Story
Crunch is a beautiful three-year-old female Husky who was transferred to us from Athol Animal Control. She takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, but she loves being patted and cuddled once she is comfortable. She is very gentle, affectionate and playful. She loves to go for hikes and is very good on a leash. Since Crunch is a Husky, she will need an adopter willing to provide her with a lot of exercise. She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vetted so we are accepting applications now.  If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

Story
Scar is a beautiful boy that was found wandering as a stray with his brother, "Brother". They are being fostered together, and we are told that they are sweet, still have some puppy energy, and are two friendly boys. They love treats and both seem like they'll be very food motivated, which could be a positive tool to use in training. We are told that both are good with other dogs, but bark at cats. Scar is looking for a forever home that will give him the grace, time, and patience needed to learn what life in a home is like. In return, you'll receive a lifetime of love and loyalty. Scar is about 37 lbs and 7 months old. He gets the name Scar from a Scar found on front of his head .

Story
These two brothers unlocked an early Rescue memory of a dog I fell smitten with the first time down volunteering in Mississippi! Her name was Frankie. She came north soon after we met her, and she now is living a rescue dog’s dream with her forever family! The goal is and will be to do the same for these two brothers. Their eyes, ginger hair, and up ears are ridiculous in the cutest sense! SCAR and BROTHER are 7 months old, have playful puppy energy, and love treats and seem smart and eager to please! Scar has a scar on his head, and a slightly bent ear. In the video we saw of them (see comments) they took treats gently. They are dog friendly and are about 35 lbs! We are hoping to secure forever families or fosters the end of the month! A share, like, comment, will help spread the word of these boys! Story
He is a 11 month old husky. Has all his shots. We had a baby recently and don't have time that he needs. He would benefit from a active owner that can take him on walks or bike rides. He is very friendly to people and dogs.

Story
Princess is an energetic young husky puppy who still has a lot to learn! While she can be sweet, she's not much of a cuddler and would much rather zoom around the yard--or your living room! She is possessive of bones and toys, but she loves to play and will eagerly trade one toy for another toy of equal or higher value. OTHER PETS: Princess got along well with other dogs, though she is very vocal when inviting play! She would likely do best with a tolerant, socialized dog who can give appropriate feedback. [Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone who has experience with high-energy breeds and dogs that resource guard would be ideal for Princess. She's still young and has a lot to learn through positive reinforcement training. [Experienced] KIDS: Princess is a resource guarder with her possessions--including treats, bones, and her toys. It's important that she is left alone if she is given any kind of food resource, so a home with only adults who can understand and respect her boundaries would be ideal to prevent an unnecessary sense of conflict. [Adults Only] ACTIVITY LEVEL:Huskies are high energy dogs that need both physical exercise and mental stimulation daily. Princess is no exception, and will need healthy ways to channel her energy--including mental enrichment--to ensure that she does not create her own entertainment. Some activities Princess might enjoy are: multiple daily walks, hiking, puzzle boxes, treat puzzles, or even dog sports with further positive reinforcement training. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Princess is still at the beginning of her positive reinforcement training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer patience as she builds confidence. Positive reinforcement training will help Princess not only learn her basic cues & skills, but also help her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate] GROOMING: Regular brushing will help keep Princess's coat clean and matt-free-- huskies blow their coats twice a year, and many owners choose to have a professional groomer help with the extra shedding. Story
Diva1 year oldSpayed FemaleIntroducing Diva! This girl’s personality is as striking as her beautiful coat, and she can’t wait to meet you! Diva is still an angsty teenager with plenty of energy and attitude. She`s still learning how to navigate the world with her feet on the ground, but she promises to keep you smiling with her silly, outgoing personality. Diva may be successful with another rowdy playmate, or with a more mature dog who can help show her the ropes. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
