Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 year-old, 72 lbs Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area as a stray this girl is now in New England area in a foster home.   We are looking for a mature and settled home that is quiet and will be a leader for Myra and help her to know that she must follow the rules of the household. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. She is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play in a fenced yard.  She is housebroken and comfortable in a home.  We have key suggestions as to how to set boundaries for such a big girl when getting acclimated to a new environment and family. Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com or leave a text message at 615-661-5333. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 12, 2025, 12:10 pm

To learn more about Juno, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Floof? Are you looking for floof in your dog? Well, have we got the boy for you! Meet Juno. We are still getting to know this super sweet boy. What we do know, besides the floof, is that he LOVES being pet and close to people. Given his breed, he is chill and happy to survey the world around him. He has been doing well while in his foster home, even doing all his business outside. How well behaved! Sometimes, though, that world can be a little scary, so he is looking for a family that is patient, loving, and ready to provide mental and physical stimulation. In return, Juno promises to be your best friend forever.

(*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) Meet Layla, who’s new to Lost Dog. We’re still getting acquainted with her; however, what we already know for sure is that this 7-year-old Great Pyrenees mix is a happy and healthy energetic girl! She’s outgoing and loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs. She can be a bit jumpy in her excitement, so she would benefit from some training—she’s very smart and eager to please though, so she’ll be a well-mannered girl in no time at all. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Chili is 4yo, weighs 98lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Chili knows 'sit', 'come', 'stay', and 'paw'; she loves car rides but dislikes vacuums; Chili is with her family inside the home during the day and sleeps in her crate at nighttime in home as well.  Chili's guardian adds:  "We love her so much and this was a very difficult decision for my family - she deserves the world.  She is very low maintenance with the exception of her fur - She is a heavy shedding breed, but with a few brushes a week, it keeps it down drastically!  It's Chili glitter:).  With daily brushing, it is barely noticeable.  Chili loves being outside within a fenced yard - she LOVES chasing birds and is convinced she can catch them, lol.  Sometimes she will just lay and soak up the sun for hours before coming back inside." Chili's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "We have had Chili since 8 weeks old, but due to recent health issues, as well as my grandmother I care for, I am looking for a family that has the time Chili deserves to continue loving her." Chili's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  Chili had ear infections during puppyhood and once in adulthood, which were resolved. Chili's guardian states the following regarding children:  Chili lives with children, currently ages 8 and 13, so her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Friendly, excited at first then lays down.  Tolerates play and petting. Chili's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Chili has lived with a dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating... "When properly introduced, Chili is great!  I use the sit command as dogs pass and she is fine. I will say if the other dog barks or lunges FIRST Chili immediately responds and will bark, snap and lunge.  She does not have a lot of experience with new dogs as we did not have the opportunity to fully socialize her.  I do not suggest she be in a home with other dogs just because she has only been comfortable with the dogs she is used to within our extended family (that come over to visit).  I would prefer she be in a one-dog household only because I can't confidently vouch for how she would react living with an unfamiliar dog."      Chili's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Chili lives with cats, so her guardian recommends her living with cats, stating "Chili loves our cats (can't say they love her back, but they do tolerate her).  She sniffs and ignores them". Chili's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Barks alot Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Chili's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "Chili would do great with a single person, couple or family as the only resident dog.  She loves affection and interaction.  She truly thrives being a part of her home and it's daily activities." Story
Jasper is a gentle giant and the very definition of patience, kindness, and resilience. This sweet boy went into shelter in 2021 and found a loving home, but tragically, he was returned in October 2024 when his beloved adopter fell ill. Despite all the changes in his life, Jasper remains the same gentle soul—calm, loving, and full of quiet wisdom. He’s navigating some vision and hearing loss, and was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease. But with the right medication, he’s already improving! What he needs now is a warm, safe place to spend his golden years—a home where he can be cherished for the incredible dog he is. Jasper gets along well with other dogs and moves through the shelter and outdoor areas with ease, winning hearts wherever he goes. He is housetrained (though does thrive on frequent potty breaks due to his Cushing's diagnosis) We just need the right person to see what we see—a dog who deserves love, comfort, and a family to call his own. Jasper is SO ready to bring so much love into a home. Jasper is 9 years old and 81 lbs. fostered in Rockville, MD please apply at mirishaven.org
