You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus tax Friendly! Not treat motivated  No accidents No separation anxiety  Dwight would do best in an active home (His foster believes a home without younger children or another resident dog would be ideal) Loves to be outside  Goes on errands with his Foster like Home Depot runs and Petco visits One time Dwight saw a mannequin and nuzzled it's hand so it would 'pet' him - Cute!! Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi  Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 2 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Kit has been in rescue for over one year & celebrated her 2nd birthday (9/29) by showing foster mom a new trick. She is almost always the first one to come in when called. This is a huge milestone because she was so skittish when arriving into rescue that she would run away anytime she was approached or called to come in. She now has a perfect routine after 18 months, but it has been slow progress.  She loves getting pets & has been enjoying belly rubs as of recent. Kit loves other dogs but tends to be very dominant and a little snappy when meeting new dogs for the first time. She would be fine with a dog that is less dominant or with a patient alpha, who will gently show her who’s in charge. She would also be fine as an only dog. She absolutely loves puppies & is very gentle, so the perfect scenario may be that she is the first dog & another is added at some point. She cannot be around small animals, such as birds, cats, or chickens, as her prey drive is HIGH. We have chickens & she’s gotten into them this summer with unfortunate outcomes for the chickens. She definitely needs a fenced yard because her absolute favorite thing to do is run! She will frolic & play for as long as she can. She loves long walks, soft toys & sleeping on the couch or in bed. She doesn’t need to be kenneled although when she is in new places, she may chew on things she is not supposed to, such as socks, pillows, and cushions. She has not done this in a very long time but it is a nervous response for her. She would love a home where she could have more one on one attention as she doesn’t ask for much.  Due to her cautious nature, older, respectful kids would be best. She will take time and patience to adjust to a new environment but when she does the little things will reward you tenfold. She's been in rescue long enough and would love a home of her own!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 23, 2025, 9:48 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Sunday, January 26th from 10:30-11:30 am . Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hi, I’m Roper, a 7-year-old with a heart as big as my paws (and I’ve got some pretty big paws)! I weigh about 55 pounds, but I promise I’m all cuddles and calm vibes. I’m super chill and love nothing more than lounging outside in a fenced yard, watching the birds and squirrels do their thing. I’m not much of a barker, except when those pesky garbage trucks or emergency vehicle sirens pass by – gotta keep my humans safe, right? I’m a mellow guy who enjoys the simple pleasures in life: belly rubs, cuddling with my foster mom, and occasionally letting out a quiet woof when something surprises me. I’m potty trained, crate trained (though I don’t really need a crate since I’m so well-behaved), and I walk pretty well on a leash – though I’m still perfecting my leash manners. My favorite thing? Being outside to take in all the sights and sounds, or just chilling with my people.  I’m really hoping you have a fenced yard because being outside to watch things and enjoy all the smells is just the bestest thing ever!  I’m good with other dogs of all sizes, so I’m open to sharing my space with another dog if needed.  I’m a bit of a quiet guy who loves attention but doesn’t need to be the center of the party. I know some fun stuff too, isn’t that cool?  I know “sit”, “down”, “come” as well as a command for go outside.  Aren’t I smart?  I do love attention and belly rubs, but I also really love my peoples and keeping them company.  If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who’ll keep you company on the couch or the porch, I’m your boy! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas anc can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
Juneau is a sweet well behaved Great Pyrenees. We don’t want to have to rehome her but new schedule is unfair to her and she should be with a family that has more time. She is about 85 lbs and is 5.5 yrs old and needs a loving home to go to. Very easy going and calm. We will miss her greatly. Also needs a fenced yard as this breed is known to roam. (Juneau was adopted but recently returned for she ended up being just too big for the family that had adopted her. She’s a great girl but definitely a large breed that needs to be considered.)

Story
Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at Tito's Handmade Vodka. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $250.00 will be applied during the contract process. Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. He's a great big, lovable goofball who would do great with a family that wants to snuggle and play with him! Logan is a big boy who really likes people. However, due to his size and occasional mouthiness he'd do best in a home with older children. He also isn't super comfortable with small dogs. He would love to have a larger canine friend. He walks well on a leash but is working on some leash reactivity. He requires a physically fenced yard in his fur-ever home. Are you the one for him?

Story
I need a temp foster from 2/14 - 2/23. Preference for a foster home who is in Plymouth or near The BB office. Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can help! Hi! My name is Petey, and I am from Missouri! From his foster: Petey is a a sweetheart who seeks out mischief when he thinks no one is looking. His favorite activity is wrestling and running around with his brother, Winkler. Petey took to potty-training immediately, and continues to improve, even in the frigid cold. He is doing well on a schedule and relieves himself quickly when we go outside. He is slowly but surely practicing being on a leash, but right now the leash seems more like a fun chew toy. Petey is more on the shy side, but is coming out of his shell more and more each day. He gains a lot of confidence from other dogs and would love to have a dog sibling to show him the ropes.
