Story
Well look at that smile, too cute! Mia is estimated to be about 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. Mia has such an outgoing and playful personality, with a little bit of goofiness rolled in as well, so funny! She loves to lean in for love and snuggles after play time is over. Tennis balls make her very happy and she is hoping her new family would like to play ball with her. Mia does need some help with jumping up for attention, she will need an experienced adopter who knows how to establish themselves as a leader, set limits and work on basic obedience. She is a very smart girl and is looking for direction, she will just blossom with the right guidance. An active, fun family would be her dream and where any children are at least 8 years old. Mia has a lot of love to give and is looking for a forever home where she can grow up and make new memories. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Mia would love to meet them. She has an “all in” approach with other dogs and a bit pushy. She will need to learn some limits. If you are interested in Mia and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Hello, im super sad to have to rehome our husky/pit mix, Ash. She is about 2 years old and has been wonderful to our family, unfortunately she is attacking one of our other dogs, I am pregnant and due in november and I cant have it in my house. We tried to rehome her to a friend but in 1 hour we were told to pick her up because she growled at their two year old and her husband. She needs an experienced owner who can train her and spay her and work with her. She is high energy and need to run. She is so sweet, I just cant do it.

Story
What a gorgeous soft coat Brownie has! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 45 pounds. There's something sweet and special about Brownie - and it's not just her name! Brownie is beautiful girl with a playful, affectionate, and shy personality. Despite her initial shyness, this well-mannered pup is eager to please and will win your heart over with her mellow and loving nature. She really perks up when you bring out the toys, so she is hoping for maybe a little basket of them in her new home. Brownie would really benefit from some confidence building and leadership, it would be wonderful if her new family could help her with this. She will need home where any children are at least 4 years old. Brownie is going to be such a great companion to anyone, she has so much love to give. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Brownie would love to meet them. She has an “all in” play style with other dogs and needs to learn some limits. She really comes out of her shell with other dogs, so another friendly dog in the home may be good for her. If you are interested in Brownie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. Story
Meet Rizzo! Rizzo is a beautiful red wooly-coated Siberian Husky mix. He spent his life in an outside kennel and was used for breeding purposes. Although he needs to be brushed out and has some matting in his fur, he’s still beautiful and such a sweet dog! He’s definitely a shelter favorite. Rizzo was adopted a few months ago, but had to be returned because the owners learned that he has a very high prey drive. He unfortunately got hold of their chickens, and then would leave their yard to go to the neighbors and get their chickens as well. Because of this he had to be returned. Rizzo loves to walk on a leash and does great in a car. He’s potty trained even though he has lived a life in a kennel. He’s extremely smart and loves to snuggle on the couch with his humans. He’s good with other dogs, and great with kids of all ages. Obviously with the prey drive, we don’t recommend he live with cats. Rizzo is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all of his vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm. If you’d like to have these beautiful blue eyes to look into every day, you can apply for him here: Animals First Adopt

Story
Pizzaz is absolutely beautiful with his light brindle coloring! He is estimated to be about 8 months old and weighs 40 pounds. He will have more information coming soon. Any children in the home need to be at least 13 years old. His adopter should know how to instill leadership and understand the mental needs of the working breeds. Pizzaz also needs to go to a home where there is another friendly, playful dog, he loves other dogs and seems more content with a playmate. If you are interested in Pizzaz and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
