Story
Chena is a special girl. Approximately 1 year old female husky mix. She is slight in stature, weighing in around 40+ pounds, but is a dynamo of an athlete. It has been a real treat welcoming her in as our foster friend.  Chena has great house manners; she is potty trained and will use her crate overnight, or when we are away. As of late, we have let her free range in our home overnight and during the day when we are gone; all without incident. We live at a busy ski area, and although she is always alert to what is going on around our home, she will only let out a modest bark here and there.    Chena LOVES being on trails and in the mountains. Her recall has been quite astounding after just a couple of days.  We had her off leash, in safe areas, within days. We do suggest to any adoptive family that "off leash" is done gradually.  Chena is initially a bit shy with new people and dogs; but does warm up quickly. She prefers to check out the environment with some caution.  Chena has been around our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and did well.  With that said, we feel she would thrive either in an environment with or without children and with or without other dogs; she has been quite adaptable; and gets into the "family dance" easily with encouragement.   We have not had any exposure to cats, so we cannot yet comment.  She is a cuddler and will do anything to be your sofa buddy.    Chena has some hesitation on solid surface floors; but it has been incredibly random.  She currently has solid floors at her foster home, and after about a week, overcame her hesitation. We are still working on open air stairs and elevators. She is great in a car and does well on leash. If you feel Chena could join your family, we would love to meet you for a walk, hike, etc. so she can be introduced.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 6, 2025, 1:00 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I am a young guy at just over a year and a half old and about 55 lbs.  Although I am a husky mix, I don't do most of the naughty husky things that the others do.  No fence jumping, digging, or running away. I do like to sing the song of my husky peeps at times, though, so I wouldn't be a great apartment dwelling dog.  I have a genetic deformity in my back legs that makes it so I can’t be too active for too long. Short walks and mental stimulation games are good for me!   I have been staying with a dog trainer for several months to work on my anxiety, socialization with other dogs, manners, and obedience skills. Not to toot my own horn too much, but I’m pretty pretty awesome now. I know many great commands and have really learned how to relax and not be so anxious. I am such a smart boy that is very excited to continue learning with you.  I am fully house trained and great in my crate most of the time. I have pretty good house manners and love to hang out with my people and chew on a bone. I am really good with people, including kids. I do fine with cats and most other dogs.  I like to be the only handsome boy in the house so I would prefer to live with a chill female dog. If you think Inari could be the arctic adonis you've been looking for, apply to meet him today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 4:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Are you looking for a mature, distinguished gentleman?  If so then I’m your guy.  Hi there, my name is Crossbone but my friends call me Bones! Have you ever seen such a handsome face?  Im a 9 1/2 year old Husky and I am everything you’d expect of a  lovable mature companion.  Can you tell that snow is my happy place?  I absolutely love people and my favorite thing in the world is my run and walk time.    Being a Husky I’d really do best in a home that can provide me the exercise and stimulation my breed requires.  Don’t let my age fool you, I can run with the best of them.  Afterwards I’d love some snuggle time, and don’t be surprised when I vocalize all my likes and dislikes in true Husky fashion!  I’m potty trained, and while the crate isn’t my favorite place I will do OK in one.  I’ve lived a long life successfully with many dogs but I do have a tendency to be protective of my food or treats so I’d prefer to live with either larger dogs who respect boundaries or no dogs.  My foster mom can fill you in on the details.  She also thinks that no other small animals (to include small dogs and cats) or small kids would be best.  If a handsome man like me is a good fit for your home, head on over to https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication and ask for Crossbone!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 4:51 pm
