Story
Looking for someone to stay up and have late-night chats? If you said yes, Ricky is the pup for you! While he will happily stay up to watch you play video games, he’s also comfortable with putting himself to sleep in his crate or an open bed. Ricky is currently living with four other dogs in his foster home and is gaining confidence through them. He loves playing with the dogs and has started listening to their corrections as he learns how to be a dog in the home again. For this reason, we think another confident dog in the home would be beneficial for this boy. Ricky will need continuous exercise, and is happy to run, walk and jog wherever you’d like to go. He’s even grown to enjoy car rides and deems himself the entertainer of road trips. Ricky is house trained and crate trained but has shown to be fine left in a gated off area as well. Ricky is slow to trust but when he does, he loves his people hard. He’s had experience around children and while he enjoys playing with kiddos, he does exhibit resource guarding which his fosters have been working through. For this reason we are looking for a home without kids, atleast at first, so that he can get acclimated. We’d love to find him a home with husky experience as he does exhibit typical husky behaviors that his foster parents are continuing to work on and he is excelling. What’re you waiting for? Story
Rocky has arrived in New England and his foster sent this update!!!Some of his new skills include sit-touch-down. We are also working on "leave it" and fetch. He is: So friendly! He loves people. Actually, he loves everything!~ Medium energy~ Good with miniature horses.~ Rides very well in the car. ~ Excellent in the crate~ Sleeps through the night.~ Working on potty trainingRocky is an approximately 4-month-old Husky mix puppy with a heartwarming story. He was found under a house with some siblings - no mom in site - some residents in the area took them puppies - his mom has kept him safe but realizes that her home is not set up best for one. She was sad thought because her grandson loved having Rocky sleep with him (see photo)A foster of ours took him in, and she says this:Rocky is one of the best foster dogs I’ve ever had! He loves to run outside with my other dogs. He gets along fine with big dogs and small dogs. He loves to cuddle and play with his toys when he enters the house. I’ve had no problems with him peeing or pooping in the house. He’s only crated at night and had only one accident in his crate. He gets along great with the other dogs in the home and loves to visit the foster's horses and pigs, too. There are outdoor barn cats he walks by and seems uninterested in. We are not sure how that translates to indoor cats.Health and Vaccinations:Rocky has started her vaccines and is set to travel to New England next week. He's had his puppy vaccines and rabies!!Rocky is ready to find her forever family and bring joy to her new home!Name: RockyBreed: Husky/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 15-16 weeks, approximatelyWeight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained: Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation: New England on 8/10Puppy Adoption Fee: $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact. PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy's life. Do you have the time? Please consider purchasing this book before adopting. Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 45 lbs Age: 10 months as of 8/15 Echo is a friendly, easy going and mellow pup, she loves to play with other dogs and adores her toys and bones. Echo was taken in by Wags after her family moved to another state and was unable to find a rental that would accept her. They were devastated, but wags promised to find echo a wonderful family who would appreciate such a special girl   Since she arrived at the rescue Echo has settled in  beautifully, she gets along with everyone and her tail never stops wagging.   Echo has had her vaccinations and has been spayed  and is a healthy and happy girl who will make a wonderful companion to the lucky family who adopts her.   Please note that Wags of Monroe county is a struggling 501(c) 3 volunteer organization where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Story
Meet Pooch! If you're looking for an athletic, high energy pup to keep up with you on runs and hikes, you've found your perfect match. Pooch is a 5 month old shepherd/husky mix, he's very playful and loves nothing more than sprinting around the yard or playing tug. He's got a bright, goofy disposition and is always happy to see his favorite people. He is fearful of new people but warms up with some treats and space. Pooch would do best in a family ready to work on training and socialization to help him feel more safe and confident when greeting strangers. He hasn't lived with dogs before but would likely thrive with friend to show him the way. **if you're interested in this pooch, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

Story
Ken Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Ken: A Husky Mix Ready for Adventure! Meet Ken, an 18-month-old Siberian Husky mix with a zest for life! Despite a rough start, Ken is now looking for a loving home that can match his energy and enthusiasm. Background: Ken didn't have the best start in life, as he was chained up until rescue took him in. Now, he's ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter. Currently in boarding the transition to home life will take time & patience. Ideal Home Ken needs an experienced Husky owner who can provide him with the structure, routine, and training he needs. He thrives in an environment where he can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Personality: Ken is full of energy and spunk! At 18 months old, he's still very much a playful pup. He's mouthy, jumpy, talkative, and loves to be in your face. He does well with other dogs who match his energy and play style. Are You the Right Match? Do you have the time and energy to provide Ken with the life he deserves? If you're an experienced Husky owner looking for a fun and active companion, Ken could be the perfect match for you! *Note: Due to his energetic nature, Ken is not recommended for homes with young children or cats.* If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
