Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. He's a great big, lovable goofball who would do great with a family that wants to snuggle and play with him! Logan is a big boy who really likes people. However, due to his size and occasional mouthiness he'd do best in a home with older children. He also isn't super comfortable with small dogs. He would love to have a larger canine friend. He walks well on a leash but is working on some leash reactivity.

Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Hello, This is Bruegger. We adopted him 3 years ago from the formerly known Secondhand Hounds Rescue. Our family continues to grow and we are unable to give him the attention he deserves. Bru is a larger breed dog who loves to be loved. He is very loyal and the protector of the house. Since he is a bigger dog that means a big bark. He loves to be active and go on walks or visit the dog park. Most of the time he is napping. Bru should be in a larger home with a large fenced in yard. He can take a longer time to settle down and is very excited when meeting other people and dogs. He is house trained. He can go in a crate, but does not necessarily like them. A home without children may be preferred.

My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! Hi! My name is River! I am from Missouri. From her foster: River is an incredibly intelligent sweetheart. She is extremely timid and shy, and is often fearful of new people. Once you gain her trust, however, you will become one of her "pack" and she is very loyal and protective. We are working with her on getting more comfortable around humans she doesn't know, but her adopter should be prepared to continue working with her on this. Once she is comfortable with her surroundings, she lets her guard down and shows you her fun-loving personality. She goes through chew toys like no one's business, and loves running around the fenced-in yard with my resident dog. Though she might be wary of humans, she LOVES being around other dogs. Her whole personality changes when she has another, confident dog with her. She immediately becomes more confident and more willing to do the "scary" things. She also does well around cats and pays little attention to them. She requires an additional medication to address her anxiety, and her adopter will need to be prepared to continue this regimen. Her ideal home will also have another dog that she can look to and feel more confident. Because of how timid and skittish she is, a home with young children may not be the best fit.
