 pm

He loves to be pet and rubs up against your legs to show his thankfulness to you. He especially loves mealtime, where he is the most vocal. He can't wait to see what's for breakfast, lunch and dinner! He could easily join a home with another cat or cat savvy dog. He is particularly fond of one of his siblings. So if you are interested in adopting a pair, please look at Amaretto's bio as well. They do not need to be adopted together, but if interested in two kitties, they would be a great duo. Kahlua is very playful and would love a cat tree in his new home and lots of toys. We are also looking for a home that will give him a few weeks to settle in as he may present a bit shy at first. And for that reason, we would be open to a foster-to-adopt program with him. If you think he might be the one for you but want to do a trial period to make sure, we can arrange that. Regardless, he is a great guy and deserves the best life ever. Can you make his dreams come true? He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.November 5, 2024, 9:13 pm

We got a call that a kitty and her little ones were living in some bushes in an apartment complex and were in desperate need of rescue. Our volunteers sprang into action and were able to get Shell and her babies to safety. After a trip to the vet and given the all clear, we placed them into one of our loving foster homes. All of the kittens have been adopted and now it is Shell's turn She has the sweetest personality. She has been so gentle to all the humans that have helped her, its like she knows she's been given a second chance at life. She doesn't have to worry where her next meal is coming from. She gets to nap all day and get lots of kisses and cuddles from her foster home. She has just discovered toys and is starting to play. Poor girl hasn't had a chance to be a kitten herself, well now is the time. She would love to have a cat tree in her forever home. Yummy treats and a water fountain. We think she could be a great addition to a home dynamic that has another cat, cat savvy dog or kids. We also think she would be just as content being your one and only. She is very easygoing. And if you are looking for a lap cat, look no further. She can't wait to meet you. Apply to adopt this spectacular girl today! She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.February 3, 2025, 3:43 pm

She has a more passive temperament but is engaging with her humans and loves to be loved. She gets along great with her fellow tortie sister Symphony, so if you're looking for two special girls, they would be a great pair. She also gets along great with the two resident cats in her foster home. She would love to find a home to fill with all the love you can handle. If you are looking for a kitty that is not needy but loves her humans, look no further. She enjoys lounging on the various cat perches and playing with the multitude of interactive toys provided to her by her foster parents. Although she is good with other cats, because of her easygoing nature, we also think she could be a solo cat in the home. As long as you give her a soft cat bed to sleep in, yummy food, and a tall cat tree to climb, you will have a friend for life. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt this beauty today.January 12, 2025, 10:31 pm

He had only a few hours left when one of our amazing volunteers sprang into action to save this handsome guy and his brother from certain death. We placed him in one of our wonderful foster homes and they have reported to us that he is a true joy to be around. He also has bonded with our Manx kitty named Maple. They are inseparable, so if you are looking for two kitties, they are an amazing pair. (Please read Maples bio as well) Billie is affectionate, sweet, loving, and very grateful to be alive and is looking forward to finding his forever home. He would love to have a cat tree in his home and lots of toys. His foster home says when you bend down to pet him, he just plops over on the floor to give you his belly to rub. He loves to be with his humans wherever they are in the house. He would love a warm lap to nap on during TV time or while you are working from home. He is waiting to meet just the right family or person to help him live his best life ever. Could Billie be your guy? Apply to adopt him today. Constantly rubbing against her persons legs and giving head butts. She has been in a home with other resident cats and large breed dogs, so she could easily join a home with either. She loves her humans but is equally enamored with her animal friends. She has been very friendly with anyone she meets, furry and human alike. She loves to play hard and then enjoy a luxurious nap. We joke about the fact that she always has a little bit of a sleepy look, but it's a very endearing quality about her. She would enjoy a cat tree in her new home, and she is obsessed with soft blankets. She is sure to bring a huge smile to her new parent or families face every day. If you think Zelda is the one, apply to bring this cutie home today! She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped.
