Story

Sunshine is a beautiful and friendly 3 year old Golden Retriever. Initially when she came into rescue, she was very timid and shy. Now her favorite thing is cuddling up with her human on the couch. She also really enjoys stuffed toys and will usually have one (or several) wherever she goes. Sunshine gets along well with both of the resident dogs and the resident cat. She has been friendly to everyone she has met and loves attention! One fear she is still working on conquering is going outside. When Sunshine goes outside, her teeth will chatter, she will drool and pull to try to go back inside especially if there are any loud noises. Because of this, she hasn’t quite conquered potty training yet. She is 100% trained on potty pads when she is indoors and will go potty outside when she goes out. When she has to go, she has a tendency to try and go to her potty pad first. I think a fenced in yard where she could freely explore would be ideal. Sunshine had a hard start to her life but has come so far already in such a short amount of time. With a loving and patient family to continue her progress, she will be an excellent addition to any home! Story

Dunne, which is pronounced “Dune,” is a very special boy who made the journey all the way from Afghanistan to come live in Minnesota. He is a sweet, gentle, 50 pound golden mix born 1/1/22. He is starting to adjust to his new surroundings and has learned so much in the last few weeks. Poor boy has not had much for socialization, we are working with him but needs more time to learn to "be a dog" we recommend he is the only dog for a while. Dunne loves to be around his people so much that being kenneled is hard for him. He is not a fan of the kennel, he gets calming treats when we have to leave or when he has to be in his kennel. He loves car rides and loves to be brushed and pet. He nudges your hand for neck scratches. He also loves getting a bath. He is very concerned about pleasing others and is easily trained. He has a very mild, sweet disposition with a low energy level. He would probably love a doggie companion to help show him how cool it is to be a dog in the USA. He will be a dedicated companion with lots of love to give. Dunne is a blank canvas and would love to have a person that will love him and teach him how to be the dog he knows he wants to be. Hi, my name is Peony but my foster mom calls me Awnee. I’m a female Golden Retriever born 4/6/24. I am a very happy and snuggly girl. I love people, kids and other dogs. My foster mom has taken me swimming in the pool. I do okay but she thinks I’d do better in a lake where I can enter slowly. I haven’t used a leash but I did have a harness on and didn’t seem to mind it. My foster mom thinks I will be fine on a leash. I am doing well learning to sit, stay and lay down. I don’t really care for my kennel but I don’t mind being in a pen. I was outside during the fireworks and I slept through the whole thing so I don’t think loud noises will be an issue for me. I ride well in a car and just lay down to sleep. I am alone when my foster mom runs errands and that is the one time I know I have to be in my kennel. Otherwise, she is home most of the time. I do sleep through the night. I will bark when I am frustrated but stop fairly quickly. I am not house trained but do use a potty pad. My foster mom thinks I will pick this up pretty quickly with a schedule. I am a fun loving, snuggly little girl who is looking for a family to spend my life loving and being loved. A home with kids would be ideal for Jiffy as he absolutely LOVES playing with kids! He really enjoys chasing kids around in the yard and has really fun zoomies! As playful as he is he is just as much of a cuddler and will curl right up with you for a good nap!! Jiffy has been around senior cats and as much as he would love to run around and play with them they just keep to themselves. He tries to play with a senior dog but she gets tired quickly so another younger playful dog friend could also be a good companion fit!! Jiffy is truly a sweetheart with a very good temperament and is such a sociable little guy!!
