Story
Meet Pilaf! Pilaf’s plan make his family fall in love with him is to catch their attention with his ice blue eyes and then win them over with asome insane husky zooms around the yard and occasional drive by kisses. And we at PARL think that is a 10/10 good plan because who wouldn’t want to take him home after that? Pilaf is a young boy with more energy and love than can fit into his body but his solution is to just get bigger so it all evens out. When Pilaf was found as astray he was skinny and only weighed 35 lbs. he’s gained 10 lbs since then! Pilaf loves treats and will sit like a gentleman if you ask him but he’d prefer to good of and be a silly boy. **if you are interested in making Pilaf your best bud, please complete an adopter’s profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

🖤SHILOH🐾 Gentle, handsome, senior husky 🐕 After years of neglect, he’s safe in rescue & getting the care he deserves. We were told that he formally belonged to a neighbor who used to keep him on a chain and never let him in. But recently he had let him go and said he did not want him anymore. Probably because, Shiloh had a tumor growing on his underside and he did not want to be responsible. He has finished his antibiotics and steroids, and the tumor has been removed. The good news is …. It isn’t cancerous!!! And his heart and lungs, and all other x-rays were clear 🖤 True to his breed, he is vocal and full of adorable personality. He greets every human with a soft “awoooo” and lots of cuteness😍 Good with other dogs, but doesn’t need any in his forever home. He’s a bit of a loner. 🤣 In search of a yard to sunbathe in, snacks & pets from people that love him, and the opportunity to live out his golden years how he deserves 💕 If you’re interested in adopting a settled, senior boy, please consider welcoming Shiloh into your home! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Coco, a one-year-old husky mix with striking blue eyes and a spunky personality. Coco is confident, determined, agile and very playful. She’s the life of the party at her foster home.  Coco’s recent breed test determined that she is 36% Siberian Husky and 28% Labrador Retriever, as well as small percentages of Treeing Walker Coonhound, American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Shepherd, American English Coonhound, small Poodle and German Shepherd. An eclectic mix!  All that added up to Coco being a somewhat petite girl, weighing in around 45 lbs at almost full grown.  Coco is sure to make you laugh out loud and perhaps shake your head in disbelief at what she can do! She’ll hop right over another dog while playing or hop up on top of a large crate in one very impressive jump. Nothing stops her from getting to where she needs to go. Coco is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. But on occasion, she has turned into the Harry Houdini of dogs and has escaped a shut and latched crate. Thankfully she is not destructive when left unattended, and she has not escaped a fenced yard.  Coco is super food motivated and very easy to train. She will sit in record time for just a basic milk bone. She can be a little bossy at dinner time but she’s not food aggressive and she’s fine eating with the other dogs in her foster home. She just really loves to eat and is willing to express that to her human with an enthusiastic bark.  Coco is super friendly with all people and other dogs. She loves to play! She’s a very confident playmate but will take cues from other dogs and back off if her playing style is too much for them. She’s also a sweet companion to her doggy friends. She loves nibbling on their necks to comfort them and show her affection.  Coco’s ideal home would be an active one. She loves going on walks and takes one with her foster mom every morning. She’s pretty relaxed during the day if she’s had her morning walk. She’s also obsessed with getting in the car and loves going for car rides.  Coco has an adventurous spirit, and her perfect family would want to take her with them on all of their adventures.

Story
Simba is a 9-month-old, 50-pound bundle of energy and love, ready to find his forever home! With one striking blue eye and a gentle demeanor, this handsome boy has a big heart to match his growing size. He’s a great mix of playful and snuggly—perfect for anyone looking for a loving, loyal companion.Simba is currently in a foster home where he’s been showing off his friendly personality. He lives with 7 other dogs ranging from 30lbs and up. He’s great with younger, playful dogs and has a lot of energy to burn. Though he can be a bit too much for older dogs at times, he’s learning boundaries and responds well when corrected. While he’s not a fan of the crate yet, Simba is housebroken and is doing well with his leash training. He’s smart and will thrive with continued training. This sweet boy loves being around people, especially kids! His foster family includes an 8-year-old girl, and Simba has been so gentle and loving with her. He’s also fantastic in the car—he recently laid in his young foster sister’s lap during a long drive.Simba does have some anxiety about being left alone or separated from his people. He loves to be wherever you are and will do his best to stick close. He may try to jump gates or knock them over if he feels left out, but with the right guidance and a little patience, he’s learning to adjust.Simba is a big, fun-loving boy, and in return for your care and training, he’ll reward you with endless loyalty and joy.If you’re looking for a fun, energetic, and loving companion, Simba might be your perfect match!Check out this boy in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/y8wUeP33NtM?si=xhMS6PqWHoERopZUName: SimbaBreed: Husky/Labrador RetrieverSex: MaleAge: 9 months (estimated)Weight: 50lbSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testing Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: 5+Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Lumen is an adorable, almost 1-year-old spayed female Husky mix who was found as a stray on the streets of Memphis when she was a baby. Lumen was adopted by a family who decided she wasn't a good match for them after she had a medical issue that has since been resolved - their loss. This girl is a lovebug with a side of chaos! Affectionate to a fault, she’s always ready for a snuggle, but don’t let that fool you—she’s got enough energy to power a small city. She adores other dogs, especially if they’re down for rough-and-tumble play that might resemble a WWE match more than a polite meet-and-greet. She lived with cats in her Tennessee foster home but has not lived with cats for a while now. She’s got a particular dietary need, so you'll need to add some enzymes to her food—because even a wild spirit like hers needs a bit of help digesting all that adventure. The enzymes are not expensive. When it comes to obedience, she’s mastered “sit” and “wait,” but when it’s time for a walk, well, let’s say leash training is still a work in progress—so consider this a “continuing education” opportunity for both of you!Oh, and did we mention she gets motion sickness? Yep, it's only the best road trip if you're cool with frequent pit stops. But with her sweet nature and boundless affection, you’ll forgive the occasional car ride drama!Name: LumenBreed: HuskySex: FemaleAge: 11 months  (estimated)Weight: 40.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  ConnecticutIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Hello, my name is Shasta. I am as bright and happy as a Shasta Daisy in the spring. I am very social (dogs and people). I have not been cat tested yet, but my foster family thinks I will also be cat social. I wandered up to this lovely lady's home. She has three dogs. All of which I liked very much. I love to hug, play, stay with my people, and talk when I want to share something. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. My foster mom thinks I was dumped because I did not do well on my car ride to my foster family's home. I came nervous. But my foster family thinks with patience and time, and I will see that car rides are just that—car rides.  I would adore hiking, camping, going to the beach, playing in the water, playing in the fallen leaves and snow trails, and making you laugh. But, most of all, I would adore being with you. Whoever had me trained me some, let's try to find out what I know. To begin the adoption process, please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application, please complete it in full, including the email addresses of your three references. Next is the refundable deposit of $200. The deposit indicates your intentions to take me, Shasta. If, for any reason, the adoption is canceled, you will receive a full refund. The first family to put in an application and deposit is the family I will be reserved to adopt me.
