Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm

Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 year-old, 72 lbs Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area as a stray this girl is now in New England area in a foster home.   We are looking for a mature and settled home that is quiet and will be a leader for Myra and help her to know that she must follow the rules of the household. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. She is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play in a fenced yard.  She is housebroken and comfortable in a home.  We have key suggestions as to how to set boundaries for such a big girl when getting acclimated to a new environment and family. Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com or leave a text message at 615-661-5333. To learn more about Fluffy, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Fluffy will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event she will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) True to her name, Fluffy is a lovable, soft, and cuddly ball of fluff! This sweet 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix may be a bit shy and reserved when meeting new people or adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings, but once she feels at ease, she transforms into a playful and happy pup who just wants to have fun. With her striking black and tan coat and expressive eyebrows, Fluffy is a real head-turner. She's incredibly affectionate, and there's nothing she loves more than snuggles and belly rubs. Outdoor adventures are a favorite of hers, and she enjoys long walks, though some leash training would help her become even more confident on her outings. Because of her size, Fluffy would do best in a home without small children. She's looking for a family who can give her the space, love, and patience to truly blossom into the playful, loving companion she's meant to be. If you're looking for a big snuggly dog who will be your loyal best friend, Fluffy might just be the one!

Story
Hi! My name is Groot. I'm a fun-loving, stunningly handsome Great Pyrenees mix! I'm a Taurus--so I'm very loyal and smart. I'm neutered and house trained. I love cuddles and smooches and will follow you like a shadow! I'm about 90lbs but sometimes inside I feel and act like I'm 10lbs--LOL! I'm a very good walker and I don't even pull like I hear some dogs do. I like all kinds of foods and treats. My humans say I'm good boy...except for when I get into fights with my older brother dog. Not sure why we fight--it's never over food, mainly attention I think, which is why my humans are trying to find me a new home. I like to play with other dogs and I get along great with the resident cat. I also love kids, even babies. If you think I might be a good fit for your home, please apply for me today. The adoption fee for Groot is $475. If you are viewing on PetFinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for Groot, please visit our website www.frecklesfoundation.org. Dogs are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14138Name: HerculesGender: MaleBreed: Great Pyrenees MixAge: 16 weeksWeight: 40 lbs (Estimated adult weight: 100 +/- lbs)Current Location: Lanexa, VAAbout HerculesMeet Hercules, a handsome 16 week-old Great Pyrenees mix with a sleek black coat accented by charming white polka dotted socks. Hercules is a gentle giant in the making with a heart full of love! His calm and gentle temperament makes him a dream companion. He isn’t pushy or mouthy, and while he can be a little shy when encountering new experiences, with some loving guidance, he quickly gains confidence. This sweet boy absolutely adores other dogs and plays wonderfully with them. He’s currently being crate trained and is settling in well, especially with a cozy covered crate. When it comes to potty training, he’s a pro as long as he’s on a schedule. Like any growing pup, Hercules needs plenty of rest to recharge for his playful moments. One of Hercules’ most endearing qualities is how much he loves to snuggle. He’ll melt into you the moment you pet him and will happily climb into your lap if you sit on the floor. He’s working on basic commands like "sit" and "down," and his treat and toy motivation makes him eager to learn and please. What Makes Hercules Special- Gentle Personality: Hercules enjoys one-on-one time with people and is incredibly affectionate, making him an ideal companion for those who value quiet bonding moments.- Laid-Back Nature: While he enjoys playing with his siblings, Hercules tends to have a calmer, more relaxed demeanor compared to the rest of his litter.- Growing Confidence: He thrives with gentle guidance and reassurance, making him a great fit for a family willing to nurture his potential.- Future Adventurer: As a Great Pyrenees mix, Hercules is likely to enjoy outdoor activities and would love a home with access to a yard or space to explore.Ideal HomeHercules would do well in a home that offers:- A patient and loving environment where he can build trust and confidence.- Plenty of space to accommodate his future size and energy needs.- A family ready to provide exercise, training, and lots of cuddles.Included Veterinary Care- Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations- Microchipped- Heartworm preventative- Flea and tick preventative- Worm/parasite treatments - Note: Hercules is not neutered yet due to his young age. His future family will need to arrange for this at the appropriate time.Hercules is more than just a pup—he’s a loyal, loving companion in the making. If you’re ready to welcome a gentle giant into your home, apply today to meet this special boy! Hercules’ future family will be incredibly lucky to have such a loving, gentle pup. ---Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.
