Brandy loves going for walks, car rides, and playing chase. When she's excited, she'll make you laugh by giving her stuffed toys little corn-cobbing chomps. Give her neck scritches, and she'll lean in with squinty eyes. Ever watchful, she gives off the vibes of a wise white wizard when you meet her knowing glance. She may even compel you to give her a little snack. Beautiful Brandy is an affectionate, playful gal who knows how to relax on her own while you're busy. Brandy was housetrained in her previous home. Meet her at the Humane Society of Utah!

Miss Aurora is a 2 year old, fun, energetic dog. She has previously lived in a home with children, but we recommend she go to a home with older children due to her size and energy. Aurora has met other dogs here at HSU, but she would do best as the one and only canine in her new home! She would love walks and play time and then some bacon or hot dogs as a treat afterwards! Come and meet Aurora today!

Story
Have you always wanted to adopt a little bear? Okay, well it would be dangerous to try and offer you a grizzly, but we have this OSITO looking for a home! Osito is a 2-year-old husky with a beautiful red and white coat and some very soulful eyes. His favorite things are squeaky toys and showing off his tricks! Osito knows sit, paw, high five, let's go/vamos, and "bedtime," in which he goes to find his bed. He would love to learn more good boy cues with you! In the past, Osito has lived successfully with another dog and an infant. He may enjoy some dog-savvy younger friends in his new home, or a canine companion or two if given a slow and careful introduction. He would prefer to go to a home without cats or chickens, as they can be a bit too exciting for him. We pawmise Osito will make a better pet than the average bear! Meet him today at the Humane Society of Utah!

Story
Apple Jacks and her 13 siblings were raised in a garage and yard but often interacted with the people in the home, including several children. They grew up with their mother dog, a Husky Mix. The father was reportedly a German Shepherd Mix. They were friendly when meeting new people. Their favorite snack was chicken. These adorable pups came in as part of our Last Litter program. We spayed and returned the mother dog to her guardians, then spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped all the puppies and are now finding loving homes for them. Come meet these cuties and make one of them part of your family!

These pups are in South Salt Lake, Utah too!

Story
This beautiful lady is Kumi, an American Akita, between 6-8 years old. After spending the last four months with foster parents (who immediately fell in love with her) she is a happy, healthy girl with lots of love and energy to spare. She does have a few patches where her coat is still filling in resulting from malnutrition issues. Kumi’s favorite things include being outside (playing, running or just basking in the sun), car rides and rope toys (she is a champ at tug of war). Kumi is a very loving dog. She is a little skeptical of public places and doesn’t want to do much with strangers. Fortunately, you’re only a stranger until you walk into her home and then you are her BEST friend! Kumi knows basic commands and is eager to show them to you . . . if you have a treat. Proper dog introductions are a must for Kumi. She can be a little grumpy with other dogs. She gets along well with dog savvy cats. Sometimes she gets excited and will chase them but has never hurt them. She has not been tested around kids. Kumi’s new family will need to make sure she gets help with leash and obedience training. While Kumi is a very good girl, she can be very stubborn and would prefer to do things her way and not listen to the two-legged members of the pack. She really doesn’t like to be left alone and will break out of kennels, so long hours alone every day may be a problem. She would benefit from a home where someone in the family works part time or works from home. Kumi is a special girl who is willing to be your buddy on walks and hikes, play with you until she tires you out, and cuddle up next to you on the couch in the evening. She will require consistency and some additional training, but trust us, she is more than worth it. Kumi has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm, and has been microchipped. You can visit at the PetSmart in Salt Lake City, (389 W. 1830 S.) the third Saturday of every month from 11 am - 2 pm. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application at www.uaaf.org.
