Story
Meet Zooks! This two-year-old husky mix is 51-pounds fabulous fun! He always has an ear to ear grin and will make even the gloomiest day bright! Zooks is an affectionate fella that loves to be close! He a top-notch snuggler for sure! A fan of the outdoors and especially the snow, Zooks is ready for any adventure that comes his way! A fenced-in yard and lots of exercise is the key to keeping this bubbly boy active and engaged. As he's still a young man, he will benefit from continued training in his new home. We make sure our boy Zooks gets lots of time out in the fenced-in runs and he has a blast! He enjoys the company of his fellow kennel mates and would no doubt do wonderful with another fun-loving fur baby in his new home. However, he's also content to toss a ball around to himself in the yard to keep himself entertained. Hanging out with Zooks is a guaranteed great time! Some of our amazing volunteers took Zooks on a three mile hike and raved about how awesome he was. Good on a leash and in the car, Zooks is the perfect pal to join you while you hit the trail. He is very social and is up for meeting new friends both human and canine alike. Zooks enjoys pup cups and is always up for a nice ear-scratching! Based on evaluation, we feel Zooks will do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the potential to live with other dogs as he does well with them here at the kennel. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think Zooks is the dog of your dreams, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and get your application submitted for this charming pup!

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 6 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce had a DNA test completed. The results are in and he is a Siberian Husky and Boxer mix. We thought for sure some Akita would be in there but what do we know? Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Kyan on Adopt-a-pet. The definition of best friend. Kyan "Ky" will follow you to the end of the earth if that's what you have planned. He's a ride or die pup with his humans, loves doggie friends, unknown cat behavior, gentle with kids, great walking partner, lap cuddler, movie buddy, office pal....he's got your back. Kyan is an escape artist, so someone that works from home, can take him to doggie day care, or has another dog in the home to keep him company would be the best fit for this pup. Please ask staff for more information on Mr. Houdini.

Story
Loki`s owners are looking for a new home for him and have provided this information:Loki (yes name after the marvel show) is a Husky with a strong personality and loves to greet you with a special howl. He is chill but can be a bit energetic when he gets excited about the things he loves, like going outside to run around in the yard, treats or a brand new toy. We adopted Loki when he was 1 year old with heartworms (which has since been treated and cured). We don`t know much about his background but we believe he didn`t have the best one. Loki can be a bit sassy when he wants but also loving when he needs to be. He did start off with behavioral problems in the beginning for example, escaping his crate and breaking in the process but has been corrected since. He has come a long way and just needs a loving home with an experienced owner who has the time and patience for him. Ps. Fun fact Loki has Heterochromia ( one blue eye and the other brown)Diet: His stomach doesn’t handle chicken well, so we stopped feeding it to him once we realized it started to upset his stomach. Our favorite to feed him is the Costco or Meijer brand of salmon or turkey. weight: about 60 poundsgood with dogs: YEScats: UNKNOWNkids: UNKOWNhouse-trained: YESspecial needs: NOexperienced adopter: YESfenced yard needed: YESLoki~born~11/18/19_____Standard and Special Breed adoption fees includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org***PAAW’s Cat Café is now open in Farmington Hills!
