Story
Meet Luna
Luna is a beautiful and petite 2.5-year-old Husky who has been patiently waiting for her forever home for over a year. Currently in Texas, Luna is looking for a committed adopter to welcome her directly into their home, as a meet-and-greet won’t be possible.
Luna came to us as a mother and saw both of her puppies adopted long ago. Now, it’s her turn to find a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Despite her Husky lineage, Luna is surprisingly laid-back and has a calm personality. She’s not a typical barker but loves to “talk” with endearing ooo-ing sounds when she wants something. Luna is mild-mannered indoors and enjoys her playtime outside but doesn’t bounce off the walls when inside.
Here are some highlights about Luna:
• Great with Other Animals: Luna has lived peacefully with 10 dogs and a dozen cats in her foster home. She loves other dogs but does best when fed separately due to mild food resource guarding, which is easily managed.
• Leash and Crate Trained: Luna is fine on a leash but, like many Huskies, shouldn’t be trusted off-leash. She’s very crate trained, associates it with food, and will go in willingly with just a simple “Kennel” command.
• Gentle Personality: Luna isn’t a door darter and has shown herself to be respectful in the home. She doesn’t place much value on toys, making her easygoing with other pets.
• Mild Energy Level: While Luna enjoys outdoor playtime in a yard, she has a calm demeanor indoors and doesn’t require excessive exercise.
Additional Notes:
• Luna eats regular dog food and has been crated for car rides.
• She’s lived with cats but her reactions to small wildlife are unknown.
If you’re looking for a loyal and gentle companion, Luna might be the perfect match! Don’t let her wait any longer—she’s ready to become the newest member of your family.
is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you).
To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM
