***In order to alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society's physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form.***Demi is a playful pup that loves being around other pets as well as befriending them and playing fetch or chase! She hasn't spent too much time around cats but typically leaves them be just like she does our neighbors cats when she sees them. She loves kids and always plays nice with them although she might get a bit too excited and try to jump towards them to give them a kiss. She's had no preexisting health issues or conditions, she's up to date on all her vaccines and very recently went to get a check up. The vet said that everything looks great and so does she! She's not on any medication nor does she have any dietary restrictions. As far as her training goes she is a well trained dog who knows to go to the bathroom outside on her own and will typically go to the same spot each time without guidance. However she doesn't have much experience being inside the house, the reason for this being because we had issues with the other residents of our home who under no circumstance would let her inside- so we had to make the garage her home. The last thing I want is to watch as that smile of hers that manages to light up any space slip away as she gets used to a lonely life. She's gotten me through so much all I want to do is provide her with the love she has me- and find her a safe, loving home who is capable of taking good care of her but also caring for her. I did the best I could with the former confusing it with the latter at times. I'm just trying to find her a family that appreciate her for the incredible dog she is.Please reach out to kaleksovski007@gmail.com for more information.

He loves every single being that he comes in contact with; cat, dog, human, mouse, traffic cone, fence post. He loves everyone and everything. He has never, ever shown any signs of aggression, and has never bit, barked, or growled at any other living being. Beau is kind and gentle with children, albeit a little bit excited, as he is with any other human or animal. He hasn't had any health issues, and is currently up to date on all of his shots. No dietary restrictions, and has been house-trained, crate trained, and recall trained (when he isn't too distracted, he definitely has doggy ADHD!) Story
HACHI Available for Adoption FAST FACTSMale, Husky Mix, 55 lbs, 2 years oldEnergetic, Smart and PlayfulMedium energyPeople FriendlyPotty Trained Are you an active person/couple/family looking for a pooch who can keep up with you? A 4-legged buddy who will walk/hike/jog by your side for miles and still have energy to spare? Well look no further because you’ve found him—me, Hachi,, the Energizer Bunny disguised as a handsome white dog. My background is pretty sketchy. I was wandering the streets on the south side of Chicago when the police picked me up and and brought me to Chicago Animal Care and Control. That’s where one of the CARE staff found me, looking cool, calm, and collected in my kennel, and decided to bring me to the Skokie shelter. I’ve clearly experienced some mistreatment in my past that has made me cautious meeting new people But once I know you’re my friend, I relax and warm up. The staff member who’s been working with me daily predicts that after I settle into my forever home, I’ll be the most loyal, devoted, and fun canine you’ll ever know. As I’ve said, my energy is endless, so my potential adopter(s) must commit to giving me lots of exercise each and every day, rain or shine. In addition to walking/hiking/jogging (I have good leash manners, by the way), I also adore being free for extended playtime in the backyard. I’m aball fanatic, particularly tennis balls (I like to surround myself with about 20), and can entertain myself for hours, tossing and retrieving them. But this game would be even more fun if you threw (or hit) the balls for me to chase and return. And maybe we could add a frisbee into the mix. Who knows, I might have the makings of a flying disc champion! Just in case you’re wondering, I definitely have an off-switch, and I chill out indoors. Just give me a ball of some type and allow me to watch what’s going on—I really don’t like being cut off from the action. As for the basics, I’m potty trained but hate being crated. I’m getting help withthat, but it may be that crates trigger a bad memory I just can’t get past. Finally, for now, I must be the only animal in the house, and no small children (older kids would be fine). Everyone at the shelter has been so wonderful to me, but I dream of having a kind, loving, and active forever home. I hope my bio makes you want to get to know me better, and that you’ll fill out an adoption application ASAP. Until we meet…. I have been microchipped and neutered and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love and Licks Hachi  August 18, 2024, 9:00 pm

** Roo currently in a foster home, and is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet!**Greetings, everyone! My name is Roo, and I may be 15 years young, but I've still got plenty of pep in my step and love in my heart. I'm here to prove that age is just a number, and I'm ready to find my perfect retirement home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by love and comfort.I may be a senior, but that doesn't mean I've lost my zest for life. I enjoy leisurely walks where I can explore and sniff to my heart's content. I also love hanging out with other pups and sniffing everything I can! One thing is guaranteed, I'll be indulging in a good nap or two.I do have some special needs-I'm on a prescription kidney diet to keep me healthy, and I have issues with urinary incontinence that require a bit of extra care. But don't let that deter you! With the right family who understands my needs and is willing to give me the love and attention I deserve, I'll thrive and bring so much joy into your life.I have a gentle and loving personality that shines through in every tail wag and affectionate nuzzle. I get along well with other pets and adore human companionship. I'm a loyal friend who's always there to brighten your day with my wagging tail, silly trot and soulful eyes.If you're looking for a mature companion who's full of love, wisdom, and a lifetime of experiences, then look no further than me, Roo!** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **
