Story
Introducing MAX, a 1 year old, 36 pound, VERY special Husky mix. When Max was around 8 weeks old he became the sole survivor of a house fire where he suffered terrible burns on his back, legs, and tips of his ears; it took him about 9 months for his skin to regrow and heal. He will likely never have fur in some areas so he needs a coat for protection in the cold and will likely need protection of his skin from the sun in warmer weather. Please don’t let that dissuade you from considering this wonderful dog! Max is such a sweet and loving dog who doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! He is very affectionate and loves to be hugged and petted. Because he genuinely seems happiest when another dog plays with him, we are seeking adopters that have another playful dog in the home. Max may be a little too much for some small dogs, especially older ones but his best buddy is playful Shih Tzu/Bichon mix named Bogie - who loves to play chase with Max in the yard. Inside the home, Max is calm and easy going. He is happy to chew and play with his Nylabones and Kong Chews for hours and is quite good at “self entertainment.” Max cannot be crated so his foster mom uses an inside dog pen when she goes to work. True to his Husky lineage, Max will serenade you when he wants to go outside or wants to eat. He still has some puppy characteristics so proper puppy proofing will be important in the home. Max would do best in an adoptive home with another dog or multiple dogs AND someone who is home more and who will take him for daily walks and have deliberate play-time with him. He is a smart dog who would excel at different types of training. Max will require a high fence as he can easily jump over a 5 foot fence. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, treated for burns, been dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.  Our online application isn’t working correctly so please contact us so we can send a copy via email to you. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     January 5, 2025, 2:48 am

Story
I rescued Sadie back in 2023. I’ve since had a major life change and am looking to rehome her. Preferably to a family or single person who is active and adventurous (fenced yard is a plus). She is a very active girl who loves to run. Sadie is the sweetest pup you’ll ever meet. She enjoys spending most of her time in the outdoors exploring nature. She is good in the house and is not destructive. Disclaimer: she did slip through my neighbor’s fence that was connected to ours and she got out and got into a tussle with another dog. In the midst of it, a lady’s hand was bit. Both Sadie and the lady’s dog had a wound on their leg. It is unclear who bit the lady since I did not see it in real time. A witness thinks it was Sadie. But she typically loves meeting other dogs and just wants to play. I believe the lady’s dog was just protecting the owner and things escalated from there.

Story
At just 1 year old, Jaime is a husky with personality to spare! This floofy gentleman takes his time warming up (ironic for a snow dog, right?) but once he does—prepare for cuddle avalanches!Jaime`s still figuring out this whole `leash` situation. Sometimes he channels his inner statue, other times his inner Usain Bolt. Hey, we all have our quirks! He`s totally cool with furry roommates and will do ANYTHING for treats. Seriously, wave a snack and watch this `shy guy` transform into an enthusiastic dance machine.Jaime needs a patient family committed to positive reinforcement training. He`s got potential bursting at the seams—he just needs someone to show him the ropes (or leashes, as it were). Are you ready to help this sweet husky discover his inner confidence and best life?Jaime weighs 43lbs

Story
My name is Odessa. I am a petite girl who is quite unique looking. I have eyes of different colors! I love people and attention, but I am quite shy. I love to take walks and explore my surroundings and am quite good on the leash. I play well with other dogs too. I enjoy car rides and am crate trained. Having another dog in the home would help me with my confidence.
